00:00Today, like our Secretary Ji was telling, it is a very historic day for all of us.

00:05In fact, the fixing of fares or capping of fares seem to be an impossible task in civil

00:10aviation.

00:11Today, Alliance Air has made it possible.

00:13So, my heartful congratulations to the entire team of Alliance Air who has made this possible

00:18today.

00:19It all starts with the idea when I became the Minister for Civil Aviation and I was exploring

00:26different aspects of this ministry and I said at the time that whatever we do at the ministry

00:31from today is going to be people-centric, passenger-centric and this was all under the vision of our Honorable

00:38Prime Minister Narendra Modiji who has given a tremendous boost to civil aviation in the

00:44last 11 years.

00:45The kind of success we have seen as a country in aviation was never before and I don't think

00:51any other country in the last 11 years has seen this kind of progress.

00:55In the terms of number of airports that we have built, the passenger capacity that we

00:59have added, the number of aircraft fleet that we have brought in and all aspects, the number

01:04of manufacturing that we have improved in the country, air cargo services that we have done,

01:10MRO services that we have done.

01:12We have tried to boost each and every vertical of civil aviation.

01:17But still, when you come to the passengers who are the heart of the civil aviation, there

01:23were still some things they were expecting and I said at that time when I took charge as

01:27a minister that we are going to keep passengers at the core and one thing I want to do with

01:33civil aviation was to make it more accessible and I have to appreciate the entire team of

01:39civil aviation for coming up with different ideas, for keeping that concept in heart and

01:45trying to drive the services.

01:47And we have to see that the whole inspiration again comes from our Prime Minister Modi ji's

01:53scheme Udaan scheme, Uday Desh ka Aam Nagrit scheme.

01:56This is the crux, the crucial scheme that has changed the face of civil aviation in the country.

02:04How we have been able to add middle class, neo middle class, lower middle class or low income

02:10groups into civil aviation was just because of Udaan scheme.

02:14We had the idea to build more airports, but how do you connect them?

02:18Because for all the airlines today, profitability and viability is the major question for servicing

02:24a route and which is equally true with Alliance Air also.

02:27But keeping that viability in mind, the Udaan scheme was envisioned.

02:31So that the unserved and underserved airports also get connected to the main network and

02:36tier 3 cities where there was no possibility of having an airport 15 years back.

02:42Today we are running beautifully in those cities.

02:45We are connecting the lower spectrum people also into civil aviation.

02:49So that is the change, that is the democratization we have brought to civil aviation through the Udaan

02:54scheme.

02:55Now Udaan scheme itself is a great inspiration.

02:58Now extending the services of Udaan is what we have done today under the guidance of Honorable

03:03Prime Minister.

03:04The first extension we have done for Udaan is Udaan Yatri Cafe.

03:09We have seen that lower income people are coming into our airports.

03:12Now you would have also heard the feedback that yaar chai mehengi hoti hai, yeh coffee mehengi

03:17hoti hai.

03:18Ab toho hum jaisae toho kharid lete hai, ticket kharid lete hai, par yeh sab kharid na toho humare

03:23bas ki baat nahi hai.

03:24Then when we have observed this kind of groups coming into our civil aviation, we said that

03:29the services which we are extending as a ticket for air travel that should be extended to

03:33the airports also.

03:35That is where we have brought in Udaan Yatri Cafe and for 10 rupees we are giving tea,

03:4020 rupees we are giving coffee, 20 rupees we are giving samosa and I do not think railway

03:46stations are also able to match this price.

03:48So this is the new civil aviation that we are seeing in country.

03:51That was one extension.

03:53The other extension because this is where the passenger gets very very angry.

03:57The first touch point with aviation for any passenger is when he buys the ticket.

04:02Now buying a ticket itself is a very nervous thing.

04:05The moment he starts clicking ki meru ko yahan se yahan jane ke liye ticket lena hai and

04:10then the moment he finishes the whole process and he is ready to purchase the ticket, there

04:16itself he feels that the price has increased and there were different thought process into

04:20it.

04:21This is a dynamic fare mechanism which has evolved over years and which has evolved through the

04:26process in many countries also.

04:28There is no one to blame for this.

04:30This is the process, this is the economy how this whole system works and that is how things

04:35are running in the country, outside the country, across the civil aviation spectrums.

04:40But we thought somewhere we can use this opportunity and create some kind of facility for the passengers

04:47and that is where I appreciate Alliance Air especially Amit ji and his team also.

04:50So, who have been accepting this with a very good heart and saying that yes this is something

04:56which we might be able to do.

04:58Because as the ministry we have suggested we have not mandated because we feel Alliance

05:02Air should also be viable in its operations.

05:04So, it should not hurt its operations first of all.

05:07But they have taken this challenge and they have said Alliance Air for what it does and we

05:13all have to appreciate and the country also appreciate Alliance Air for this.

05:16That overall in its entire operations more than viability, more than profitability it has

05:23seen about servicing the country, servicing the people of this country.

05:27The challenging areas, the difficult terrains, the difficult geographical areas, the unserved

05:33areas.

05:34If there is any one airline which is immediately going and servicing those regions it is Alliance

05:38Air.

05:39And I am proud of that fact that Alliance Air even after so many challenges, even it might

05:45not be viable, even it might not be the best of the weather conditions to operate a continuous

05:51schedule.

05:52They have made it and they have done such a wonderful job and we from the ministry wanted

05:58to support it to take it up to the next level and we are working different things for it also.

06:02But extending the Alliance Air service in a stronger way to the passengers was where we

06:07all combinedly thought about this.

06:09And Alliance Air has come up with this fantastic fair self-for-said freedom from fair scheme,

06:14which I truly appreciate and that I feel that the country is going to appreciate, the passengers

06:19are going to appreciate.

06:20We are launching it at a time, at a festive time where the air travel is going to boost up.

06:25There is lot more capacity going to be added in the next 2 to 3 months.

06:31So this is a true advantage that you are giving to the passengers here today.

06:34Apart from the fact that you are connecting these tier 2 and tier 3 cities with the major

06:40metropolitan cities, now you are saying that I am going to fix the fair.

06:44Now this is truly unheard of till now, which the people are going to appreciate.

06:50So I wish you all the best in this scheme, because I want this to be not just for this

06:55festive time, but I want it to be a continuous scheme.

06:58So we are going to thoroughly observe this scheme also, but I feel the people of this

07:02country are going to truly benefit from this scheme.

07:05Again, going back to the point of that anxiety when purchasing a ticket.

07:09Now the whole point of travel is that they are going to some new place.

07:13So it is a very exciting thing for everyone.

07:16Either you are going to a vacation, either you are going to your parents, either you are

07:20going to your college or either you are going for some important work, either you are going

07:25for some medical purpose.

07:26So anything that is, it is a very important thing when you are making a travel through air.

07:32That whole emotion of travel gets somehow subsides when you are purchasing the ticket.

07:38Now, Alain said, when we say that we are fixing the price, the whole negativity around this

07:45fairing will just step away and the emotion of travel is going to be truly extended.

07:51So that is where I feel that this is going to be a great thing that is going to help the

07:59passengers of the country.

08:01And we have to make it successful.

08:03And the whole team has come up with quite some good ideas in how to design it and how

08:10to promote it also.

08:12So everything has come up quite beautifully.

08:14And once again, I appreciate everyone who is involved in this.

08:18I just want to say one thing for the whole team at Alliance Air that we are behind you.

08:22As a ministry, we truly support you.

08:24We are behind what you do.

08:26We want good service to be extended to the people.

08:29You are not just a government airline.

08:31You are as good as any other airline in the country.

08:34That is the attitude that you should have.

08:36You should be just like any other major airline in the country.

08:40Perform like it.

08:41Behave like it.

08:42Serve like it.

08:43And that should be the attitude.

08:45And just today, what we have created is, again, taking the example of our Honorable Prime

08:50Minister, under his leadership, our Bharat has become one nation, one constitution.

08:56And today, under our ministry, with the help of Alliance Air, we have made one route, one

09:03fair.

09:04This is a truly amazing thing that we have done.

09:07So I wish you all the best.

09:09I wish that whatever we are trying to do here today gets extended to the people at large.

09:15And all the sectors should be publicized properly.

09:19Service should be enhanced.

09:21Service should be very, very positive.

09:23So that this festive season gives a good boost to Alliance Air, which is very much required.

09:28We have been doing a lot of great things.

09:30But this is going to extend us more into the hearts of the people and the passengers at

09:34large.

09:35So once again, my sincere congratulations to the entire team of Alliance Air for coming

09:40up with this and following the instruction of trying to do something with the fair mechanism

09:46and taking this bold and daring step of fair Saffurusat scheme.

09:51And all the team, right from Amitji to everyone who is involved from the ministry, we thank you
