00:00I would not like to name anybody, I think it was a superb batting effort to reach to 330.
00:23Of course we would have liked to have another, you can always say in hindsight, 20 runs
00:29more but that's not how we look at it.
00:33I think there are a lot of takeaways from our batting display today, 330 I guess was a very
00:42challenging score.
00:44Coach Harlek on the result, India have played two, twice in two games, five bowlers have
00:51been able to take the game till the last over but the result is not there, do you see a point
00:56where you will have to take a look at having another bowling option, primary all rounder,
01:01Radha, Arundhati, whoever, you would prefer to come in as a sixth primary bowling option
01:06in the team rather than playing five front line bowlers.
01:09Obviously after this game we will have a look at it and I am sure the team management will
01:23have a proper discussion about this and then we will take a right call as we approach the
01:28next game, I am sure about it.
01:34Coach Australia's attitude as a team that they bring to difficult matches, was that a factor
01:42in how your team struggled to build pressure because they bring that kind of an attitude
01:48that they can escape from any moment of pressure?
01:51I think, you know, credit to them, I think they batted exceptionally well.
01:57The way they started and eventually ended up getting 330 with one over to spare was a phenomenal
02:03effort.
02:04I felt, yes we tried to build pressure on them but you know they have been experienced players,
02:13they have been playing together for a while, I think almost ten years they have been playing
02:19with almost the same team.
02:21There have been few exceptions but I think eventually Ellis Perry also finished things off so credit
02:31to them, they batted magnificently I think.
02:34Hi coach, tough luck today, the batting, you know, you said it's a good effort to get to
02:44330, but is dot ball percentage something that you guys are discussing internally, given first
02:50two matches were difficult pitches but still it was on the highest side, today it was around
02:5448-50% more than Australia, Pratika and Harleen batting together sometimes they tend to slow
03:01things down a little bit.
03:02Is that something that you are discussing going forward on addressing, minimizing dot balls?
03:06Well to be honest, after the previous game, not this one but the one before against South
03:13Africa, we had an elongated discussion about how we are going to approach the batting innings
03:21and that was one of the things that was discussed about the dot ball percentage and you know so
03:28far in the last year and a half we have been playing very aggressive cricket and I thought
03:34you know today was a good display, yes the dot ball percentage has come down but we will
03:39have a closer look at it, I don't know what the percentage is, you have been kind enough
03:44to tell me how much is it? 48% we would like to get it down.
03:50Hello Coach, back-to-back two losses with South Africa and now with Australia and the
03:57national match is tough to come comparatively, England's team is playing well.
04:01So what will we learn from these two losses and improve it?
04:06Look, in my opinion, the finish is very important in cricket and cricket game.
04:13I always say in the dressing room, yes we need a good start but we need a better finish.
04:21So if you see the finish that we had in the South Africa game as far as bowling is concerned,
04:31in the last five overs we ended up losing that game and even today basically if we would have
04:38got another 20 runs maybe things would have been different.
04:42but at the same time it is, it's been a gradual progress for us and there are a lot of learnings.
04:49I keep talking about positives and learnings.
04:52One of the things to learn is to finish well.
04:55Coach, you said that this is a good effort for 330 runs, but in the last 10 years we
05:00play a single level and it becomes easier for 350.
05:03So my question is, when you sit inside, you guide us on how to play,
05:08or in the inside, because you don't play the J-R-D-Sorts,
05:14so do you guys do guide us or do not?
05:17Because if you have 350, I think we can match us on how to play.
05:20Yes, absolutely.
05:21What do you think?
05:22We do guide us or do not?
05:24I don't know, because if you play a sort of game,
05:26you play a sort of game,
05:28you play a sort of game,
05:29you play a sort of game,
05:30but you play a sort of game,
05:32but you play a sort of game.
05:34I think we play a sort of game,
05:37and sometimes we play a sort of game.
05:40But as I said before,
05:43I don't want to give attention to anything.
05:45The whole game,
05:47we will definitely discuss it,
05:50and we will work on it.
05:58Hi, Coach. Tough luck.
06:00In this World Cup, you have been a little bit flexible
06:03with how the lower order batters have come in.
06:06We have seen Richa has moved around a little bit.
06:09Have you, as a team management,
06:11have you given any thought to,
06:13you know, being a little more flexible with the top five also?
06:17For example, today,
06:18when the openers gave you a platform where they batted 25 overs,
06:22was there the possibility that you could send in a more aggressive option right after that?
06:27Like?
06:28As in right after that,
06:30could you send in somebody?
06:31Could you,
06:32did you think about maybe promoting someone like a Richa or a Jemima
06:35instead of sending Harleen at that point like usual?
06:39I think we have got a very settled batting line-up.
06:42Would not like to shuffle around too much.
06:46But when the need arises,
06:48you know, we are flexible about it.
06:50It's not the case you have seen,
06:52you have answered your question that the first part of your question was,
06:56you have been flexible enough in the lower order.
06:59But, yeah, we do have that luxury of sending Richa in
07:03and at times we have got the services of Dipti Sharma
07:06who can go out there and give us that option of a left-hander
07:10as well as a player who grinds and gets those singles easily.
07:17So, I think we do have that option in the lower order,
07:20but I would not like to tinker too much with the batting line-up.
07:24Hi, Coach.
07:31Tough luck.
07:33But if you have to just look at a couple of performances in isolation,
07:38Kranti against Pakistan, Charani out here today,
07:41just those two youngsters playing their first World Cup award,
07:45on how they have taken to this challenge on a home World Cup no less.
07:51You know, they are 22-year-olds.
07:53Just a word on, you know, how they have taken to this.
07:56I think they have been exceptional.
07:57You know, if you see Kranti, God, bowling,
08:00and today, Shree Charani against Australia,
08:04against top quality players,
08:06she ended up giving, what, 40 odd runs in her 10 overs
08:10and picked up those important wickets.
08:12So, I think they have been exceptional,
08:14both of them young, vibrant in the dressing room
08:17as well as vibrant on the field
08:19and we gave it our best, you know, in the field.
08:23I think you all will agree with me, on one point at least,
08:27that, you know, our fielding has been very good today.
08:32That's a big takeaway for us.
08:35They were throwing themselves and, you know,
08:38we are a good game.
08:41Unfortunately, we lost this one,
08:44but I think, to answer your question,
08:46Kranti, God, and Shree Charani have been phenomenal.
08:51Thank you, everyone. Thanks, Coach.
