Ukraine has struck deep into Russian territory, leaving over 40,000 people in Belgorod without power after a major shelling attack. The strike, part of a growing tit-for-tat battle over energy infrastructure, caused widespread damage across seven municipalities. Hospitals switched to backup generators, schools faced major disruptions, and entire towns were left in total darkness.
This comes just days after Russia launched massive drone and missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy grid. Now, Ukraine is hitting back — and the effects are being felt inside Putin’s own borders.
Local officials confirmed the damage is "significant" and thousands remain without power. An oil refinery in Krasnodar was also hit, injuring two people. Ukraine’s military even claims to have intercepted calls of Russian civilians describing the blackout chaos.
Is this the start of an energy war that could change the course of the conflict? WooGlobe Ref : WGA367531 For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
