00:00Well there are two rallies being held in the Melbourne CBD. The one behind me is a counter
00:07protest to a rally that's happening outside of the Parliament that's just kicking off
00:13now. So that rally outside of the Parliament is a March for Australia protest which is
00:18an anti-immigration rally. It's their second time rallying, the first time being in August
00:24and these rallies are happening in cities and some towns across Australia. Now the counter
00:29protest behind me that kicked off at the State Library. They're now marching down towards
00:33Parliament where that March for Australia rally is being held. There's almost a thousand
00:38people here and they've walked along the main streets of Melbourne. Their message today during
00:44speeches we heard is that every time those anti-immigration rallies occur they will be here
00:50to oppose. They are standing up against racism and saying there's no room for fascism in this
00:55state. There's been a few messages we've heard. There's Palestine flags, the Free Palestine
01:00message is still being told and also First Nations people that are leading the protest still calling
01:06for sovereignty and treaty. So there is a large police presence in the city as well today and
01:13they're trying to keep these two groups apart and there are additional powers given to the police
01:18today as well. They can search anyone for weapons and they will also be able to tell anyone wearing a
01:24mask or face covering to leave the city and keeping safety within the Melbourne CBD.
