00:00So you collaborated with Rihanna on Break It Off, another powerful duo.
00:09What was that like? Did you get to meet her?
00:12That was really dope because I had met her on tour.
00:14She kept saying to me, I want to come to Jamaica, I want to come to Jamaica.
00:17And I'm like, yeah, how come you tour in the States?
00:19And she's like, I grew up in Barbados. I really love reggae and dancehall.
00:23And that's the Mecca. That's where it's from. I want to be there.
00:27I said, anytime you want to come.
00:29In the next couple of months, I got a call.
00:31Yo, me and my best friend coming for Christmas.
00:33And that was special for me because when anybody who I've met in the business,
00:38I've always met them on the road.
00:40We've done songs via the internet or I had to fly to where they are to do the song.
00:45But now they come to your home.
00:46She came home and I felt special to show her who was a budding star like she had on the replay.
00:53And so we went to the beach, we went to the club, we went to the street dance.
00:56Oh, you guys are having fun.
00:57We went to Bob Marley Museum. She had to go there.
00:59Wow.
01:00That's the first.
01:01She bought me off to take her to Bob Marley Museum.
01:04I look up to his music so much.
01:06So she wanted to go there and that was really dope.
01:09Took her to the studio one day and they were playing a bunch of rhythms.
01:12And I kept going, yo, that's dope.
01:14Think she was going to be in the song.
01:15So this wasn't even planned. Like it just happened.
01:16I just started spitting verses and she's like, yo, a friend of mine helped write it with her.
01:21And then she just came in, break it up.
01:25You guys spending that time, you introducing her to what, you know, Jamaican culture is taking her all around, making her feel at home and then creating that music.
01:36It happened like all at the right time.
01:38And that's why it's more special to me than a lot of them because everybody's just like, you know, you had the numbers.
01:44Okay, send them the track or bring them over here.
01:46They never came to see the place that I felt so special about that made me.
01:50And where you even come from, that made you.
01:52You know what I'm saying?
01:53Exactly.
01:54That's a beautiful story.
01:55I'm so happy you shared that with us.
