Strengthening the semiconductor supply chain is vital not only for Malaysia but also for Asean, says Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong.
Replying to Syerleena Abdul Rashid (PH–Bukit Bendera) in the Dewan Rakyat, Liew said Asean has drafted a framework to address global trade uncertainties arising from geopolitical tensions.
Liew also said Malaysia’s participation in major trade pacts such as RCEP and CPTPP remains crucial to attract quality investments, especially in the E&E, automotive, halal, and digital sectors.
