00:01This film's not afraid to go to some pretty dark places.

00:05So I wondered, what kind of toll did that take on you and what helped bring you out of that post-filming?

00:11Well, I have this thing where I never like to stay in it, so the moment they call it action and cut, I'm in and out.

00:19And having seen partners like Ben Foster, he's incredible and so talented,

00:24so you feel like you can go to these places in a very safe place and then come out of it and I'm back to sit.

00:35The star of this film is someone who's so part of the kind of the zeitgeist at the moment,

00:41and people have such a perception of her, but she seems quite, she enjoys to subvert that perception,

00:47which feels like it's probably somewhere to do with taking a role like this.

00:52Talk me through getting her on board and working with Sydney Sweeney on this.

00:57Yeah, I mean, first of all, it's a true gift to be able to work with Sydney Sweeney.

01:01She's an incredible actor. She takes very daring roles.

01:05I mean, in fact, it was actually seeing her film reality that we knew it had to be her.

01:11And also, I don't know if you know this, but she's a trained kickboxer and MMA fighter since the age of 12.

01:17So we had seen some video and we thought we have to go to her.

01:21And ironically, around that time, we had heard Euphoria was pushing and we knew that she needed a fall slot.

01:30And I remember reading the Deadline article, Euphoria is pushing.

01:34And that morning at 6am, I emailed her agents and I said, this is the one.

01:39Yeah.

01:40And so when, so when she met with Dave and it went incredibly well, the second she read it, she was all in.

01:49And I'll bore you on the full details, but she immediately went into about three months of training,

01:56putting on the weight, learning Christie's moves under, you know, really getting into the depth of her story.

02:02And, you know, I think Sid's an incredible woman and incredible actress.

02:07And I know there's all this noise out there, but she really tries to keep to who she is.

02:12She plays very daring roles and it's a real gift to be able to work with her.
