00:00Kelantan Police have launched an investigation into the 500 Solidarity Voyage for Gaza program
00:08held on Friday, which featured the display of an Israeli flag.
00:13Kelantan Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Mohamed Yusof Mamat said the investigation is being
00:18conducted under Section 3, subsection 1 of the National Emblems, Control of Display, Act 1949,
00:25which prohibits the display of any national emblem without approval.
00:30He warned that even if the intention was to condemn Israel,
00:34displaying the flag publicly could cause misunderstandings and public unrest.
00:39The organizer, Anak Muda Bangkit Malaysia, clarified that the flag display was part of a reenactment scene
00:45depicting the experiences of global Sumud Flotilla volunteers during their humanitarian mission to Gaza.
00:52Program Director Mohamed Khairul Hafiz Hassan explained that the scene was purely a simulation,
00:58meant to portray Israel's cruelty, not to show support or offend anyone.
