00:00I agree with your small resume
00:27about the game.
00:31I think we did start very well.
00:34The first 25-30 minutes they were in a very good level from us.
00:38The way our organisation kept them very away from creating clear chances and whatever,
00:48I think the way we set up ourselves, we knew that the position of Rice or Carly Fiori there
00:53in the pocket area with Trossard out wide, they can try to do always from that situation
00:58something and of course from 1v1 situations from Trossard.
01:02Most of the times we did control very well and the reality, as you said, we had two very
01:06good chances from Harry Wilson to score.
01:11And even the first corner from the game, the combination from the edge of the box, from
01:15ourselves, where TC strike the ball, the ball was going in the direction of the goal clear
01:18player and touching one player from Arsenal, a good block from them, was another good
01:23chance from us.
01:24Until that moment, nothing from Arsenal in terms of chances.
01:27As you said, the last 15 minutes of the first half, they pushed more forward, they controlled
01:32more the game, not with big chances, some good shots from the edge of the box, not clear chances
01:37to score.
01:38In the second half they started better, but the reality is that until they scored and they
01:43started leading the score, nothing really special from them.
01:46I think we kept them away most of the time, not playing so well like the first 30 minutes.
01:50I would like to see our team with better quality to the ball.
01:53We knew that Arsenal would come to press us higher and sometimes it's not easy, but I
01:58think we had the chances to play more and to connect a little bit more our game and to
02:02have moments to settle our game because it will give us the chance to breathe a little
02:05bit more and to boost our confidence in the game.
02:08Because if you don't have the ball, it's more difficult for us, we don't like, Arsenal obligate
02:12us to don't have, and they scored in one moment.
02:15I think we prepared and most of the time we did it very well, the way we set up ourselves
02:21and we faced the corners and the free kicks from Arsenal.
02:26We tried to block the run and to let Gabriel to go with all that power in the balls.
02:32Most of the time Sessegnon and Harry Wilson, they did it very well.
02:34In that moment, they opened the path for him to run and you see how high he jumped in that
02:40moment.
02:41It was very difficult, of course, for us to win that challenge in the air with the power
02:44that he came to the ball or you stop him to go with that power or it's going to be more
02:47difficult.
02:48Because most of the players, they were blocked inside the box on that flick.
02:52Of course, after it's more difficult for you to control the far post, even if you had
02:55the chances to control better the far post touch from Trossard.
02:58Trossard made an impact in the game, came a bad decision from Antoni Teller, giving the
03:03penalty for them.
03:04That was a clear touch from Kevin on the ball, Antoni Teller, with a good view, so completely
03:12different in that moment.
03:16But it's what it is, it's been our story so far.
03:19This type of decision is lucky that tonight the VAR was with open eyes to see what really
03:24happened on the pitch and boosted a bit the stadium, boosted a bit ourselves, that bad
03:30decision from Antoni Teller.
03:32We tried from the bench.
03:33Of course, we matched more them, we faced more of the game, we had some dangerous moments
03:38around but not clear chances until the last game.
03:40Of course, we tried another, some injuries from Joaquin Anders out, Tom Carney out.
03:45We had a lot of absences right now, but the attitude from the players, the work ethic,
03:50our organisation most of the time was there, Arsenal is in a great moment, it's a tough
03:54side to play against.
03:56Better first half from us, I would like to see us second half to do more or less what
04:00we did the first half of the game, but Arsenal in some moments obligate us to do things that
04:04we don't like.
04:07How serious are those injuries to Tony and Amster?
04:11You have to wait, Joaquin is a hamstring injury, he felt something, now it's just for
04:17us a matter of time to know if it's something more serious or minor injury there, it's really
04:23what will come in the next few hours, few days after the exams because that is a muscle injury,
04:29it is, just to realise how serious it can be.
04:33Tom Carney was something in his back, he felt when he jumped for one ball, he doesn't look
04:36so serious, he's a different one, it was a knock there, he was not feeling good, I think
04:43that next week is going to be, it's not because of that situation, probably that is going to
04:47be another absence for us, but Joaquin could be out.
04:50How hard is it to stop after scoring from all corners, Gabriele in particular, is it frustrating
04:55that they did it or is it one of those things that's just so hard to stop?
05:00Okay, it's hard to stop when we, because set pieces and defensive and offensive, but offensive
05:06set pieces, it's not just about the one or two, three players, it's about the takers
05:12that they are lucky because they are very good takers too and all that stuff and you have,
05:18it's a hard challenge for you, like when Arsenal face the other teams, it's a hard challenge for
05:22them to face, to face it and to consider from set pieces, I think it's both situations, it's not just
05:26for the teams that they play against, of course they have, I think they scored more than 60%
05:31of their goals, I think, from set pieces, showed their power in that moment.
05:36What is the frustration for us that we felt that we were well prepared for that moment and we showed
05:40throughout the game that we were very well prepared for that moment, but this is the type of games
05:44you have to keep the focus 95, 100 minutes there and most of the time we did a very good job,
05:50in one moment we let him to go with power, when most of the times we controlled well and in that moment
05:56the way he jumped was very difficult to control, even as I said before, the far post situation,
06:01we should have control better, even when the flick comes in the front post, it's always more difficult
06:06after in the far post to control.
06:22For me it's clear, it's just a great example from everybody and should be for all the players,
06:29of course I praise the team and the players from the attitude, but when you have a player that
06:35almost didn't train the last three weeks, of course last week he was in and out,
06:42we tried to manage his situation because of the problem that he had in his back or on the side here,
06:50but was not training, a player at his age and the attitude, the commitment from him,
06:56trying to help in all the moments of the game, probably he was not so fresh in some moments
07:02that we need him fresh because he works so hard for all the balls and he helped the team off the ball as well.
07:09I think he's a great example for everybody, it's so hard to be at the level and to play against these types of teams
07:17and to demand what they demand from ourselves and the whole, apart from us, all the organisation,
07:23but of course we have to praise all for the attitude and the commitment and the togetherness that he showed tonight.
