00:00All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Athlete and Artist Show.
00:03I am the artist Kyle Forch alongside the athlete and professional hockey player, Zach Boychuk.
00:10Second week of Season 6 presented by Bombastic.
00:14We're excited. The NHL season's off to a go.
00:17The NCAA season's off to a go.
00:20Chucky, you guys are back in the win column.
00:22I saw it over there in Slovenia in the Austrian League.
00:26What's the last week been like for you guys out there?
00:28You had some more points I saw this past weekend.
00:30You're racking it up over there.
00:33Yeah, it was a pretty solid weekend overall.
00:35We had a really good game Friday.
00:38Got the three points over here.
00:41They give you three points for a win.
00:43And then kind of a crazy game on Sunday.
00:47Penalty filled.
00:49The refs sent an email to the league.
00:54I guess the league sent an email to all the teams.
00:58And the refs.
00:59And said, we need to clean up the slashing.
01:02Clean up the hooking.
01:04Clean up the penalties.
01:04So, they did that this weekend.
01:09On Sunday, they called nine power plays for the other team.
01:13And nine power plays for us.
01:15So, 18 penalties called in one game.
01:19I swear that has to be close to a record.
01:21I think just my own ice time.
01:24I played like nine minutes on the power play.
01:26Which is, you know, I usually only get like 16, maybe 17 minutes on a good day.
01:34So, that's like over half my time on the ice was on the power play.
01:38But, yeah.
01:38It was a barn burner.
01:39Seven, six.
01:40We lost in overtime.
01:42But, we at least got one point.
01:44That's crazy that they ended up sending a letter to the league about hooking and slashing.
01:50Not even brawling.
01:51Not even roughing.
01:53Not hits to the head.
01:55Yeah, you got to stop hooking, guys.
01:58Yeah.
01:59No, that's the European style.
02:02The sticks get a little bit crazy over here.
02:05And you could tell the first little bit of the season, first five games, they were kind of getting a little bit out of hand.
02:13Some heavy slashes on the hands.
02:15And nothing was really getting called.
02:17We were only getting like one or two power plays a game at the beginning of the season.
02:21And then they send this email out.
02:23And it's like one little tap on a stick.
02:26One little tap on maybe a shin pad.
02:29Arms going up.
02:31Really?
02:31It seemed like looking across the league, every single team kind of went through it.
02:36Every single game was called with heavy penalty minutes, I would say.
02:42So, you can't even slash the stick or the pads out there, hey?
02:44No.
02:45They said that you got to keep your stick on the ice and go for the puck.
02:49But, yeah, even like the one-handed slashes on the bottom of the stick.
02:53Like if you could even hear a little bit of a sound, it was getting called.
02:58That's brutal.
02:58That's a stick.
03:00Aren't you not allowed to slash the stick check, stick poke, slash the stick?
03:04I mean, you can't break it, obviously.
03:06But, like, if it's...
03:07I feel like the bottom third, you can kind of, like, get away with it.
03:11But there was no getting away with anything this past weekend.
03:15Do they still let you stick check?
03:17Like, hit from the bottom?
03:18As long as your stick's not coming down on top of theirs?
03:21Or do they still call it?
03:23No, I think they're probably going to call that.
03:25That's crazy.
03:26Like, you might have to, like, maybe come under or, yeah, just stick on puck.
03:30You know, finish your checks.
03:32Find different ways.
03:33But, yeah, it's crazy times over in the win today ice league.
03:39Like, that's crazy that you can't even stick lift from the bottom.
03:45That's, like, I feel like that's what they teach you.
03:48I think you can do the stick lift from the bottom.
03:51I think that's kind of the further...
03:54If you're coming over top at all, if you're one-hand slashing any part of the stick,
04:00obviously in the hands, that's, like, a guarantee you'd get called.
04:03But, yeah, we'll see how tight they call it the next few games.
04:08I'm hoping it's not another penalty-filled weekend.
04:13We got Red Bull this weekend.
04:14They've won the league four years in a row.
04:16So, we got a big game coming up on Friday.
04:19Damn, so you guys are playing basically the guys that you were in Berlin.
04:26Yeah, exactly.
04:27You know, Berlin won what it was, like, four out of five championships the last two years.
04:33And, you know, every team was just gunning for us when we were playing.
04:37And I think now in this league, everybody kind of brings their best game to play against Red Bull Salzburg.
04:45And hopefully we're ready to play.
04:47Do you guys play them tomorrow or Saturday?
04:50Tomorrow.
04:51So, Friday.
04:52Yeah, we're filming this on Thursday.
04:53That'll be a good game.
04:54I'll have to pop that one on while I'm editing or something like that and watch it while I'm editing the pod.
05:01But, yeah, that'll be a good game.
05:06Man, I mean, while we're on the topic of international hockey,
05:08we got a couple things, a couple wild things from international hockey.
05:14Let's start with the Olympics.
05:16Chucky, I know you were, you, just before we started recording,
05:19you mentioned you were talking to someone who was working with one of the teams that are going to be playing the Olympics.
05:23I saw this article yesterday.
05:25By the way, the arena that is supposed to host all of the hockey games in Milan for the Olympics in February,
05:33it isn't even close to done yet.
05:38It's apparently the first, they were supposed to do trial runs, I think, in like November or something.
05:44And they apparently won't be ready to have the first hockey game in that arena until a women's game the day before opening ceremony.
05:54That's honestly crazy.
05:56Like, you'd think that by now that they'd already be built.
05:59There'd already be a couple venues ready for it.
06:02And I don't know how many rinks they need during the Winter Olympics,
06:06but to hear that it's not even close to being done,
06:10and there's teams going to, like, check out the dressing rooms,
06:13checking out all their different stuff for, like, when they bring equipment and video,
06:18and they can't even basically check out any of the dressing rooms.
06:22So, you know, they're pretty far away from getting things done.
06:26Yeah, like, when did you start building this arena?
06:28How long have you known that you were going to be hosting the Olympics this year?
06:31How can you not plan this better?
06:34Doesn't make any sense to me.
06:36I think they've known for at least four years, no?
06:39Or a couple years.
06:39I mean, you would have broke ground right away, you'd think, if you needed an arena.
06:44Yeah, it's insane.
06:45They're slower at building the arena than Calgary is at building anything out here.
06:50They broke ground.
06:52It looks like it's starting to come up above the floor levels.
06:57So they're making progress in Calgary.
06:59Yeah, I can see the cranes from my apartment living room.
07:04So it's a little, I cry a little bit more every day.
07:07It's so much construction.
07:10It's crazy.
07:11But yeah, imagine if the arena...
07:13What is it?
07:13Olympic Way or Olympic Avenue?
07:1512th Avenue?
07:16It's probably so much construction around there.
07:19It's insane.
07:20Especially because we're getting back into winter now.
07:24It's starting to cool down.
07:25It already snowed a little bit last weekend.
07:27So they're trying to rush the final summer jobs that are yet to finish, I guess, and get
07:35on from there.
07:36But yeah, the Calgary arena is supposed to open end of 2027, I think.
07:39So I think we have two more seasons, two more hockey seasons in there, at least for the
07:44Flames.
07:45Or in the Saddle Dome, I mean.
07:46But yeah, if that Olympic arena isn't done by the Olympics, or if they have any issues
07:53and something goes wrong, it's just going to create complete chaos.
07:59Yeah, I don't know where they would play the games out of.
08:02I mean, there's lots of arenas, but not ones that will sit a lot of people and sit enough
08:07for an Olympic Games type event.
08:09I mean, you are close to Lugano.
08:12I don't know if they'd go across to Switzerland, but you're kind of close for Milan.
08:19There's probably a couple older arenas in Italy.
08:23So I don't know.
08:24I think Switzerland would be the biggest rink that you could kind of play of that's really
08:28close to Milan.
08:29Yeah, I guess they're supposed to be testing it.
08:33Yeah, so the event was supposed to test Santagula.
08:39I don't know how to pronounce that.
08:40But they're supposed to test the ice part of the Under-20 World Championship from December
08:468th to 14th.
08:49The event was moved to Roe Fiera Hockey Venue.
08:53I don't know how big of an arena that is.
08:57Let me check real quick.
08:59But it's basically a giant convention center on the outskirts of Milan, apparently.
09:04So they were going to host secondary matches during the game.
09:06So probably like some of the smaller Euro countries.
09:10But to host the games like Canada-US or some of these other bigger arena or bigger games
09:20might not be great.
09:22It says...
09:23So the secondary venue is supposed to be 15,000 seats.
09:26So it's still a decent-sized arena.
09:28The main arena...
09:30It'd be nice to get that to like 20,000.
09:32I think if you get a Canada-USA game or even like when Italy plays some of the bigger teams,
09:39I'm sure a lot of people will be going.
09:42Yeah.
09:42The main ice arena is supposed to...
09:46I don't know why I'm calling it an ice arena.
09:47It's just what they...
09:49How they refer to it as.
09:50The main arena is 16,000.
09:52So, I mean, they're pretty close in size and capacity, apparently.
09:55But yeah, it'll be pretty packed in there if that's the only venue that they're able to play out of.
10:01Yeah.
10:01Then there's a lot of different groups, a lot of different teams.
10:04So you definitely need more than one arena.
10:07Yeah, for sure.
10:08Another thing coming out of international hockey, did you see the KHL ref that was banned for life
10:15for calling a goal on a puck that went through the side of the net?
10:20Like not under the net, went through the side of it.
10:22Kind of the opposite of what happened with Shea Weber back in the day when he blasted a slap shot through the back of the net.
10:27This one went through the side of the net, called it a goal.
10:30I think they ended up reversing it after they looked at the replay.
10:37But he still got banned for life.
10:39So it's a little bit extreme.
10:42That's so like KHL, so Russia for you.
10:44You make the wrong call, boom, you're out.
10:47I heard they reviewed it and then he still went ahead and said that it went in.
10:54And then there was conspiracies that maybe he was part of a gambling ring and there's so many rumors going around.
11:04And yeah, so they just banned him from the KHL.
11:07No more reffing in the KHL.
11:09Insane.
11:09They're not calling up to Moscow like they are in the NHL, calling to Toronto, I guess, for those final calls on the official reviews.
11:18They probably just have the little iPad and he went and looked and he's like, oh, I think that one went in.
11:24I might have to get his eyes checked.
11:26I don't know.
11:26No kidding.
11:27Eye tests in the KHL.
11:30Banned for life.
11:31I mean, in Russia, being banned for life might be the luckiest thing that can happen to you if you mess with their sports.
11:39Yeah, I'm sure there's worse things that have happened over the years.
11:42For sure.
11:43For sure.
11:44I mean, I feel like there's worse things that have happened to players over the years.
11:48Maybe one of the teams was just paying a whole bunch of money to the ref and the ref was like, you know, my hands are tied up.
11:54I got to call this a goal.
11:55Tough one for him.
11:56Hopefully he's still walking around at least.
11:59But yeah, his career in the KHL is over.
12:02He probably got sent on a 17-hour train to the VHL, to the second league in Russia or something.
12:10Sent down.
12:11I wonder if they would allow him back in that league, hey?
12:14You got to go put your time in in the VHL or MHL, whatever it's called.
12:20Yeah.
12:20Maybe we'll call you back up.
12:22A lot of injuries, I think, in the start of this NHL season.
12:25Brady Kachuk just went down for four weeks.
12:28Tough one.
12:29Now, both the Kachuk brothers are injured to start the season.
12:32That's a big loss for Ottawa, who seem to be making improvements coming into this season.
12:36Losing their captain.
12:37Kind of the heart and soul of that team.
12:39Also an offensive guy.
12:41Also the guy that's going to stick up for his teammates.
12:44You know, kind of just the all-around captain that you want to have on a team.
12:48It's tough to see Brady Kachuk go down.
12:50Yeah, both the Kachuk brothers.
12:52I mean, Florida's just getting hammered with injuries right now.
12:54They had another D go down for a while, that Kulikov.
12:57But, yeah, like Ottawa needs to have another big year.
13:01I saw some stats that Ottawa struggles without Brady Kachuk.
13:09So, hopefully they can weather the storm a little bit for him.
13:13I felt like that play was a little bit dirty by Roman Yossi.
13:17He kind of pushed him into the boards from pretty far away when he didn't have the puck.
13:23Obviously, Brady wasn't really expecting it.
13:27He was kind of going in on the forecheck.
13:29And he kind of braced himself with his hand.
13:32I don't know if his hand, like, bent back or if he hit right in.
13:36Probably a broken bone or a torn ligament or something.
13:40Something sprained wrist.
13:42I don't know.
13:42Those ones can be annoying, especially at the beginning of the season.
13:46So, hopefully he heals up.
13:49Ottawa can hang around.
13:50We want all the Canadian teams to do well because we need the cup to come back to Canada at some point.
13:57So, Ottawa is one of those teams that made the playoffs last year and would like to see them do well.
14:03Yeah, Brady went right after him, too.
14:06He got up, went right after Yossi, said it was bullshit.
14:09And then he was kind of looking at his hand.
14:12So, there's been kind of a...
14:14I guess the official report was it was his wrist.
14:17I don't think it said exactly what the injury was.
14:19So, something to do with either his wrist or his hand.
14:22It could be a sprain.
14:23Hopefully, it's not a bad break.
14:25It says four weeks.
14:27Hopefully, it's not longer than that.
14:28Maybe if he's lucky, he'll be able to come back a little bit sooner.
14:31But, I mean, especially in hockey, those hand injuries are a tough one because it could be, in the grand scheme of things, not the most serious injury.
14:40But it could definitely affect your play.
14:42I mean, you would be a perfect person to speak to that.
14:45I think you got a wrist or hand injury in one of your first couple of seasons in the NHL, hey?
14:49One of my only injuries that I've basically had my whole career since junior is I had a little bit of a...
14:56It was a very similar play.
14:58I was coming on the left side.
14:59But I had the puck and the guy kind of hit me from behind.
15:02I went into the boards.
15:03But it was more bone.
15:07It was a scaphoid bone.
15:08And I had to get surgery.
15:10And it was weird because I didn't...
15:12We went and got x-rays after the game.
15:14Nothing showed.
15:16I played through, like, two playoff series.
15:20We went to the finals with the Lethbridge Hurricanes against the Spokane Chiefs.
15:24It was my draft year.
15:25So, it was a big, big year.
15:27I played through it.
15:28Still played through it.
15:30And then it was still bothering me, like, all summer.
15:33I went to the combine, NHL combine, and told the doctor that it was still kind of bothering me.
15:39And still got drafted in the first round.
15:43And by the time I got to Carolina, it was still bothering me.
15:47So, they were like, oh, let's do another x-ray on it.
15:50And sure enough, it was a broken scaphoid bone in my wrist, just a little bone.
15:54And so, they had to do surgery.
15:56And I was out for about two or three months after that.
16:00And kind of the only time that I've really missed an extended period of time.
16:08And tough way to start my pro career going into Carolina.
16:11But I'm really hoping that's not the case for Brady.
16:15Because you want to double check, see if it's bones, see if it's ligaments, and follow up on it.
16:22Because, yeah, if it bothers you for a while, it can be super annoying.
16:26That's a tough one.
16:27Especially, like, you don't know how easily it can get tweaked again out there.
16:32If he, like, takes a slash.
16:33Or if it goes into the boards again.
16:36Or it's, yeah.
16:37The hand is a tough one, especially in hockey.
16:39I mean, I don't, like, I've fractured my, like, just a little sliver in my pinky, essentially.
16:45And it was the most annoying thing that I have ever dealt.
16:48It was, like, I broke this same hand when I was in, like, grade 10, I think.
16:54Just a boxer's fracture.
16:55Those two bones.
16:56And, like, it was just a normal break.
16:58Cast it up.
16:59Let it heal.
17:00It was fine.
17:00But dealing with a smaller fracture that is just kind of, you can't really do anything about it.
17:05You just kind of need to let it heal up on itself.
17:08It's super easy to re-injure it.
17:10I re-hurt it multiple times.
17:11Like, there's a bump in my pinky now where, because I didn't cast it or anything.
17:16I just kind of let it heal itself up.
17:18But if there's, and if you're taking slashes, like, every game, like Brady Kachuk is, or getting hit every game,
17:25like, you could re-annoy that or re-injure it pretty easily, I think, depending on what it is.
17:30Yeah.
17:31It'd be tough in MMA.
17:32You don't have the big gloves on, though, like the hockey players do when you got it on the stick.
17:37But, yeah, it's annoying injuries, little things like that.
17:45You know, those little plays in the game with Yossi, I don't think they belong in the NHL.
17:52I think Yossi's a great guy, great captain.
17:54He can be a little bit chippy, a little bit dirty sometimes.
17:58But, you know, I'm sure in the NDP he probably felt bad about that one.

18:54Speaking of the Sens, their new third jerseys look like they should still be on a rack in Walmart.
19:02They're terrible.
19:03They're pretty bright, eh?
19:05They're bright.
19:06They literally remind me of those cheap knockoff Walmart jerseys that you could buy as a kid if you didn't want to pay $300 for a real one.
19:17Like, it looks like something that you would send a 12-year-old to school in after some back-to-school shopping going into September.
19:27Yeah, online there's a lot of mixed reviews.
19:30It seems like some people are like, what is going on?
19:33Obviously, the Ottawa Senators Twitter account's pumping it saying that the jerseys go hard.
19:41But everybody else is like, are you sure about that?
19:44Yeah, this is the second time they've tried a third jersey that it just was not good.
19:50I think back when they did the black and then they had just the normal red with the black stripes.
19:57They had the black with the red stripes and then they had the opposite, the red with the black stripes.
20:01Those were sick.
20:03But now, yeah.
20:04But these, they're just so bad.
20:08They're bright.
20:09They just, they...
20:10Hi, buddy.
20:11It's just not, I don't know.
20:13It's, especially when you compare it to a lot of the other third jerseys this year.
20:17Like, Detroit's are nasty.
20:18The Oilers, as much as I'm a Flames fan and hate the Oilers, the Oilers, I think people are giving those ones too tough of a time.
20:26Besides the jersey ad that's on them, I think they look great.
20:31What do they got called the Canadian Tire?
20:34Or what's the ad they got on there?
20:36Play Alberta.
20:37Oh.
20:38Yeah, they got an Ottawa team with the Play Alberta?
20:42Oh, sorry.
20:42In Ottawa, I thought you were talking about Edmonton.
20:44What is, what are the Senators' jerseys?
20:48I was going to say that.
20:49That makes more sense in Edmonton.
20:51Yeah, sorry.
20:52I was talking about the Oilers' third jerseys.
20:54I think it's Callion.
20:56I don't know what it is.
20:58Actually, I don't even know if they have a jersey sponsor on these third jerseys for Ottawa.
21:03That's kind of nice.
21:05A lot of them are on the helmet now.
21:07I mean, there's some on the jerseys too, but...
21:09Yeah, some of these third jerseys this year, they have them on the shoulder patch, which I think is a little bit better.
21:15But, yeah, some...
21:18There's some really good third jerseys in the NHL, and there's some that I feel like the designers should be fired and not be allowed to ever design a jersey again.
21:30What are the Flames' third jerseys this year?
21:32They haven't announced it.
21:34Well, besides the Blastie jersey, they kind of stick with that, but...
21:37I like the Blastie jersey.
21:39Yeah.
21:40Blastie's a classic.
21:41I think they're better than their normal jerseys.
21:44The Pens have decent jerseys.
21:45The yellow, it's pretty bright, but I think they look good.
21:48The Kings, did you see the Kings jerseys with the new kind of black and silver with the crown, with just the black crown?
21:55Yeah, I kind of like that.
21:56The helmet looked weird that they had on, but other than that...
21:59It would look cool if instead of the silver helmet, they had, like, a matte black helmet.
22:02Yeah, I got to stick with the matte black.
22:05San Jose's are basically just a heritage throwback to their old school jerseys.
22:11Seattle's...
22:12Buffalo usually does the, like, red and black comebacks, right?
22:17For their third jersey.
22:18Yeah, I wonder if they're going to come out with that again, because those are a fan favorite, I think.
22:23Yeah, those are sweet.
22:24Just complete opposite from the yellow and blue.
22:28Yeah.
22:29Seattle's third jerseys, not great.
22:31I think they tried to copy Vegas with the glow-in-the-dark thing.
22:35They're just...
22:35They're not good.
22:36The Rangers jerseys are pretty sick.
22:38I've seen a lot of people loving the Rangers jerseys.
22:41The Rangers stink, though.
22:42They can't score goals.
22:43And speaking of the Rangers, not score goals, first team in NHL history to be shut out their first three games at home.
22:50That's tough.
22:51Tough.
22:52Tough look.
22:53And Shesterkin's playing pretty good, too.
22:55They just can't figure out how to score a goal at MSG.
22:59Yeah.
23:00New coach comes in.
23:02Now they can't score goals.
23:05Yeah, it's not been a hot start for them.
23:07Not been a hot start for them.
23:09They're 2-3, too.
23:10So they won their away games.
23:13They haven't even scored at home yet.
23:15They've got to change up their routine at home.
23:17Maybe pretend like they're on the road.
23:19Yeah, they were pretty close games, too.
23:22Edmonton beat them 2-0.
23:25Caps beat them 1-0.
23:27I watched a little bit of that Edmonton game.
23:29I was up late giving the baby a bottle and saw ESPN had it going on.
23:36So I threw it on.
23:37How was it?
23:38It was good.
23:39Yeah, like McDavid and Drysaddle are playing together right now.
23:42I think they kind of switched up the lines later in the game.
23:46But I love watching Edmonton anytime I get the chance to see those two guys play.
23:53Rangers shut out, obviously.
23:55I mean, we'll get to the Flames in a second.
23:58There's so many teams with bad starts.
24:02Yeah, it's been brutal.
24:04The Hawks, I think, are starting to look a little bit better.
24:08After last night, eight goals.
24:11Lucas Reichel.
24:12It's Lucas Reichel's maybe breakout year this year, maybe.
24:16Yeah, three points, two goals and assists.
24:18Bedard had three assists.
24:20Nazar.
24:21Nazar.
24:21Is it pronounced Nazar or Nazar?
24:24I've heard it both ways and I don't know which is correct.
24:26I want to say it's Nazar, but we don't know.
24:30We're not the name pronouncers.
24:32I mess up a lot of the names.
24:35Oh, it is Nazar.
24:36Okay.
24:36I just watched a video of him saying it at Michigan.
24:39It's Nazar.
24:40Nazar.
24:40Yeah.
24:41Nazar is wrong.
24:43Nazar is wrong.
24:43So I've been saying it wrong for a bit.
24:47Nazar.
24:48He's off to a hot start.
24:49He's an incredible get for Chicago.
24:54Ever since the first game against Florida,
24:56just buzzing away on the breakaway,
24:59scoring that first goal of the season.
25:01And then last night,
25:04buzzes into the zone again,
25:06scores a goal,
25:07takes out the goalie,
25:08starts a brawl,
25:09gets up from the brawl,
25:10starts selling against the crowd
25:12while everybody else is still scrapping.
25:15Iconic photo that's probably going to be
25:17framed on a wall somewhere
25:19in a man cave for him
25:21or in Chicago Blackhawks history.
25:24Just a cool photo.
25:26But yeah,
25:27great,
25:27great young player.
25:29And I think he's going to be
25:30one of the bright lights
25:32in the Hawks organization.
25:33I like seeing the
25:34Airdrie Alberta kid
25:36neighbors go in
25:37and give him one after he scored,
25:41after he ran the goalie a little bit.
25:43But yeah,
25:45Hawks finally get a win.
25:46And you know,
25:47eight goals,
25:48that's pretty good to see.
25:50I think people are excited after that game,
25:53but it's still,
25:54still going to be a long year for them.
25:56I think.
25:56I saw,
25:57it looked like Holloway scored that game too
25:59for,
25:59for St. Louis.
26:00Now they're Alberta boy.
26:01So St. Louis has got a couple Alberta boys
26:04from,
26:04from out here,
26:05Airdrie,
26:06Calgary.
26:07That's young guys that are going to be good for them.
26:09But yeah,
26:09not a,
26:10not a good game.
26:11That one.
26:12Blues are definitely hit or miss.
26:14They're,
26:14they're going to be right on the cusp of the playoffs again this year.
26:17I think.
26:18Like the flames usually are,
26:20but now the flames are starting one and four.
26:22A little different from last year's start.
26:24I think the flames started four and all.
26:26An embarrassment of a team.
26:28Not looking good this year though.
26:29They're like kind of spotting in per act.
26:33Like,
26:33I don't know why they're just not playing him as much as he can.
26:36Yeah.
26:37Every game.
26:38And then they didn't want to play him against Edmonton.
26:41And then they didn't even play him in the back to back,
26:43I think.
26:43And then finally he gets a chance at home later.
26:48And then he gets smoked.
26:49It's like,
26:50Oh,
26:50you don't want to lose one of your top star 19 year olds right at the
26:54beginning of the season.
26:56And,
26:56but yeah,
26:57they're already one and four.
26:59And maybe they're tanking for Gavin McKenna.
27:02I don't know.
27:02It's not looking like it's going to be a fun year for Calgary.
27:05They could still trade Anderson before the deadline.
27:08Who knows what's going to happen.
27:09They'll be trading everybody.
27:10If they keep losing besides their young guys,
27:13I think for sure.
27:14Yeah.
27:14Keep Wolf,
27:15keep Prack.
27:17Obviously,
27:18you know,
27:18that grid and he's looking pretty good coming in.
27:21Zary Coronado.
27:23Larry Coronado had a nice night the other night.
27:27Keep building around those young guys.
27:28And trade everybody else.
27:30Coronado slow as hell in NHL 26 though.
27:33I'll tell you that right now.
27:34Did he get a slow skating rating?
27:36Yeah.
27:36I've got the flames.
27:37Crooks.
27:37Can you,
27:38what are you doing here,
27:38bud?
27:39Um,
27:40I've got your butt out of the camera.
27:42He's got,
27:43I've got the flames and franchise mode traded pretty much everybody,
27:45by the way.
27:46Did you pick me up from,
27:48uh,
27:48from the Austrian league?
27:49I haven't picked you up yet,
27:51but you are in the game.
27:51We did confirm.
27:52I think we were talking about it last weekend.
27:54We did confirm that,
27:55that Zach Boychuck is still in NHL 26.
27:59With a half,
28:00with a decent rating.
28:01Decent rating.
28:01Like 70 or something.
28:03I think it was 72,
28:0473.
28:05Not bad.
28:06Not bad at all.
28:07My,
28:07my plus minus was pretty low though.
28:09I didn't love that.
28:10Minus 50.
28:11I think that was,
28:12that must've been the,
28:13the NHL plus minus though.
28:15You must've had a tough,
28:16tough start before you went to Europe.
28:18It was like my,
28:19my career plus minus on the game.
28:22It was showing like minus 50,
28:24but my actual career plus minus in the NHL,
28:27I think I played 127 games or something.
28:30And I'm,
28:30I'm like plus two or three,
28:32maybe like minus two or three.
28:34I don't know.
28:34Not minus 50.
28:38Just getting dashes every single game that I play.
28:41Like no wonder I didn't have a long NHL career.
28:44I haven't picked you up yet,
28:46but I'm trading everybody away.
28:47So I'm going to need to soon.
28:48I think I'm sure.
28:49By the way,
28:50if,
28:51if you don't know,
28:51if you're listening or Zach,
28:53if you don't know,
28:53there are the no move,
28:55no trade clauses in the game now.
28:57So you either,
28:58you either have to go in and physically turn them off or you got to just
29:01bother the guy until he's,
29:04until he waves it.
29:05So I don't turn them off.
29:06So I go in and I,
29:08I basically just hound these guys until their morale gets so low.
29:11That they just waive their no move clause.
29:15Eventually they're just like,
29:16Oh man,
29:17I can't sit in the stands any longer.
29:19Just trade me.
29:20Literally.
29:21And I was just,
29:22you can't buy them out or something.
29:23You might actually,
29:24you might be able to buy them out,
29:25but then you gotta,
29:26then you gotta pay.
29:27And then it's on the cap.
29:28And I got a lot of cap space.
29:30So I just,
29:30I need to keep the cap space.
29:32Yeah.
29:33So I actually need to come up a little bit.
29:35Cause I keep trying to trade other guys and it's like,
29:37you'll be too under too low under the cap.
29:39So,
29:40because I got,
29:41I got rid of Hubie.
29:42So that was 10 and a half off the books right there.
29:44I got,
29:45that was a big one.
29:46Weager.
29:47I got Weager to trade his no trade clause,
29:49but he's still,
29:50he's still on the team cause he's quick.
29:51So I'm keeping him around for a little bit,
29:54but pretty much everybody else is,
29:58is gone besides Zeri,
29:59Coronado,
30:00Parekh is out there.
30:02Anderson gone.
30:04Did you pick up any good players for getting rid of these guys?
30:07Yeah.
30:07I picked up Celebrini.
30:09I picked up,
30:10I just picked up Holloway as my second line center.
30:13Cause I needed a guy.
30:15I picked up,
30:16let me,
30:18let me go look at my roster real quick.
30:19Let me see.
30:20Let me see here.
30:22So Wolf's your starter.
30:23Do you have a backup?
30:24Wolf's my starter.
30:25Yeah.
30:25Cooley,
30:26but I haven't played him.
30:27So I need to get,
30:28I need to get a backup.
30:29He hasn't played,
30:29I think in the regular season yet this year,
30:31has he?
30:32He played,
30:32he played against Utah.
30:33He got one.
30:34He got one.
30:35Who else did I get?
30:36I picked up Hagel.
30:38Hagel was another one.
30:39He's a good player.
30:40I signed,
30:40uh,
30:41Roslevic.
30:42I,
30:43UFA.
30:43Yep.
30:44I picked up Gauthier.
30:45Gauthier from the Ducks.
30:47Nice.
30:48I like him.
30:49Cutter Gauthier.
30:50I picked up Lane Hudson from,
30:52from the Habs.
30:53Oh,
30:53you have a wagon of a team.
30:55I picked up Bowen Byram.
30:57How are you under the cap?
30:58And I picked up Jackson Lacombe.
31:00Oh,
31:01nice.
31:02Yeah.
31:02Flames are looking good on,
31:04uh,
31:04NHL 2026.
31:06Is it 2026 or 2025?
31:082026.
31:09Yeah.
31:10I can't keep up anymore.
31:11Yeah.
31:122026.
31:12And then I actually,
31:13I signed,
31:14uh,
31:15uh,
31:15like a Holloway.
31:16So I moved Coleman down to my third line and then I benched Lombard and I signed,
31:20uh,
31:21Cam Atkinson too for the fourth line.
31:23Cam Atkinson out of retirement or what?
31:25Yeah.
31:26He was,
31:26it was either going to be him or Robbie Fabry.
31:29And he's still in 80 in the game and 80 overall at his speed is an 88.
31:32So I was like,
31:33I want some speed for the fourth line.
31:35Just send him out there.
31:36He's,
31:37he's had some experience.
31:39Cheap two under a million.
31:41Think of,
31:41I think it was under 800 K actually.
31:43Got him on retirement.
31:45But,
31:45uh,
31:45the,
31:45the real life flames could learn a thing or two about,
31:48well,
31:48here's the other thing.
31:49I traded all my draft picks.
31:50So that's,
31:51that doesn't help for the future.
31:52That's how you got Hudson and.
31:55And Celebrini and yeah,
31:56all these guys.
31:57I think I have,
31:58I have one first round pick left.
32:00And I figured since,
32:00since Gavin McKenna is not in NHL 26 because he's playing in the NCAA,
32:06the future doesn't matter.
32:07So I got rid of all of them.
32:10Your draft is going to be a struggle the next couple of years.
32:13It's okay.
32:14I'll sign all these guys at long-term deals.
32:16It'll be,
32:16it'll be good to go.
32:17It's a young team.
32:18They'll grow.
32:19They got 10 years.
32:20Yeah,
32:20exactly.
32:21Chucky,
32:22anything else you want to touch on before we get out of here?
32:24No,
32:25I think that's,
32:26that's pretty good for the hockey.
32:28Obviously,
32:29thanks to Bombastic.
32:31It's exciting that all the hockey seasons kind of started up for all the
32:35leagues and we're still keeping up with football.
32:38My,
32:38my fantasy team is three and three right now.
32:41Got a big,
32:42big match this weekend.
32:43So obviously,
32:45you know,
32:46I'm always following up.
32:48Panthers aren't looking too bad.
32:50They got a couple of wins,
32:51the Carolina Panthers.
32:52Yeah.
32:53Should we do a quick football,
32:55a quick football pick?
32:56Yeah,
32:56we could do,
32:57uh,
32:58I was looking earlier,
32:59uh,
33:00maybe like,
33:01uh,
33:01a Thursday,
33:03Thursday night football.
33:04We got a game tonight.
33:05Actually,
33:05no,
33:06we probably,
33:06probably want to do Sunday,
33:07right?
33:08Cause it won't be until,
33:09till later.
33:10So if I look at the,
33:13the Sunday games,
33:15we got Panthers jets.
33:17Ooh,
33:18got it.
33:19I'm definitely going Panthers there.
33:22The jets are horrible.
33:24I feel like,
33:25yeah.
33:27What are you,
33:27what are you thinking?
33:28I mean,
33:29I'm always down to take the Panthers.
33:31What's the spread.
33:32Are we going against the spread?
33:33We got Panthers,
33:34uh,
33:35minus one 25 jets minus one 11.
33:38That's just straight up like money line.
33:41No spread.
33:42Yeah.
33:42Yeah.
33:42Let's take the Panthers.
33:44We got,
33:44uh,
33:45point.
33:46They're running backs looking pretty good.
33:48Yeah.
33:48Sheba Hubbard's out though.
33:49So he's on my fantasy team and the other running backs killing it.
33:54Oh no,
33:54that's tough.
33:55Yeah.
33:56So we're going to go,
33:56we're going to go Panthers money line against the jets.
33:59I like it.
34:00Book it.
34:00Book it.
34:01We'll get that bombastic head to bombastic.com.
34:06Unbelievable website.
34:08They just launched their sports book.
34:10They just relaunched the casino side as well,
34:12but the sport,
34:13we didn't have the sports book launched last week.
34:15This week it is officially launched.
34:17So you can go on bombastic.
34:18You can bet any sports.
34:21They've got everything on here.
34:22They've got tennis,
34:23e-sports,
34:24basketball,
34:25hockey,
34:26MMA,
34:26baseball,
34:27badminton,
34:29beach,
34:29volleyball,
34:30boxing.
34:30Literally everything is on here.
34:31It's insane.
34:32I might have,
34:33I'm going to have to see if there's some,
34:34some Greyhound racing on here too.
34:35I'll just toss some,
34:37toss some more.
34:38And we're going to do some live streaming on Monday,
34:41probably for,
34:41for casino games.
34:43Live stream on Monday.
34:45Dude,
34:45you can bet on world of Warcraft on here.
34:47I think what is good.
34:48That's crazy.
34:49It's crazy.
34:50Crazy website.
34:52And we'll get that bet out.
34:54Carolina Panthers money line over the New York jets.
34:56We will see everybody on Monday for the live stream.
35:00Peace.
