A taxi driver who threw a frying pan of boiling oil at police officers who tried to arrest him has been jailed for nine years.
Self employed cabbie Mohammed Sarfaraz caused serious burns to one cop's face and chest and left him needing a month off work. Another officer was splashed with the scalding liquid but not seriously injured and was more concerned about the plight of his colleague, who he feared had been blinded, during the shocking attack.
