Sidhu & Kanhu Murmu — Heroes of the Santhal Rebellion!

Santhal Rebellion (1855–56): Tribal Revolt that Shook the British Empire!

The Santhal Revolt (1855–56) was one of the earliest tribal uprisings against the British colonial rule in India.
Led by the brave brothers Sidhu and Kanhu Murmu, along with Chand and Bhairav, thousands of Santhals rose in protest against oppressive landlords, moneylenders, and British officials.

This movement began in Dumka (present-day Jharkhand) and aimed to reclaim the Santhal way of life and freedom from exploitation.
Though brutally suppressed, the revolt laid the foundation for future tribal and freedom movements in India.

🔥 A story of courage, unity, and resistance — one that every Indian should know.
Perfect for UPSC, History, and General Studies learners.
