00:04Scott did so great and you're very good in it. »
00:06« This is about Bruce Springsteen. »
00:12« And these are the songs
00:14that he wants to work on right now. »
00:18Bruce Springsteen a vu le film ?
00:20« I have a difficult time
00:22watching myself on camera
00:24so he saw the film a couple times
00:26before I think I saw it for the first time
00:28and he was so encouraging
00:30of me, so complimentary of Scott
00:32and really praised
00:34my work as very honest
00:36and beautiful and kept encouraging
00:38me every couple of weeks. You should really go see
00:40this movie, it's very good, Scott did so great
00:42and you're very good in it. »
00:44« It took a while for Jeremy to see the film. »
00:46« It took a while for me to go and see it. »
00:48Pourquoi Bruce Springsteen est si important ?
00:50« His music is, I find
00:52to be incredibly
00:54empathetic.
00:56he condemns no one
00:58in his music.
01:00There's space for all.
01:02Very little judgment
01:04past, I think.
01:06And because of that,
01:08he's so universally
01:10admired
01:12and he's so beloved. »
01:16« Who was Springsteen ? »
01:18« My understanding of Bruce,
01:20I guess prior, I thought
01:22I was pretty knowledgeable, but I
01:24think it was pretty basic.
01:26I was a fan of his music.
01:28I understood him to be a good
01:30and reasonable man, but didn't know
01:32very much about him.
01:34So,
01:36the process of
01:38understanding him in this period of time
01:40was eye-opening.
01:42He was a man of great depth because of his
01:44lyricism, but I didn't understand that
01:46we were dealing with this man that sort of
01:48had looked over the edge at a period
01:50and so frequently.
01:51But I think, yes,
01:52I have to echo what Scott said about his
01:54sort of artistic integrity, his ability
01:56to listen to himself when sort of
02:00the pressures of the external world
02:02might have him doing something different
02:06or behaving differently.
02:08I found that to be one of the more
02:10impressive things about him and also
02:12the way he moves through this world
02:14with such kindness, grace,
02:16and gentleness,
02:18I think, was a discovery made
02:20in the process of making the film
02:22but also in coming to understand
02:24Bruce as a man.
02:26How did you enter into the character?
02:28I think I, you know,
02:30I spent a lot of time learning about him,
02:33watching him.
02:34I found as much footage as I could of him
02:36sort of like during this period of time,
02:38but also felt a lot of the time that I was
02:40working from the inside out
02:42and sort of crossing my fingers in a lot of
02:44ways where, you know,
02:46I was trying to think of Bruce,
02:48not so much as Bruce Springsteen,
02:50but a young man coming home who's a musician
02:53after a very big tour,
02:55coming home looking for peace
02:58and thinking he'll find some kind of salvation
03:01and he finds something very different.
03:04He's found some chaos and confusion
03:08and questions.
03:09What happens with a man?
03:10How does he move through the world
03:12when he's contending with these things?
03:15when he's in the inside?
03:16Yes!
03:17Baby, we're the poor human!
