00:00Trev here from Trev Story. 47 years ago, I slapped on a nail bag and started my life in the building industry.
00:09Trevor Rennison is on a mission to push a wheelbarrow from northeast Melbourne to Parliament House, Canberra.
00:15The 600 kilometre journey is aimed at building mental health awareness in the construction industry.
00:21In Australia, male construction workers have nearly a double rate of suicide than of men in other occupations.
00:27It's an issue Mr Rennison has come to see first hand as a fourth generation carpenter.
00:32After his own battle with his mental health 25 years ago, he devoted his life to raising awareness and saving lives.
00:40He began walking with his wheelbarrow on September 28th, 2025, and he plans to arrive at Parliament House on October 21st.
00:50We lose a tradie every four hours to suicide.
00:53Now, there's a lot of things we need to be doing about this, and this is actually what we do.
00:59We get out onto sites, we have discussions, we catch up with all of you guys and girls, we listen to your problems.
01:07We give you little tools on how to look after each other, look after yourselves.
01:12We get out and have a chat with the employers.
01:15We get out there and we make a difference.
01:18And this is what we're asking you to do too.
01:20Get out there with us and make a difference.
01:22We get out there with us.
01:25You can get out there with us and hear you.
01:27Get out there with us and let's get out there with us and we get out there with us.
01:28This is what we're asking you to do too.
01:29We're asking you what if we're asking you to do with us.
01:31We don't even know you.
01:38What if we can do.
01:39We're asking you to do.
01:44Let's take the time and ask you my husband and I'll do with you.
