00:00You're on someone else's tax-paid land.

00:02By law, with squatters.

00:03By law, nope, nope, nope.

00:04All right, both my grandparents own that property.

00:06So my mom had a friend who was strolling by the property

00:08and noticed that there was an RV there.

00:09And nobody has lived there for, like, 15 years.

00:12So he knows that nobody should be there.

00:13I'll actually give you the day to get out.

00:15But if I come back tomorrow and you guys are here,

00:16the cops will be involved,

00:17because I know you guys do not own this property.

00:19And so as I'm going to check it out,

00:20I ask if it's his so-and-so, the family friend,

00:22and then he's like, no.

00:23So I'm like, well, what are you doing here?

00:25What are you doing out here?

00:26This is my grandmother's property.

00:27This family of squatters have claimed his grandmother's land,

00:30but he's going to get them to move.

00:32You know what I mean?

00:33He knows he shouldn't be there, obviously,

00:34and then that's when he starts seeing me with the squatter law.

00:36Been here for over 30 days.

00:38Yeah, I know.

00:39And you're not supposed to be.

00:40Definitely not supposed to be here.

00:42By law, I want squatter.

00:43No, no, no.

00:45Like, what the f*** is a squatter law, bro?

00:47Squatter rights, what is that?

00:48Squatter's rights mean a person can claim ownership

00:51of abandoned property if they occupy it for 30 days.

00:54That's when I kind of get mad and start recording his license plate,

00:56and then his RV more and stuff,

00:58and then that's when I hear a kid, and my car kind of drops.

01:01You guys got kids here.

01:02You're squatting the kids.

01:03You're really a piece of s***, aren't you, bro?

01:05Once a squatter is established,

01:07the owner can't use force to remove them.

01:09This guy is going to need some backup.

01:11But anyway, once I hear the kids, I kind of calm down.

01:13I'm like, all right, you know what?

01:13I'm going to call the cops.

01:14And then so I called the cops.

01:16What's going on today?

01:17My mom's friend messaged her and was like,

01:18hey, there's an RV over on your mom's property.

01:21I come out here, and she said it might be our family friend Kevin.

01:23He said, hey, is your name Kevin?

01:24He said, what are you doing out here?

01:27You don't live out here.

01:27This tax is just paid by my end.

01:29She pretty much wants some daughter.

01:30How do we start this process?

01:31Okay, if it's not some friends or something like that living here?

01:34It's definitely not, yeah.

01:35Okay.

01:36They even said that they've been here for 30 days

01:38and squatting the this, this, and that.

01:40Evicting a squatter is not instant.

01:42Getting a court order to remove them

01:44can take from weeks to months.

01:46Cops are like, okay, if you could please do me a big favor

01:48and please wait off for the property and watch them

01:50and let me know if anything changes on the property.

01:52They got some papers.

01:54So the sheriff goes and talks to him, pulls up,

01:56and then as soon as he pulls up, the guy walks out with papers.

01:59And now what these papers stated when he handed them to the cops

02:01is that he somehow got power turned on.

02:04He got an account and a wire ran from that box to his own little RV.

02:10They did all of that with him by signing something.

02:12Bro, I don't know how you do that.

02:13In some U.S. states, squatters can gain tenant protections

02:16after just 30 days, forcing you into a lengthy, formal eviction.

02:21He's trying to let the squatter know that whatever he's trying to do

02:23is invalid due to him not having a lease and that this is Arizona.

02:26He even had to try to call back up

02:28because the dude wasn't cooperating and wasn't trying to leave.

02:30So anyway, the cop gets out of his truck or whatever

02:32and then he goes up and starts talking to the dude.

02:33And the first thing I hear is,

02:35well, this is tax, someone is paying taxes on this land.

02:38Like, you're going to be gone.

02:39Like, you might as well just go now.

02:40Like, you're going to have an eviction on your record type stuff.

02:42Like, I mean, he obviously don't care if he's squatting,

02:44you know what I mean?

02:45I didn't actually know he was there for 30 days,

02:47but that paper stated that he actually was.

02:49And so then the cop kind of doesn't even know what to do either.

02:52He was only there for the 30s,

02:53so we do have to do the legal eviction process.

02:55The cop helped a lot and got them their land back.

02:58Riding off into the sunset, how ironic.
