00:00Pounds!
00:02Let's play the 1% clock!
00:08Hockey Twitterites are 100 players!
00:13Right, come on, give us a cheer tonight if you think you've got what it takes to go all the way to the 1% question.
00:20Lady in front there, what's your name?
00:21I'm Stacey.
00:22Hiya, Stacey. Where are you from?
00:23I'm from Asherton, Northumberland, just north of Newcastle.
00:26Okay, and you think you'll do well, why?
00:28Because I'm autistic, I've got a logical brain, I'm a literal thinker.
00:32Do you think autism helps with this?
00:34Yeah, yeah, definitely.
00:35Why is that?
00:36Things just jump out at me.
00:37Not literally, although I am a literal thinker.
00:40I don't have a filter, so don't take anything to heart.
00:43Okay, alright, I like people like you who haven't got a filter.
00:45You're my perfect sort of person.
00:46If you ask us if you think you're fat, I'll just say it.
00:50I don't think you're fat, by the way.
00:51So why don't you use that as an example?
00:54Because I can get away with it.
00:56Okay, so you think you'll do well?
00:59Now, don't forget, you can play along at home if you want.
01:00All you have to do is download the app.
01:02Okay, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
01:05We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
01:11Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each one right.
01:17Tonight I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the easier one that 90% of Britain got right,
01:24and ending with the most challenging question that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
01:30At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
01:34If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game and the £1,000 is transferred to the 1% prize pot.
01:40Whoever gets the furthest in the quiz wins £10,000 and the chance to answer the final 1% question to win everything in the prize pot and take home up to £100,000.
01:53Right, let's get on with it. It's time for our first question.
01:56So this is one that 90% of our survey got right. Let's see how you do.
02:03What are there more of in this picture? Cards or glasses? And your time starts now.
02:23OK, your time is up. Let's see whose lights stay on and are still in the game and how many people are out.
02:38OK, we lost five of you, but let's have a look at the answer.
02:57It's A, cards. It's nine versus seven.
03:02Unfortunately, if your lights are off, then you're out of the game, just like Cynthia Phillips.
03:07Where are you, Cynthia? Hello, Cynthia. How are you?
03:11Get it. I'm get it.
03:13What happened?
03:14I put cards to start with.
03:16Yes.
03:17And then I counted the drinking glasses.
03:19Yeah.
03:20And I put glasses.
03:21So it's still less than the cards.
03:24Yeah, I know.
03:25I'm sorry, Cynthia.
03:26Not half as sorry as I am.
03:28What made you apply, Cynthia?
03:30Well, when I was 50, I had a flying lesson.
03:33Oh, OK.
03:34When I was 60, I'd done an up sale.
03:37OK.
03:38When I was 70, I had my head shaved for charity.
03:41OK.
03:42And now I'm 80, I wanted to come on this game show.
03:46I've got a zip line wire lined up.
03:49And more than that, I wanted to meet you.
03:51Well, that's very nice. Thank you.
03:53Can I just check?
03:56There's no connection between the zip line wire and meeting me.
03:59You're not going to just suddenly come at me.
04:01And here they come!
04:03Zicking me with your glasses!
04:05Can we start again?
04:08Can we start again?
04:09No.
04:10All right.
04:11There are 95 people still left in the game.
04:13And the thousand pounds of everyone who got the question wrong
04:16now goes into the prize pot.
04:17Let's see what that's done to the total.
04:22Five thousand pounds!
04:24Right.
04:25Time for the 80% question.
04:26This is a question that 80% of people we asked in the survey got right.
04:31Let's see how you manage tonight.
04:37Which of these faces is not in the picture?
04:40And your time starts now.
04:46All these people are getting their passport applications rejected.
04:56Okay, your time is up.
05:06Let's see who got it right.
05:22Right, we lost two people there.
05:23Let's have a look at the answer.
05:26It's C.
05:28Someone who got that wrong is Joe Lammas.
05:30Unlucky Joe.
05:31Who did you put?
05:32I put A.
05:33Okay.
05:34I just couldn't do it.
05:35It was a tricky one, that.
05:36What do you do, Joe?
05:37I have the best job in the world.
05:39I sell sweets and chocolate.
05:41Do you?
05:42I do.
05:43I want your job.
05:44What kind of chocolates do you sell?
05:45Mars, Snickers, Galaxy, Maltesers, Skittles.
05:49What's your favourite?
05:50Maltesers is my favourite.
05:51Really?
05:52I like a Snickers as well.
05:53Are you a biter or a sucker?
05:55There are two different types of people with Maltesers.
05:59I think I'm a sucker.
06:00Just ignore the fact that everyone made their own joke up.
06:02Do you have sensible chat about Maltesers?
06:04I think I'm a sucker.
06:05I'm the same.
06:06Are you?
06:07I love a sucker.
06:08And then when it gets down to that, just ignore them, they will go away.
06:12When it goes down to that bit in the middle, yes, I just take it out of my mouth.
06:16I don't want that bit.
06:17Now listen, unlucky Joe.
06:19Right, let's see what's done to the prize pot.
06:217,000 pounds.
06:227,000 pounds.
06:23Okay, we are on to the 70% question.
06:28Let's take a look at this one.
06:33What replaces the question mark in this sequence?
06:36And your time starts now.
06:38These first five words are my profile on Tinder.
06:43I say Tinder, I mean Grindr.
06:46Ok, your time is up.
07:03Let's see if you've got it right.
07:05Wow.
07:29There are now more blue people than a Smurf convention.
07:32We have just lost 21 people.
07:35Let's have a look at the answer.
07:36It is A, big.
07:39The words all have an opposite within the sequence.
07:41Hot, cold.
07:42Hard, easy.
07:43Big replaces the question mark as the opposite of small.
07:46Someone who didn't get it right is Steven Moran.
07:50What did you put?
07:51I ran out of time.
07:52I didn't put anything.
07:53What do you do, Steven?
07:54Work for a bank.
07:55I've had a lot of jobs in the past.
07:57Have you?
07:58Like what?
07:59I've previously been a trainee.
08:00I had to have a controller.
08:01Let me go.
08:02That's always a worry.
08:03I know.
08:04What do you mean you have to let you go?
08:06I crashed two planes.
08:07In a simulator.
08:08They don't let you near real planes for like three years.
08:12Into each other or separate incidents?
08:14If they get within five miles, you're in trouble.
08:16But I hit them.
08:17They actually made contact in the simulator?
08:19Yeah.
08:20And you got sacked immediately?
08:22Well, yeah.
08:23For good reason.
08:24Yeah, yeah.
08:25I mean, I would say to get two planes to come into contact with each other,
08:27it's almost like you've got to go out of your way to do that.
08:29I couldn't have done it if I tried.
08:30I didn't even notice.
08:31You didn't notice them crashing into them?
08:32No, because it's not animated with explosions and now it's just dots on a screen.
08:36How can you not notice the two dots getting together?
08:38Because they quite often go across one another if they're at different heights.
08:41Right.
08:42Sounds to me like you don't know what you're talking about, mate.
08:44Yeah.
08:45That's probably why they got rid of you.
08:46Yeah.
08:47Any other jobs?
08:48I've also worked as a royal butler.
08:49Have you?
08:50Yeah.
08:51To which royal?
08:52I...
08:53I shouldn't...
08:54I couldn't say.
08:55You can't say?
08:56No.
08:57Is it one of the main ones?
08:58You definitely know who they are.
08:59And you don't want to say?
09:00Oh, hang on.
09:01If you don't want to say, I think we know which one it is.
09:03He may have had some Brad Press.
09:04Well, it's ITV.
09:05Let's keep it light.
09:07Listen, unlucky Stephen.
09:08Someone with a great name who's out.
09:10Is this a joke name or is this a real name?
09:12Holly Wood.
09:13It's me.
09:14Hi.
09:15Hello, Hollywood.
09:16Hi.
09:17I'm Gutted.
09:18I couldn't figure out what it was, obviously.
09:19Oh, dear.
09:20It's ironic that your name's Hollywood and your name literally isn't in lights anymore.
09:23I know.
09:24I know.
09:25I went on the hunt for a comedy name.
09:27Oh, I see.
09:28So it's not your real name?
09:29No, it is my real name.
09:30No, but I mean you chose Wood.
09:32It's not your maiden name.
09:33It's not my maiden name.
09:34I love the idea that you chose your husband based on the funny name.
09:37Absolutely.
09:38Not because of him?
09:39Part of the criteria.
09:40What were you before Holly Wood?
09:41It was Vans on Dirt.
09:42Okay.
09:43Vans on Dirt?
09:44Yeah.
09:45Vans on Dirt.
09:46Have you found some dirt on that royal we cannot mention?
09:49Never mind.
09:50Thanks for coming along.
09:51Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
09:5328,000 pounds.
09:54Okay, it's time for the 60% question.
09:55Let's take a look.
09:56Which of the words below is the only one that doesn't do the following?
10:10Make a four-letter word if you remove the first letter and make a three-letter word if
10:15you remove the new first letter.
10:18Okay, your time starts now.
10:19Welll, let's take a look.
10:21Now, we need aитесь now.
10:34Now, let's go.
10:35Okay, your time is up.
10:51Let's see who got it right.
11:05Right, we lost five people, though.
11:11Let's have a look at the answer.
11:13It's D, pinch, inch, but that does not make a third word.
11:17Somebody who got it wrong is Caroline Goodall.
11:20Yeah.
11:21What did you put, Caroline?
11:22So I put B, then I changed it to C,
11:25and then at the last minute I realised it was D.
11:28Okay.
11:28What was wrong with A?
11:31What do you do, Caroline?
11:32So I work on the railway.
11:34I've been on the railway for 25 years.
11:36I do, like, the first-class service.
11:38Do you?
11:38Yeah, we get all the famous people.
11:40Oh, like who?
11:41I once shared a chocolate bar with a very famous footballer.
11:45I'm not sure if I can say the name, because I work on the railway now.
11:48Was it one of those difficult-to-pronounce Spanish names?
11:51Well, he's kind of a...
11:52Oh, he's a famous one, but you don't want to mention him?
11:54No, I don't want to mention him, because he's one of our customers.
11:56Not a member of the royal family, is he?
11:57Because we don't want to mention him either, do we?
11:59No.
11:59But he's one of your regular customers on the train,
12:02and you don't think it's right to mention him?
12:03No.
12:03I'll probably be able to work it out.
12:04You tell me the type of chocolate.
12:06It was the dairy milk.
12:07David Beckham.
12:09I couldn't say.
12:10Is it David Beckham?
12:11I couldn't say.
12:13Oh, my gosh, it's David Beckham!
12:16He ate half of it.
12:17So he ate half of it.
12:18He's left the other half.
12:19The cleaner was going to get rid of it, and I was like, well...
12:21Well, this is my, like, little claim to fame.
12:26I'm quite eating it.
12:29We were imagining a story where he's gone,
12:32hello, Caroline, do you want to come and say, okay?
12:34And you sat with him, hey, you look like a nice dad.
12:36Do you want half my chocolate bar?
12:38And it's all lovely, and he's broken half off.
12:40The reality is, you never spoke to him.
12:42He left it on the table, and you stopped the cleaner putting it in the bit.
12:45So, well done, Caroline.
12:48Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
12:53£33,000.
12:55So, time for a quick break.
12:57We've lost 33 people here already.
12:59Hope you're doing okay at home.
13:00And don't forget, we've got an app you can download
13:02for people who find watching TV on its own just a bit too old-fashioned.
13:06After the break, we'll be moving closer
13:07to seeing if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
13:10See you in a bit.
13:15Welcome back to the 1% club.
13:23We started off with 100 people, and are now down to 67.
13:26The person who does best here tonight
13:28could be going home with up to £100,000.
13:33So, well done to everyone who's still in the game.
13:35And from now on, we are going to give you the option
13:37to pay for a pass to the next question.
13:39And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
13:42However, if you get as far as the 30% question
13:45without using your pass,
13:46you'll get a chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
13:49Right, it's time for the 50% question.
13:55Let's take a look.
13:57Joy wants to make friendship bracelets
13:59using her alphabet beads
14:01for her pals Leon, Cora, Sita and Nate.
14:05But she only has the beads to make three of them.
14:08Which friend will not get a bracelet?
14:11Okay, your 30 seconds starts now.
14:13I'll see you next time.
14:14I'll see you next time.
14:44Okay, your time is up.
14:45Let's see who got it right.
15:00Right, we lost one person.
15:01Let's have a look at the answer.
15:02It is Cora.
15:05There is no R beads.
15:06Now, there are five of you that also didn't know it,
15:09but they used their pass.
15:10Richard Bounds.
15:11Where are you, Richard?
15:12Really?
15:12You didn't have a clue?
15:13I thought it was like there was enough letters for all of them,
15:16but you had to kind of work out if you made these.
15:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:20Now, it's not one you can double check as well.
15:22No, I know.
15:23What do you do, Richard?
15:24I'm a sort of management consultant.
15:26Not a management consultant.
15:27Sort of a management consultant.
15:28Why sort?
15:29I'm like a management consultant.
15:31Why are you not a management consultant?
15:32I suppose I am a management consultant.
15:35You're a management consultant, are you?
15:36I guess so.
15:37I think I can see why you struggle with it.
15:38Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
15:39You've had too many letters, but they don't need to be there.
15:42Yes, correct.
15:43What do you do in your spare time?
15:44I like to spot clouds.
15:46Well, like spotting clouds.
15:48No, I do like to spot clouds.
15:50Oh, you like to spot clouds.
15:51It's not like spotting clouds.
15:52No.
15:52Right, because I don't particularly enjoy doing that,
15:55but I spot clouds as well all the time.
15:57What's the difference between being cloudy and you?
15:59I'm the fifth best cloud spotter in the world.
16:02You are not.
16:03Yes, I am.
16:04Big head.
16:06It's just a fact.
16:07First of all, how do you know that?
16:09Why the fifth?
16:10Because there's an app you can, like, spot clouds and submit them,
16:13and there's a lead table, and I'm the fifth best at spotting them.
16:18How many different types of clouds are there?
16:20I mean, you should know this.
16:21You're the fifth best in the world.
16:23Yeah.
16:23If you don't know it,
16:24there's only other four people in the whole world at will.
16:27Well, it depends whether you include an optical phenomena.
16:30You know damn well I was including optical phenomena.
16:31I know.
16:32All right.
16:32So, about 40.
16:34About 40.
16:3540 different types of cloud.
16:37What is your favourite cloud?
16:39Oh, well, it'd be a lenticularis.
16:41Oh, I love them.
16:42That's what everyone says.
16:43Hang on.
16:43Are they the big, white, fluffy ones?
16:45Um...
16:45Oh, no.
16:46I'm thinking of all clouds.
16:49Listen.
16:50Well done.
16:50You're still with us.
16:51Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
16:52£39,000.
16:57£39,000.
16:58OK.
16:59It's time for the 45% question.
17:03Let's take a look.
17:06One of these clocks is 10 minutes fast.
17:08One is five minutes slow.
17:10One is five minutes fast.
17:12And one shows the right time.
17:14Which clock shows the right time?
17:16Your time starts now.
17:18Two封 borrowers.
17:20Make asprings Ottoman.
17:22ou no어로 stringentWithStybilloo.
17:25Our job begins to take on Mother's hand.
17:27This is the right time.
17:28Four
17:37pes準備 gold find him.
17:38You have to do it.
17:39You have to do it.
17:39You have to do it.
17:40She has to do it.
17:41You have to do it.
17:42It works.
17:42You have to do it.
17:43It works with that.
17:43You have to do it.
17:45You have to do it.
17:46OK, time is up. Let's see who's lights are still on.
18:09Right, we lost six people. Let's have a look at the answer.
18:12It is B, 11.45. The slowest clock is the one with the earliest time,
18:17so the clock showing 11.40 is five minutes slow.
18:20The correct time is, therefore, 11.45.
18:23Someone who got that wrong is Sheldon Brito.
18:25Hello, Sheldon.
18:26Hiya. How are you?
18:27Good, thank you. You?
18:28Yeah, I'm all right, thank you. What did you put?
18:30I put A.
18:32You put 11.40, which is the slowest time.
18:35I know.
18:36But, you know, at least there's some logic to it.
18:38Yeah.
18:39What do you do, Sheldon?
18:40I work with Walker's Crisps and R&D, which is research and development.
18:43Do you get loads of free ones?
18:45We do sometimes.
18:46What's your favourite flavour?
18:47All the flavours are beautiful.
18:50All right, mate. Have a day off.
18:53But seriously, what's your favourite flavour?
18:55Sensation, the wasabi and ginger flavour.
18:58All right. That clearly sounds like a marketing man
19:00who's struggling to sell them and trying to big them up.
19:02It's a bit like they say which child you prefer.
19:04You always say the one you like the least, don't you?
19:06Yeah.
19:07No, I don't.
19:08What would you have done with the money?
19:10I would like to learn scuba diving in Mexico.
19:13Oh.
19:14Yep.
19:15Oh, very nice.
19:16Can you still do that, do you think?
19:17If I can afford.
19:18Okay.
19:19All right.
19:20Well, listen.
19:21Well done, Sheldon, for getting this far.
19:23Someone else who got it wrong is Liv Kennedy.
19:25Hello, Liv.
19:26What did you put?
19:27I put C.
19:28You put 11.50.
19:29Yeah.
19:30Did you have any logic?
19:31I did.
19:32The C for me was the one.
19:33It could have been all of the above that was listed.
19:36Not the right time.
19:37It was all of them.
19:38So it could have been 10 minutes fast compared to 11.40.
19:41Five minutes slow and five minutes fast compared to the other two.
19:44Oh, I see.
19:45Which is stupid and I didn't read it.
19:46No, it's not actually.
19:47At least there's a logic to that.
19:48I get that.
19:49I know.
19:50I'll take that.
19:51Okay.
19:52Well done.
19:53Well done for having some logic.
19:54I haven't won anything though, so it doesn't really matter, does it?
19:55Well done for the nation.
19:56God, I'm smooth.
19:58Sorry to ask Liv.
19:59I have to ask.
20:00What would you have done with the money?
20:01Funnily enough, the 1,000.
20:03I would have bought myself a year supply of crisps.
20:06Would you say a couple of packs of crisps a day?
20:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:09Easy.
20:10Wouldn't it be a lovely thing if the guy from Walkers agreed to get you 750 packets of crisps?
20:14That's not possible.
20:15It's not possible?
20:16That's a shame because it's written down here that Liv is actually scuba diving instructor
20:22in Mexico.
20:23That's a shame, eh?
20:24You blew that up, didn't you?
20:26Never mind.
20:27Unlock it up.
20:28Okay.
20:29Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
20:3257,000 pounds.
20:37Okay.
20:38It's time for the 40% question.
20:41Let's take a look at this one.
20:44The censors have redacted some of the questions below to take out anything they consider too
20:51rude.
20:52From the bits of the question you can see, what is the answer?
20:56Okay.
20:57Your time starts now.
20:58lawsuits that report
21:01areetten of technology.
21:03Beards that train of bags andilippine have in their minds.
21:04It's time to try.
21:05Oh, $19,000.
21:08I'll be back, $16,000.
21:10That's not a fan in it.
21:11And I'll be back.
21:13Or are you maybe not?
21:14Okay, your time is up.
21:30Let's see if you've got it right.
21:44Okay, we lost 15 people.
21:54Let's have a look at the answer.
21:56It's A, the name of which album and, well, I won't read those words out.
22:00That's why they've redacted them.
22:01Now, on this question, a massive 24 people use their pass, including Philip Taborer.
22:08Hello, Philip.
22:09You all right?
22:10You didn't have a clue or you just weren't sure enough?
22:13I thought it was water.
22:15Okay, why?
22:16I can't remember.
22:17Oh, well, it was such a long time ago.
22:19Yeah, and then I thought I'd pass.
22:22Fair enough.
22:22It's safer to pass.
22:23That's what it's for, Philip.
22:24Yes.
22:24Any hobbies, Philip?
22:26Yes, I like feeding the ducks.
22:30I love ducks.
22:31Do you?
22:31Big duck fan.
22:32Do you?
22:33Yeah.
22:33I collect them.
22:35You know them little rubber ducks that you get?
22:36How many have you got in total?
22:38Over 200.
22:39200?
22:39Where do they live?
22:40On windowsills.
22:41Okay.
22:41In drawers, on top of drawers.
22:44You're getting a real picture of your life.
22:45You are, yeah.
22:46Yeah, yeah.
22:46It's quite disturbing.
22:48Yeah, yeah.
22:48I brought one with me today as well.
22:50Special one.
22:51Did you?
22:51It was meant to bring me luck.
22:52Why is this one so special?
22:54Because I called him Lee Quack.
22:57Nice.
22:58Hmm.
22:58There he is, look.
23:03He's been scuba diving.
23:04I was going to say, are you just mocking the man who can't go scuba diving?
23:08What do your friends think of your obsession with ducks?
23:10They think I'm quackers.
23:13Is that what all this was leading to?
23:15Yes.
23:16Welcome to my world.
23:18Well done, Philip.
23:19You're still with us.
23:20Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
23:2185,000 pounds.
23:28Right.
23:29Let's move on to the 35% question.
23:33Here it is.
23:35What five-letter word can be formed by following all the advice below?
23:40Okay.
23:41You have 30 seconds and your time starts now.
23:43Let's move on to the 35% question.
24:13Okay, your time is up.
24:14Let's see if you've got it right and how many people are out.
24:37Right, we've lost 12 people.
24:38Let's have a look at the answer.
24:40It's crowd.
24:42And annoyingly, it's a picture of a crowd behind, which I haven't just spotted.
24:46Somebody who got it wrong is Lee Parkinson.
24:48Lee, where are you?
24:49Hello.
24:50What did you put?
24:51I think I put cells.
24:52I was trying to make three, five-letter words out of the rest of the...
24:54Yeah.
24:55I think it's a tricky one, this.
24:56What do you do, Lee?
24:57Present bullseye.
24:59No.
25:00No.
25:00When I do get told, I do look like Jim Bowen.
25:02Do you?
25:03Yeah.
25:03Have you been told that before?
25:04Yes, many times.
25:05Ah, that's smashing.
25:06Great.
25:07Super.
25:07But what, you could have won.
25:10Yeah, what you could have won.
25:1197,000.
25:14Unlucky Lee.
25:15Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
25:16OK, we're already on £89,000.
25:22Try for a quick break.
25:23Well done to everyone still in the game.
25:24We'll see you in a bit when someone here can win up to £100,000.
25:39Welcome back to the 1% Club.
25:40We've been asking questions which have been tested out on a cross-section of the British public.
25:44We've been whittling down the contestants here tonight and are left with 33 people with their lights still on.
25:49As a reward, any contestant who hasn't played their pass and still has their £1,000 now has a choice.
25:54Play on for the big money in the prize pot, or you can take your £1,000 and leave the quiz right now.
25:59So first of all, let's see which players still have their £1,000.
26:03So, those of you with your lights on, you can take your money and leave the show if you want.
26:08Please make your decision now.
26:14Right, three of you have decided to take your £1,000 and leave the game, including Bryony Chung.
26:28Where are you, Bryony?
26:29Yeah.
26:29Didn't fancy your chances at the big money?
26:31No.
26:32I'm surprised I got this far, and I'm scared now.
26:35I was scared the whole time, but I'm really scared now.
26:37Because you're waiting to see what the answer is?
26:39Yeah, exactly.
26:40What are you going to do with your £1,000?
26:42So, I've always had a phobia of fruit.
26:46What do you mean, a phobia of fruit?
26:47You know how people have a phobia of spiders?
26:49Like, if a spider comes towards them, they'll scream and run away.
26:52Yeah, those things that can bite you and potentially kill you.
26:54No, but I do that with fruit.
26:55So, if anyone's eating a piece of fruit near me, I'll walk away.
26:59Or if, like, you open a bin and it smells of fruit, I'll literally gag.
27:01Sometimes I'll throw up.
27:03When I was little, my brother used to chase me around the house with a banana and I'd cry.
27:06So, I'd get hypnosis to try and get rid of that phobia.
27:10Right.
27:11I mean, I was hoping you'd say something like Disneyland.
27:13It's turned out to be a therapy session.
27:16Okay, well, listen.
27:17You've got £1,000.
27:18Well done.
27:18And well done to everyone else who's got their £1,000.
27:23So, the rest of you have decided to play on.
27:26Let's see if that gamble will pay off.
27:27And if any of you can go all the way and join the 1% club.
27:30Okay, it's time for the 30% question.
27:33Here it is.
27:36How many complete pairs of shoes are in this picture?
27:40And your time starts now.
27:42How many complete pairs of shoes are in this picture?
27:45Well done.
27:46I will not do that.
27:49How many complete pairs of shoes are in this picture?
28:00I have no idea.
28:04Oh, my heart is in this picture.
28:06I have no idea.
28:08Wait, wait.
28:09What have you done?
28:09I have no idea.
28:10Okay, your time is up. Let's see if you got it right.
28:30Right, we lost four people there. Let's have a look at the answer.
28:34It's two. And there they are.
28:37So we have lost Andrew Bottomley. Where are you, Andrew?
28:39Here, Lee.
28:40Are you at the top?
28:41No, down the bottom.
28:42Oh, no, you're at the bottom, Lee.
28:44I thought that was worth more.
28:46What did you put?
28:47Put three.
28:48Why did you put three?
28:49I counted one set of shoes that I thought came to five and took it away from eight,
28:54and thought, well, the three must be what's left as pairs.
28:58That is literally the way to do it, isn't it? That is the logical way.
29:02So as a lady here saying something interesting, what did you say?
29:05I didn't even see the odd shoes.
29:06Well, how many shoes did you think there were?
29:08I don't know.
29:09Didn't really count them.
29:10I think the two for you.
29:11Answer them is quite important to the question.
29:13I'm already out.
29:14What did you grow out on?
29:15Seventy.
29:16Seventy?
29:17Yeah.
29:18That surprises me.
29:19Yeah.
29:20I've got them all right.
29:21I don't think you know what I mean.
29:22I've got them right.
29:23Okay, listen.
29:24You've got them right since?
29:25Yeah.
29:26Every single one of them.
29:27Even that one.
29:28Since 78, you've got every one of them right.
29:29Yeah.
29:30That is bull****.
29:31So, that is brilliant, I meant to say.
29:34But you've got this one right as well.
29:35Yeah.
29:36You've got it right even though you didn't count the shoes.
29:38Well, yeah.
29:39Do you know the way there's a left and a right too?
29:40Right.
29:41That's how it looked originally.
29:42Yeah.
29:43And there's only two pairs.
29:44Well, we know that now.
29:45Yes.
29:46Right, okay.
29:47So, on the top row.
29:48You're very full of yourself, Mrs. 70%.
29:50So, on the top row, the third and the fourth one.
29:53Yeah.
29:54That's a pair.
29:55Yes.
29:56On the bottom row, the two middle ones, that's a pair.
29:57Yeah.
29:58So, none of the other ones could have been a pair.
30:00Ah, because you're literally seeing them together.
30:02Yeah.
30:03To be fair, she is right.
30:04Yeah.
30:05Can I get my life back on now?
30:10No.
30:11Unlucky, Andrew.
30:12So, let's have a look.
30:13Let's have a look at what that's done to the prize pot.
30:16It's done nothing.
30:17£89,000.
30:18The people that were out had already used their packs.
30:21Okay.
30:22We are at a 25% stage now.
30:26Here's the question.
30:29Someone has swapped teacups one and nine on this shop display.
30:33If they are swapped back, how many times in total can the word tea be read horizontally,
30:39vertically or diagonally in any direction?
30:43The time starts now.
30:44The time starts now.
30:45The time starts now.
30:46While we have taken a look in in a pop of,
30:48as easily as soon as a playerặcem carbon,
30:49as sweet as possible considerations.
30:51Against going on.
30:52But seeing…
30:53The time goes...
30:54Leave.
30:55Leave.
30:56días…
30:57Steack up.
30:58Leave.
30:592 hair.
31:00Five...
31:01Death coarse...
31:02Okay, your time is up.
31:17Let's see if you've got it right.
31:32Right, we've lost six people there.
31:37Let's have a look at the answer.
31:39It's five.
31:40There they are.
31:42Okay, so we have lost Roche Bale's Gunga Bissoon.
31:46Hello.
31:47What did you put?
31:48I put four.
31:48Oh, you just missed one.
31:49Which one did you miss?
31:50The fifth one.
31:53Very good.
31:59Which one on the diagram?
32:00Sorry mate, so the bottom left is going upwards diagonally.
32:04So the bottom left to top right?
32:06Yeah, that's all.
32:06Okay.
32:08What do you do, Roche?
32:09I'm being a bit of a smartass.
32:11I work in food, actually, in qualities.
32:13I've actually worked at walkers.
32:15Oh, you've worked at walkers?
32:16They're getting a lot of plugs tonight, aren't they?
32:17Yes.
32:17Can you give this lady some free crisps?
32:20Well, I can't actually.
32:22They keep putting them in your face and then pulling them away, don't they?
32:25What do you do now?
32:26Well, I work in vitamins and pharmaceutical.
32:28You've finally realised it's not good for you all, this stuff.
32:31I know.
32:32And vitamins.
32:33Yeah, I know.
32:33Well, you've got to try something different.
32:34Yeah, yeah.
32:35What do you think about people that don't eat fruit?
32:37Do you think they need vitamins?
32:38Yeah, I can do you a deal if you want.
32:40Please don't deal in pharmaceuticals live on television.
32:42No, of course not.
32:43Of course not.
32:44OK, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
32:50£90,000.
32:54Right.
32:55We've got 20 people still in the game and we're down to the 20% question now.
32:59Which of these options is the only one that does not have a pair?
33:09Your time starts now.
33:10What do you mean?
33:27Okay, your time is up, let's see if we've got it right.
33:57Right, we lost 11 people on that one. Let's have a look at the answer. It's B, cricket.
34:08We have pool, pool, bowls, bowls, squash, squash.
34:12Someone who got it right is Lisa Horsburgh. Hello, Lisa.
34:15Hello. How are you? Good, thank you.
34:17Well done. Thank you. Did you think you were going to get this far?
34:20No. And what would you have done with the money if you'd have won?
34:24Sorry, what will you do with the money if you would? Take it's a chance.
34:29I do all the DIY in my house. My husband, I just got married last week.
34:34Did you? I said that out loud.
34:37Congratulations.
34:39My husband doesn't do the DIY. But if I just win the 10,000, I would just buy a load of DIY tools.
34:47Oh, okay. Does he know this? Is he wanting to give up his...
34:50It's not his money. Oh, married now. Oh, hello.
34:53It started early, hasn't it?
34:56Listen, well done, Lisa, for getting this far.
34:58Yeah.
34:59Someone else who's still with us is Connor Taylor.
35:00Where are you, Connor? I'm here, Lee. Hello.
35:02Hello, Connor. What do you do?
35:03Currently work in IT, but I used to work for...
35:07I used to work as a barista as well. It's probably what I spent most of my time doing.
35:10Okay.
35:11Yeah. Took part in a few competitions as well.
35:13So I entered like a global barista competition.
35:16I mean, that is brilliant, but...
35:18Yeah.
35:19How can you do it as a competition?
35:20Isn't it like, I'll have a coffee with some milk in, please?
35:22Well, there you go.
35:23Gold medal.
35:24Yeah.
35:25Well, you've got all like the fancy art and stuff.
35:27Oh, do you do the art?
35:28Yeah, yeah, yeah.
35:29Have you seen the one where they can print your face on it?
35:30I have. It's freaky though. I don't think I'd ever do that.
35:32I like the idea of just my face and there's someone just licking my face before they drink their coffee.
35:36I don't like that idea at all.
35:38Now, what's wrong with my face?
35:39Well, it's more of someone licking my face, I think.
35:41Oh, it's my face. I was talking about my face.
35:43I would buy one of those coffees, I think.
35:46Yeah, that's fine.
35:47Would you lick my face?
35:48Well, yeah. Now I know you like it.
35:49I feel that. It's not so much a quiz show as we're at Speed Dated.
35:52Have you still got a pass?
35:53I do. We still have my pass.
35:55Well done. You must be one of the favourites now.
35:57Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
35:5992,000 pounds.
36:04Right, we're getting close to the end.
36:06It's now time for the 15% question.
36:11Let's take a look at this one.
36:13How many four-letter words can be found in a straight line of boxes in any direction,
36:18either horizontally or vertically in this grid?
36:22And the time starts now.
36:29Okay, your time is up. Let's see whose lights are still on.
36:57Wow, we lost seven of you on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
37:18There it is. Full, Moon, Full, Loop and Scent.
37:23That means that we've actually only got two people left in the quiz.
37:29One of them is Lisa Horsburgh and the other one is Zach Pabani.
37:32Right, Zach?
37:37Zach, did you think that you were going to be one of the last two players?
37:42No, not at all.
37:44And what are you going to do with all this money if you win it?
37:46Well, the first thing I'd do is go and buy a pair of trainers.
37:50What, with a hundred grand?
37:51Yeah.
37:52To make it justifiable, the trainers that I want are £3,700.
37:56You're going to spend £3,700 a pair of trainers?
37:59Yeah.
38:00It's moments like this when I wish the woman who wanted a year's supply Chris would.
38:03Do you collect trainers?
38:05Er, yeah. Yeah, a little bit, yeah.
38:07How many have you got?
38:08Over 30.
38:09And how many of them do you work?
38:11Three.
38:12And what do you do with the other 27?
38:13Look at them.
38:14You look at your trainers like a piece of art?
38:16Yeah, they're all in clear boxes in my house.
38:19OK.
38:20What's your most expensive pair of sofa?
38:22A pair of Louis Vuitton grey trainers.
38:24But the ones that I want are blue Swarovski encrusted Louis Vuitton trainers.
38:29OK.
38:30Listen, Zach, you are one of only two people left in the show,
38:33but you're in a very strong position because you have a pass.
38:37Which means...
38:41Which means that Lisa, who hasn't got a pass,
38:43if he uses the pass next time, you have to get it right.
38:46So no pressure.
38:49OK.
38:50Well done, Lisa.
38:51Well done, Zach.
38:52You are down to the final two.
38:53Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
38:58For £96,000.
39:01So, we're down to our last two players.
39:03After the break, we'll find out which of our remaining contestants
39:05could go on to play the 1% question.
39:07See you in a bit.
39:18Welcome back to the 1% Club.
39:20We are very nearly at the point where we will discover who our winner will be.
39:23Now, here's how the end of the game works.
39:25Whoever does the best here tonight will win £10,000.
39:28But, if they're feeling brave, they can risk their £10,000 by trying to answer the 1% question.
39:34Get it right, and they will win everything in the prize pot, which is currently sitting at...
39:41£96,000.
39:43So, we do only have two people left, Lisa Horsburgh and Zach Pabani.
39:50And remember, Zach, because you still have your £1,000, you can pay for a pass, but you can't use it on the 1% question.
39:57But if you've still got it at the 1% question, you're guaranteed to keep that £1,000 no matter what happens.
40:02Right, so, only two people left in the quiz, and it's now time for the 10% question.
40:10Here it is.
40:13If you start with the number in the caterpillar's head, and alternately add and subtract each number in turn as you move along the body,
40:23what number will you have at the end?
40:26And your time starts now.
40:32OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
41:00Right, we lost one prize for that. Let's have a look at the answer.
41:19It's 14, and there are the maths.
41:23Unlucky, Lisa, you put 15. You were one out. That's really bad luck.
41:26That means we have a winner. Congratulations to Zach Pavani. You've just won £10,000.
41:32And made it to the 1% question. And now to join me.
41:43Zach, because you've done so well, I made it to our final question. You win £10,000.
41:47But now you're facing a dilemma. You can leave the show tonight and take the £10,000, or you can risk it all by attempting the 1% question.
41:59Get it right, you win everything in the prize pot, which stands at...
42:02£97,000.
42:03It's now time to make your decision. So, what are you thinking?
42:15I think the £10,000 is probably what I'm thinking.
42:18You think you're going to keep it?
42:19If there were more people down here, it would have been maybe a different story, but...
42:22Was that the plan?
42:23Yeah, I think so.
42:25So, what's your decision going to be?
42:26I think I'm going to go for this. We're going to keep the 10 guns.
42:29Oh my gosh, he almost said I'm going for it.
42:31I'm afraid to say the rules are we have to take your first...
42:35Zach, well done. You've just won £10,000.
42:41Do you mind if we have a look? Will it irritate you?
42:43No, not at all.
42:45Let's have a look then.
42:46OK, this would have been your 1% question.
42:50Let's take a look.
42:56Answer this question.
42:59OK, you have 30 seconds and your time starts now.
43:26OK, your time is up. It doesn't matter either way, but we may as well ask you, what would you have put?
43:38I can't even...
43:40I don't know.
43:41You didn't have anything at all?
43:42No.
43:43Well, you made the right decision. Well done. Congratulations, Zach.
43:48Right, let's have a look at the answer.
43:50It's Spain. The number split has to be 19, 16, 1, 9 and 14.
43:56If they were single digits, it would make A-I-A-F-A-I-A-D, which is not a country.
44:02Zach, you get to take home your £10,000. Well done.
44:06See you next time, where hopefully someone will go all the way and join the 1% Club. Good night.
