00:00As a captain, you know, sort of kind of really lifting the moves,
00:02sort of just how important his clothes in a few weeks are.
00:05How much, you know, if there's a doubt over him for participating tomorrow,
00:10how much do you need him as a captain, how much do you need him as a player?
00:13Is this the stage of the season where maybe players even have to be a little bit brave?
00:17How do you see that?
00:22He's the captain for a reason and he has a personality, an aura,
00:27a way to conduct and raise the standards that is very rare to see.
00:31And he does it in any circumstances.
00:33And he's a player that brings so much energy to the team as well
00:37because he's always at it, he's always so focused, always very demanding.
00:41And I'm glad to hear that you like the way he talks because when he talks, he talks.
00:47And he's not someone who needs to be talking constantly
00:49because it's more about actions than talking.
00:53But when he does talk, I think it's very impactful.
00:55And that raveness that I was talking about, you know, is that when players get, you know,
01:01in real estate, you could have six gallons to make it the best season in the club's history.
01:06You could become the greatest manager in the club's history.
01:08But we know that, we know what is at stake.
01:11We need to push it.
01:11We need to push it and everybody has to lead himself and take ownership on the moment
01:17because the impact that you can have in a moment now is going to define the history of the club.
01:23And that's a very powerful thing to have.
01:25And just one thing, that turnaround that you were talking about then,
01:30it's how you shut off that night to go into Fulham as a player
01:36and completely forget, disregard Tuesday.
01:40I mean, I don't know, is that on you?
01:41You know, is that how it should be?
01:44Is that realistic?
01:45Because these two games, you can win them.
01:48You can win them back.
01:50I think it comes down to preparation.
01:52We've done it for nine and a half months now.
01:54So we are used to that.
01:56And we know that we can only focus on one game.
01:59And that game has enough difficulties and challenges that thinking a different way
02:06is not going to be helpful at all.
02:07And the player's reaction immediately after that is,
02:10guys, now it's full and now it's full and now it's full.
02:12Immediately in the dressing room, they know that.
02:14And then we'll have time to prepare the Atletico Madrid.
02:17And after that, we're going to have more separation in games.
02:20So we know that it's this very particular period and short turnaround.
02:24Just focus on Fulham and we'll take care of the rest afterwards.
02:29Charlie, Tom?
02:29Michael, Brighton are bringing in an MMA fighter
02:34to help them deal with set pieces, specialising in blocking and stuff.
02:40What does that tell you about Premier League at the moment,
02:47where are we going with these specialised coaches then?
02:52Probably where we're going is that if we look 30, 40, 50 years ago
02:56in the Premier League or in football, this has already been done.
02:59In a different way, maybe it wasn't in the media, but it's been done.
03:03I know stories about 20, 30 years ago, things that used to be done.
03:07And if they are done today, it looks like it's some innovation and sometimes it's not.
03:12But the same with tactics, we do that, this is genius, we've done that.
03:15No, 50 years ago somebody already did it, so we are recycling the machine.
03:19Could you give an example 20, 30 years ago?
03:21No, because you're going to use it in a way that I don't think is going to be appropriate,
03:26but it's in my head.
03:26And can I ask you about Gabriel, the Premier League key match incident panels,
03:32they're saying it was ascending off, just does that surprise you in that respect?
03:37And which one, sorry?
03:38The Gabriel, they're saying it should have been ascending off,
03:42it should have been a red card.
03:43After the red card of Kuzanoff?
03:45They're saying that wasn't, so just your thoughts on those two and in the end,
03:52have you got a little bit lucky that you've not lost your key player for three games?
03:56Does that surprise you that they said it should be ascending?
03:58No, I don't feel lucky at all.
04:01Are you surprised that they're saying it should have been a red card?
04:04Yes.
04:05Jacob?
04:07You talked about this to be the defining moment for the players,
04:11how do you get them to make sure they embrace that and let them freeze when that comes?
04:20When you have the opportunity to make history in such a way,
04:23I think you have to embrace it.
04:24That's it.
04:25That's what you've been working for.
04:27That's the goal that we set at the start of the season.
04:29So when you pursue a dream and you have it in front of you,
04:32you have to make your very best to achieve it.
04:34And there is nothing else than bringing out your best, that's it.
04:38Just going back to the Brighton MMA point,
04:42some people would say that this is the direction of Premier League going in,
04:45it's too physical, too much focus on said pieces.
04:50They look at the game on Tuesday night and say Premier League side
04:53could never hit the level of the Bayern Munich in PSG.
04:57Do you subscribe to that view or do you think that that's not fair?
05:03Well, there is something that when I look at that game, the Bayern PSG,
05:07it's probably the best game I have ever witnessed on the quality of two teams
05:12and especially the individual quality that the players deliver.
05:15I've never seen something like this.
05:16But when I look at the amount of minutes and the freshness of those players,
05:20then I'm not surprised.
05:21To deliver those moments of quality, you have to be very fresh.
05:24And the difference in the leagues and the way they're competing is night and day.
05:29And you just have to see a lot of stats that have been recently around.
05:32So we are competing in two different worlds.
05:35So you cannot compare one part of that without giving any context to that.
05:39I don't think it's fair.
05:40OK, last couple of minutes.
05:42Is that right?
05:44OK, aside from the obvious results itself,
05:47what do you think would be the variables that they could take
05:48whether you win a trophy or a team?
05:50It's very easy to say win by lose or draw,
05:52but what about the final detail that they would take?
05:56Well, it's so many.
05:57I mean, so many variables in a Premier League match
06:00to understand the outcome of the game, of the result.
06:03And so many of them are so unpredictable to happen.
06:06Take the game where you want it,
06:08and do a lot of the things that you believe are right to achieve the results.
06:13And then this is football.
06:14The margin is so small.
06:16And let's see what happens.
06:17You've been in the main title of the Marines in the past few seasons.
06:20Is there anything in particular in your tenure at Arsenal
06:23that you're kind of thinking about or zeroing in on to learn from?
06:28Yes, have every player available and fit at the best.
06:33C'est fini.
06:33With that, I'm a happy man.
06:35That's the most important thing.
06:37When you see it, you talk about the other two teams.
06:39There's an idea how many players were available.
06:41All of them are the very best.
06:43That's the best important thing.
06:46Can I ask you about the grass and the watering that they've been drinking?
06:50Did you complain that the grass being too low?
06:54And also, would the only half of the pitch
06:56seem to be watered at half time?
06:58Because obviously, the time they were attacking,
07:00they wanted to kind of have it to continue.
07:02No, we have a process every game
07:04to understand that everything is down to the standard that it has to be.
07:07That's our duty.
07:08And that's it.
07:33I think that's the coach's opinion.
07:36He's with him every single day.
07:37And that's it.
07:40I mean, he's the one making the decision.
07:43He's the one that sees and understands better what he's doing.
07:47And Ethan has to respond to that in the right way.
07:51So, it's the same place that William Saliba was there.
07:55Same club.
07:57And the outcome, let's see.
07:59Maybe it's the best thing that can happen for Ethan, for his career.
08:02Maybe, we don't know.
