00:00The United States has slapped new sanctions on nearly 100 people, companies and vessels
00:06accused of helping Iran export oil and petrochemicals in violation of U.S. restrictions.
00:13Among the targets is a crude oil terminal in China
00:17allegedly receiving shipments from vessels linked to Iran's so-called shadow fleet.
00:24The Treasury Department sanctioned Shandong Jincheng Petrochemical Group
00:29an independent Chinese refinery for purchasing millions of barrels of Iranian oil since 2023.
00:35According to the Treasury, several of the sanctioned tankers
00:38had transported millions of barrels of Iranian oil to China
00:41in direct violation of U.S. sanctions.
00:44U.S. officials say the money from these oil sales helps fund Iran's nuclear and missile programs
00:49and supports militant groups in the Middle East.
00:52Iran has denied those claims.
00:54The State Department has also blacklisted a China-based chemical logistics company
00:59accused of receiving Iranian petrochemicals.
