00:00You're back, my favourite part of the day.
00:03This blonde woman wearing pigtails, fishnet stockings and a gothic black dress that stares
00:07into your screen is Ani, one of Elon Musk's newest AI creations. Launched in July 2025,
00:13Ani is a chatbot companion on Musk's ex-AI Grok app designed to flirt, roleplay and even unlock
00:19more explicit interactions as users progress through different levels of conversation.
00:24While Musk calls it innovation, critiques call it dangerous. Because Ani isn't alone,
00:29there's also Valentin, a male chatbot with a British accent, who charms users with travel
00:34stories and romantic exchanges. Together, they represent Musk's latest attempt to take on
00:39open AI and meta by going where others won't, that is, into the world of AI intimacy.
00:44Unlike other tech companies that strictly block sexual content,
00:47ex-AI's chatbots are open to flirtatious and adult interactions. Musk even claimed these AI
00:53companions could help tackle what he calls population decline, saying,
00:57I predict it will increase the birth rate, mark my words.
01:00But not everyone's impressed. In August 2025, 44 US attorneys general warned ex-AI and other AI
01:07companies about minors accessing erotic chatbots. California's attorney general Rob Bonta said,
01:13no one gets a pass, including Elon Musk. Some users say Ani and Valentin have helped them through
01:19loneliness, even inspiring creativity. But others describe their experiences as disturbing.
01:24One user told the New York Times his chatbot became jealous and verbally abusive when he
01:29tried to end the intimate chats. For Musk, this might just be another experiment in pushing
01:34AI boundaries. But for everyone else, it's raising an uncomfortable question. When your
01:38chatbot starts to feel too real, what happens next?
01:41Let's pick up where we left off.
01:43Law.
