04:12I, Nathan Charles Matthews,

04:16accept I am responsible for the death of Rebecca Watts.

04:19On the 19th of February 2015,

04:27I attended Crown Hill, St George, Bristol

04:30with my girlfriend, Shauna Hoare.

04:35In my car, I had a large bag,

04:37a stun device, handcuffs, tape and mask.

04:42I had developed an idea to scare Rebecca by kidnapping her.

04:47A few minutes after arriving,

04:53Shauna said she wanted a cigarette

04:54and went into the garden.

04:57I went to the boot of my car,

04:59I took out a bag,

05:00went upstairs to the landing

05:01before knocking on Rebecca's door.

05:05She replied,

05:14I cannot be sure which order things happened,

05:17but I used the items I had to subdue Rebecca.

05:22During the short struggle,

05:23my mask slipped

05:24and Rebecca was able to see my face.

05:27This caused me to panic

05:30and I strangled her

05:32while she was partially in the bag.

05:41The significant thing is

05:42he admits that he's responsible for her death.

05:45So, it was certain now

05:50that we were looking

05:53at a serious crime.

05:59We re-arrested Nathan and Shauna

06:02on suspicion of murder

06:03and they continued to be held in custody.

06:05Now, we had some

06:09concrete information

06:10that Becky was dead.
