00:00well hi there I'm Keith Arbuthnot and I'm playing the apex alien on invasion season

00:17three welcome to my world this is a special gig for me because it's a performance capture

00:25the first discussions with visual effects were that it was going to be simple basically giving

00:31the actor something that they could interact with but when we went into rehearsal I told

00:37them that we could bring in all the other elements for production I made this head that goes on top

00:44of the rig which takes me up to six and a half feet but I also for the actors added a little

00:49something for them to be able to focus on actors really appreciate having whatever it is in the

00:58space allows people to feel how it might feel to have something as large as the apex alien in the

01:05same shot one of the things that has come in very handy for getting and maintaining an emotional

01:11connection is direction starting each and every day with how we are how we feel in the scene doing

01:17my best to emote some form of emotional connection to the other actor so that they have something to

01:23bounce off of once we're done shooting with me remove me from the scene and then they bring in the apex
