00:00Texas is a football state and Houston is a football city.
00:05They had a team that was legendary.
00:07One man was behind it.
00:09It was Bum Phillips.
00:11He was a great coach. More importantly, he was a great person.
00:14He inspired players.
00:16I don't think there was any coach that was more love than Bum Phillips.
00:19It's like playing for your dad, you know, a nice dad.
00:23In the 1970s, Houston, Texas was a boomtown,
00:27but still lacked one crucial element, a winning football team.
00:32The Oilers had come up with a brand new headcoat that nobody ever heard of.
