18:31The only thing that I would say is possibly the second bedroom is a little bit on the small

21:02A two-bedroom apartment with some sea views and this fantastic rooftop terrace.
21:10Today I'm on Spain's spectacular Northern Costa Almeria, helping Sandra and Lawrence find their
21:20dream holiday home that will one day become a permanent home.
21:23Whilst we do have one contender, it's not quite perfect, so for my next properties I'm
21:27planning on pulling out all the stops.
21:30My house hunters who have a budget of £80,000 with an additional £10,000 wiggle room like
21:35lots of things about this apartment, particularly its huge south-west facing terrace, but weren't
21:40keen on the distance or the slope from its communal pool as well as the size of the second
21:45bedroom, both of which I'm hoping to remedy with property number three.
21:49I've taken Sandra and Lawrence back to Palomara's for my next property choice, but the development
21:54we're in this time is slightly nearer to the beach and the centre of town.
21:59And even though we're into their wiggle room once again, I've been told there's some flexibility
22:03on the price here.

22:11I have to say it looks a bit rundown.

23:14What do you think of the space?
23:15Yeah, I think it's a good space.
23:17The kitchen may be a little bit on the tiny side for us.
23:20How did you feel as we walked up and you see how close the pool is?
23:23Yeah.
23:24It was a lovely position for the pool, but I didn't really like what was behind it very
23:28much, the building.
23:29It's not complete.
23:30Yeah.
23:31I mean, look, that is a development there that hasn't been finished.
23:34So, it's one of those things, isn't it?

24:30and I gave them both with this apartment, which is on the market for a negotiable just under £85,500.
24:37But the unfinished building and potential building site next to it cast a huge shadow over the whole place.
24:46So we move on.
24:48And as house hunting can often be hungry work, I thought we'd make a quick stop off en route to property number four
24:53to sample something tasty, which the Costa de Almeria is famous for.
24:58So in front of us here is gambas roja, red prawns.
25:01Very traditional and also very expensive.
25:05A kilo of these prawns is around £60.
25:08Wow. Wow.
25:09And the traditional way to eat them is pull off the head, suck the head and then eat the prawn.

26:17which is just under 15 minutes' drive away, I have gone over Sandra and Laurence's maximum budget.
26:23However, it's really spacious for the whole family, and the price is negotiable.
26:28So here we are at our next property. It's in this building just here.

31:21which blew everything else we'd seen out of the water.

33:38Which is a lot of money, but incredible with a view like that.

34:05But en route, I thought we'd stop off at Playa Savera.
34:08One of the loveliest beaches on the Costa de Almeria and also the nearest one to our final place.

34:20Yeah, it's lovely.
34:21And what you'll find along the beach is various Chiringuitos.
34:25People like to kind of wander down, find a Chiringuito, place themselves somewhere close by for the day.

34:32A few drinks, a bit of food.
34:34What more could you ask for?

34:37So, can you imagine yourselves coming down here for the day?
34:40Definitely.
34:41And the kids would love it down here.
34:42Absolutely love it.
34:43Well, the good thing is this would be the closest beach to our next property, which is less than 10 minutes in the car.

34:53That less than 10 minute drive takes us to a golf resort just outside the inland town of Vera.
34:58The resort is home to a great mix of nationalities including French, Swedes, Belgians and a fair few Brits, around a quarter of whom live here full time.
35:07It's a very popular place to buy property which is reflected in the prices here and I've used up most of Sandra and Laurence's wiggle room to find a two bed apartment.
35:16Final property.
35:18What are we thinking of this?
35:20I think I might have seen this before online.
35:22What was it online that caught your eye then?
35:24I think it was the, it was quite a low building.
35:27The interior was reasonably good as well and the large pool and yeah.
35:31Yeah.
35:32So, yeah.
35:33Large pool as you can see is currently empty because they're just repairing some tiles.
35:36Yeah.
35:37Very impressed so far.
35:38There's obviously amenities on the actual development and then you can jump in the car and drive sort of 10 minutes to the beach.
35:44So, this property is currently on the market for just over £89,500.
35:51They have had a couple of offers, one for 84, one for 77, both of which have been rejected.
35:57I think maybe an offer of around 85 might be acceptable for this.
36:03So, the thing with this one, you'll have 3% agent fees.
36:05Okay.
36:06And then 21% VAT.
36:07On top of the price.

36:13As well as access to the communal pool, gardens and 18 holes of course, this duplex apartment
36:20has a balcony overlooking the pool into the countryside.
36:23Inside on the lower floor there's a living and dining room which opens onto the balcony.
36:28A separate kitchen with an adjoining outdoor utility area and a toilet.
36:34On the upper floor there's the main bedroom, a similar size second bedroom and a bathroom.
36:41Stepping in here then you've got your kitchen, downstairs toilet into your living area.
36:49What do you think of the space?
36:51I think it's really good.
36:52Plenty of room.
36:53Yeah.
36:54Table, chairs, get six people round there easily.
36:57And there's plenty of space in here should you want to put a sofa bed in?
37:00Yes.
37:01Yeah, fit easily.
37:02Oh, easily.
37:03One thing that I would say about this perhaps, I mean it is used as a holiday home at the moment.
37:07Actually, you could make this into a really nice home.
37:10Definitely.

37:12Up here brings us to your main bedroom.
37:16How, you know, again is this comparing to bedroom sizes you've seen so far in other properties?
37:22Well again, the previous property, the one with the four bedrooms, they were a lot, lot bigger.
37:28We never ever thought we'd see anything that big but I still think this is a really good size.
37:32This is a really good size.
37:33I do think it's a good size.
37:34This is almost perfect?
37:36Yeah, almost.
37:37So here is your south east facing terrace.
37:44Shaded at the moment because of this.

37:47No, it's nice.

37:49Not as big as we've seen, no.
37:51But I think it's adequate, we'd be fine, yeah.

39:30Loved it.
39:31Really, really nice.

39:33The living room's a good size.
39:34Balcony, not the biggest, but it's fine.

39:39The kitchen's a little bit on the small size.
39:41I thought that might be a little bit of a sticking point in the kitchen.
39:44But we have spoke about it and we think there could be ways around it.
39:48So, compromise for the kitchen, anything else?
39:51The bathroom, I think we'd have to take the bath out and put a shower in.
39:56Lawrence, how are you feeling about the four bedroom apartment compared to this?
40:00Although I do like it, I think that is gradually fading into the background.
40:06I like the four bedroom as well.
40:08I mean, the size of the rooms in the kitchen was fantastic size.
40:11But this is beautiful.
40:13I mean, driving up here and just all the grounds and everything, it's so lovely
40:17and that's what property four was lacking in.
40:20I think we need to go away and just talk over a few bits and things,
40:23make sure we're making the right decision.

41:58I think what we had to do is work out, did we want the more bedrooms or did we want the
42:03area which was more of the area we were looking for and the greenness of it, the larger
42:08pool.
42:09In the end, yes, the one on the golf course won.
