11:22Well, I say that last time, that guy with the mask, it looked like him.

11:40Now, you know something, Joey Stiles, I pride myself on being a student of this game.
11:50And for 14 years, I've sat in dressing rooms.
11:54And I've watched the greatest that this sport had to offer, and then some.
11:59And as I sat in a dressing room in the last 10 years, there was one man who rose to the top.
12:17One man who was as tough as they came.
12:20One man who took belts and kicked ass as best as any man in this business has ever done.
12:28And I watched him, and I know what he's all about.
12:32Now, somebody came out here not too long ago, Joey Stiles, and they looked in that camera and said,
12:40Their resolution for 1997 was to the franchise.

18:23and I haven't even unlaced my shoes yet.
18:28I thought about a lot of things.
18:31I thought about Tommy Dreamer.
18:33And I know I've told you people this before.
18:35There's nobody in this world that tries any harder
18:39than that guy right there.
18:40And we're all his fans
18:43and no matter how satisfied we are with him
18:46he just always wants to do a little bit better.
18:49He's got the right name and that Dreamer name.
18:53He reminds me of somebody a long, long, long time ago.
18:58That person he reminds me of is my father,
19:01Dory Funk Sr., who was also a professional wrestler.
19:04And in 1973, he was in his 50s and he had this dream.
19:13He wanted to be champion.
19:16And that was what he wanted to do all of his life.
19:19He wanted to be the world's champion.
19:20And wrestling was his life.
19:23And that was an important thing to him.
19:26But it never happened.
19:32The reason it didn't happen, because in 1973, June of that year,
19:36my father had a massive heart attack while he was wrestling.
19:40And my brother and I rushed him to the hospital.
19:44And on the way to the hospital, he says,
19:46how much further do I have to go?
19:49And I looked at him and I knew he was in a lot of pain.
19:52I said, not much further, Dad, just a couple more miles.
19:54And he said, Dadgummit, he says, I can't make it.
19:57I'm going.
19:58Well, those were his last words.
20:02And whenever those were his last words,
20:06I figured that the Lord had good reason to take him.
20:10And he did take him.
20:12And it was the saddest day in my brother and my life.
20:15And it will be the saddest day in my life probably forever.
20:19Now, 24 years later, here I am trying to figure out my goals after a loss.
20:31And what my goal is right now is that I guess I'm a dreamer, too.
20:38I want to be world's champion.
20:40I know if I get in the ring against that ECW champion,
20:44if I can get in there against Raven,
20:46and I know that I can beat him.
20:51I just feel it.
20:53And why do I want to do it?
20:55I thought about that, too.
20:57I want to do it for all you hardcore fans out there.
21:02I want to do it for all of us old farts
21:05to prove that we don't have one foot in the grave.
21:09But most of all, I want to do it to fulfill my father's dreams.
21:14That's what I want to do is fulfill his dreams.
21:17Now, I know that I can't guarantee a victory.
21:21But dadgummit, I can guarantee that I'm not going to give up.
21:25And I'm not going to quit.
21:26And I'm going to just keep on going.
21:29And if I can get him in a match, a championship match,
21:33and if I can beat him,
21:34and they present me with that belt,
21:38I don't want to stand out there and say I did it my way.
21:43I want to invite every one of you ECW fans
21:54that are in the arena that night
21:57to come in the arena and stand with me.
22:03And I want us to hold our arms in the air,
22:05and I want to invite anybody that's watching it on television
22:08to hold their arms in the air and say
22:11we did it our way.

23:24At this time, instead of going to the ring,
23:25I am told we are going via satellite to Taz's dojo
23:28where the human suplex machine is standing by
23:31to allegedly own up to the truth about his shoulder injury.

23:37Early December, I had shoulder surgery.
23:42Tore up my rotator cuff, tore my labrum, popped a ligament.
23:48It had major shoulder surgery.
23:50Like I said before, it was an old injury.
23:54I needed to have it done.
23:57You see, I was running roughshod through people here in ECW
24:01at like 80%.
24:03I was wrestling hurt for like the longest time.
24:09And as the time came along that Joey Styles
24:12and other people here in ECW had this big revelation,
24:16ooh, Taz might be hurt.
24:17Taz is already on the road to recovering.
24:21And you see, now I'm healed.
24:24Now I'm at 110%.
24:26And that's bad news for a lot of people here in ECW.
