‘They need to come down’: is green energy the way to lower bills?

We’re asking people in Cardiff if they think the government and energy companies should be focusing on renewable energy or lowering our bills.

00:01I think it should be green energy. I firmly believe that climate change deniers are going

00:07to send the world to hell in a handcart. So everybody's priority really should be sorting

00:15out climate change. So if green energy helps that, then they should have it.

00:23The bills are far too high, I think. But how we keep them down, I do not know. It seems

00:30that the move towards green energy seems to be costing us a lot more. I don't know what

00:37the answer is to that.

00:38Well, for the younger generation, the green energy is best. But for older people, like

00:44us pensioners, it's the here and now. And I mean, the standing charges are just ridiculous

00:52at the moment, you know. I think they should be looking at the standing charges for gas

00:57and electric.
