00:00It's starting to feel very autumnal right now. The nights are drying in, the leaves are falling,
00:05the weather has been horrible. Fortunately, there's plenty of great TV to give you the
00:11excuse to stay indoors and binge those evenings away. I'm Scream Babble's TV specialist, Matt
00:17Monixson, and these are some of the great shows you need to watch in October 2025.
00:22So we have plenty of returning favourites. Bake Off is continuing its later season on Tuesday
00:28nights on Channel 4. Strictly is back with episodes on Saturday and Sunday nights on BBC and that will
00:34be through to December. So that's your weekend sorted for pretty much the rest of the year.
00:39Only Murders in the Building is continuing on Disney Plus with episodes on Tuesdays
00:44through to October the 28th and set to wrap up on Thursday, October the 9th. But going through to
00:51the new stuff, it's Blue Lights. It's BBC's acclaimed Belfast crime drama. Its third season
00:58has started. It comes two years, no less than two years, 18 months after the second season finished,
01:05but the beam is promising. The stakes are higher than ever this time. They're sort of delving into
01:10the dark underside of middle class life in Belfast and the drug trade and the global drug trade
01:18this time around. The full season is available on iPlayer already, but episodes will be broadcast
01:24on Monday nights on BBC One at 9pm until early November. Another crime drama, but a bit sunnier
01:33persuasion this time around is Frauds from ITV. This brings together Saran Jones and Jodie Whittaker for
01:40the very first time on screen, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they should have been on so many
01:45shows already over the years, but apparently not. This follows a pair of partners in crimes who are
01:53reunited after a 10 year break due to one of them being in prison and they set off to do one last
02:00job together. Obviously we all know how that drop ends, but yeah, we'll see what happens. That is airing
02:06on Sunday and Monday nights for three weeks from October the 5th to October the 21st, but the full
02:11box set is on ITVX and STV player already. If you can't wait to watch more. The Celebrity Traitors
02:19is finally here. If you can believe it, the wait is over. The cast was announced way back in the
02:27summer earlier, maybe even in the spring, but it's finally, finally here. It starts on Wednesday,
02:33October the 8th. And unlike the normal traitors, there's just two episodes on each week. So episodes
02:39are on Wednesday nights and Thursday nights at 9pm, the usual time. And it will continue over the
02:47coming weeks. I think it's supposed to have about eight, nine episodes, a bit shorter than the normal
02:52traitors. So yeah, it'll be through the rest of October and then traitors itself will be back in the
02:59new year. So wonderful. So much traitors action. Another BBC one, look, the BBC is on a bit of a heater at
03:06the moment is Riot Women, which is one we at Scream Babble are particularly excited for. I know Kelly
03:13is Riot Women, which is the latest show from Sally Wainwright, her of Happy Valley and Last Time
03:21Going to Halifax fame. She is back with a new series. It's about middle-aged women who form a punk rock band
03:27with music from an actual punk rock band. So that's going to be really cool. It starts on Sunday,
03:33October the 12th, and that'll be on at 9pm on BBC One and the box set will be out on iPlayer if you
03:40can't wait, if you want to binge watch, binge stream. Netflix has quite a few things that you won't want
03:46to miss this month. The return of Nobody Wants This, which is back with second season, that rom-com
03:51series that was a bit of a surprise hit. It's back on October the 23rd and The Diplomat's third season
03:58will start on October the 16th, which yeah, that's set in England. It's basically like
04:05the sort of show that would be on the BBC, so who can claim it? And then to wrap up the month,
04:10it wouldn't be October without a good scare and Sky Atlantic slash Now TV are here to provide that. So
04:17It, Welcome to Derry, is the prequel to the 2010s hit movies, It Chapter One, It Chapter Two, based on
04:27the book by Stephen King. It's set 20 years before the first movie and it's about a young couple who
04:34moved to Derry, Maine. That will air on October the 27th, so right at the end of the month, just before
04:42Halloween, with episodes out every Monday. After that, I think eight in total, round about that,
04:48they're expected, and Bill Skarsgård is back as everyone's favourite clown, Benny Wise, so what a
04:55great way to end the month. I'm Screambevel's Matt Monnickson, and this is what you need to watch in October 2025.
