The mother of two children killed by their father says a change to the law "will save generations of children's lives". Claire Throssell's children, Jack, 12, and Paul, nine, were killed in a house fire started by their father in October 2014, after he was granted access to the boys. Report by Kennedyl. 00:00Presumption has no place in a court of law, never has, never will, and it's not for judges who are strangers to children and get only snapshots of their lives to make decisions that then end their lives due to the Children's Act saying, judges will automatically presume it's in the best interest of a child to see both parents.
00:23It's not, it never has been, and today we are sending a message to the judiciary system that children's lives do matter, children's voices do matter, and they can no longer just presume that a child is safe to see a parent.
