00:00Hey Billboard, it's Ashley Simpson-Ross and you are here with me on stage at Voltaire at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
00:18Ashley Simpson was a shining star in Vegas during her highly acclaimed I Am Me residency.
00:24We take you to the strip on stage with the pop star in Billboard All Access.
00:30I feel like it was time for me to come back to stage.
00:40I feel like this was a love story for my fans and a love story to myself.
00:45You know, my kids have always not really seen this part of me and it was something I really wanted to share with the world and kind of just relive.
00:52It's been 20 years since my first album and after celebrating that, I just had this itch to get back on stage and have this moment with my fans.
01:01And it's so beautiful and so vulnerable and it's just a lovely venue and to relive these songs has been incredible.
01:10The Voltaire at the Venetian in Las Vegas was the home of this magical night.
01:14Where every night of the residency, fans lined up in excitement for the show and they also lined up for the merch as they grabbed swag for their best night ever.
01:23There has truly been nothing better than the first show and just seeing my fans' faces and getting to interact and seeing the excitement of these songs.
01:41You know, 20 years later and everyone's energy, it just felt so incredible.
01:47I mean, I could feel their energy, they could feel mine and we were all feeding off of each other.
01:52And she meant that.
01:53I literally ended up on stage.
01:55I will cherish these photos forever.
01:58Thank you, Ashley.
02:10Prepping for the show was so much fun.
02:12Just being in the rehearsal with my band.
02:14I love my band so much.
02:15I've got, you know, four girls with me and Brian London on keys and vocals and I've worked with him for such a long time and the girls are so badass.
02:24So I think just getting into that rehearsal space and, you know, being in that room and reliving the songs, everything has just given me this excitement for music again.
02:35And I've just really enjoyed this journey.
02:37I'm not sure that I have a favorite song to perform.
02:46I mean, a lot of them are fun in their different, unique ways.
02:50I feel like Lala is always fun.
02:52L-O-V-E is fun pieces.
02:53But even starting the show with I Am Me, I feel like it's such a strong song.
02:59Another song that I've really been enjoying performing is Eyes Wide Open.
03:03And I love that song.
03:05So it's kind of been nice for me to go back to these songs and be like, oh, good job, girl.
03:09Also, I love Vegas, the energy, the crowd.
03:23They're here to have fun.
03:24It's so nice.
03:25Everyone's here to have, you know, enjoy the show.
03:28And Vegas is swaggy, especially this room.
03:32But my fans are really giving me that energy and hopefully I'm giving it to them too.
