00:00Bane is an American glam metal band founded in 1986 by frontman Davey Bane.
00:11The band focused less on complex songs and was known for its incredible power and stage presence.
00:17In 1986, Davey formed the band named after him.
00:21He brought Delaina Nova Scott, Danny West, Ashley Mitchell, and Tom Rickard on board,
00:26and they quickly filled the clubs in the U.S.
00:30They recorded their first demos and managed to get a record deal with Island Records in 1988,
00:35a rather small label that nevertheless supported many such bands until the end.
00:40A year later, their debut album, No Respect, was released, featuring their biggest hits such as
00:46Who's Watching You? and Beat the Bullet.
00:49The album reached number 154 in the charts, they toured with Skid Row, and the fans were thrilled.
00:56Bane brought a new energy to the mainstream-oriented glam metal scene.
01:00Bane recorded their second album, All Those Strangers, in early 1991.
01:06However, shortly before its release, Island Records was bought by Polygram and Bane lost their record deal.
01:12The album remained unreleased at first and the first members left the band.
01:16Later that year, Davey Bane joined Steven Adler's road crew and the band broke up.
01:21After Adler's serious drug problems, Davey left his band and re-formed Bane in 1993.
01:28But the band had lost its fans, and grunge was the new music trend.
01:32Bane recorded several albums, but success eluded them.
01:36In 2011, they finally officially released All Those Strangers and a new album, Enough Rope.
01:41The songs were popular, and Bane regained relevance.
01:44Since then, Bane has been touring successfully outside of America, and even if the success
01:50is not as great as it once was, they have made it back into the rock world.
