The story kicks off with a brutal murder of a man called Archie Stout , an old friend and distant relative of Jimmy thus this case is personal. Can Jimmy solve the mystery of Archie's demise with not a great deal of help due to adverse weather conditions and the approach of the Christmas period ?
And can Jimmy solve the riddle of the weapon used in Archie's murder , one of the "Story Stones " an ancient relic stolen from the heritage centre.
Another good police procedural/murder mystery from Anne Cleeves !
