00:00In this phase of the ceasefire deal, that's right, Eve, apparently Israel has been pacified by the mediators, by the United States, and probably principally by Qatar, that Hamas is going to transfer the rest of the bodies that it has of Israeli hostages.
00:22At least, that's my understanding. It's all been quite murky. I should tell you that of the eight bodies transferred by Hamas so far, one is not that of an Israeli and is being returned to Gaza, but seven have been identified, one of whom was a Nepalese student, an agriculture student studying in the south of Israel at the time he was taken hostage.
00:48So, we're getting more details about the manner of death of the people returned dead, and we're also getting more details now, slowly, about the experiences of some of the 20 hostages who've been released.
01:04So, 21 then, the remains of some 21 Israelis still in Gaza. You know, Hamas had said it would take time. It sounds like Israel might be willing to wait a little bit on that issue, but we're also, you know, another major thing Israel has said, they will go back to bombing Gaza unless Hamas hands over all its weapons, and, you know, that's currently looking quite far away.
01:28It absolutely is. I've seen initial documentation of Qatar, of Qatari bulldozers under Qatari flags, beginning to clear away the rubble in Gaza.
01:45So, that is really a major, so that is really a major, major step undertaken under the aegis of this agreement.
01:52But to my knowledge, there's no mechanism yet in place to disarm Hamas, and we've seen in videos from recent days, Hamas is at least resurgent on the roads, on the streets of Gaza, making it clear that Gazans know who is boss.
02:10I'm not sure that Hamas still poses a military threat to Israel. I think that aspect of Hamas as a military organization has probably been degraded almost to zero, but they are absolutely operating as a very violent militia within Gaza, and it appears from the images we see that this is happening with a Qatari OK.
