00:00From Beijing, two key advances in sustainability and clean energy position
00:08shine at the forefront of the fight against the climate crisis.
00:11Our correspondent Bruno Falsi brings us more details.
00:16Hello to the workers of Telesur and to the audience following us in this transmission.
00:21I am in the Chinese capital now to inform you about two significant advances that the country
00:28has made in clean energy and environmental protection.
00:33First, Cosin Solar began the construction of the world's largest concentrated solar power plant
00:42in Quangin province, northwest of China. This 350 megawatt project used thermal storage tower
00:54technology developed in China and has an investment of approximately 760 million dollars.
01:08This plant has received three towers that will feed a single generator, enabling stable electricity
01:16production around the clock, 24 hours. It is expected to generate around 960 million kilowatts
01:26hours of clean energy annually and be fully connected to the grid by September, 2027.
01:37In parallel, the Three North Forestry Program, known as the Great Green Wall,
01:44received the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Achievement Award.
01:51This recognition was given to Rome, in Rome, for the 18th anniversary of the FAO organization.
02:00Highlight the program contribution to agricultural production, food security, poverty reduction,
02:07and income growth. Since its inception in 1978, forest cover in the 13 province it covers has increased from 5%
02:20to the current 14%. Create a vast green barrier against desertification and underscoring China's leadership
02:32in global sustainable development. With this news, we return in the studio of La Habana, Cuba.
