00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Janesweather update for Friday.
00:04Clear skies, we have got a lot of that.
00:06There is activity up to the north, that's not going to come down to us,
00:10it's going to move further eastwards.
00:11In the south-western corner, we're just copying the very top
00:15of some cold fronts that are crossing the Bight,
00:17so it doesn't really add up to very much at all,
00:19there's hardly even any cloud with it apart from that south-west corner.
00:22So here we have Friday, just adding up to 0 to 1 millimetres.
00:25I want to point this out for you here,
00:27so the red lines here and then the purple.
00:30That is heat that is now trapped over the interior
00:32and the northern parts of the country.
00:34When that can surge down to us here on north-easterly winds,
00:38then we dramatically heat up.
00:40But let's watch it day by day to see what it's likely to do for us here.
00:44As soon as high pressure moves out to the east,
00:46that will allow that to come down,
00:47but here we have a big, broad ridge of high pressure
00:49blocking us from those cold fronts to the south
00:52and also blocking that heat from the north.
00:54We're just in no-man's land in the middle.
00:56So there's Friday.
00:57Have a look at Saturday.
00:58Again, just these very southern coastlines.
01:01All of this activity is going to move further eastwards.
01:03Watch our pattern in through here.
01:05Very zonal, so very just like this, east to west.
01:09As soon as you get a horseshoe with that one,
01:11you know that it's starting to come down.
01:13So here's our high pressure as we move through Saturday.
01:15Into Sunday, here is our high pressure.
01:17There is one that is out through here.
01:19Okay, so that would normally indicate, yes,
01:21we start to get our northeasterly winds,
01:24but there is a big but with this one.
01:26There is also a trough that runs through
01:28because there's another high that is out in through here.
01:30As soon as the trough comes in, you don't get the heat.
01:33You're on the cool side of that trough.
01:35So this here starts to come down on Monday.
01:38There we go, starting to get our horseshoe shape.
01:40But watch that.
01:41Here's our trough, so we're not seeing the heat over the southwest corner.
01:44We're hardly seeing any wet weather either
01:45because the cold fronts are moving down to the south.
01:48So here's our little bit of a horseshoe dip down.
01:51Let's watch where that's going to go.
01:52To the east, big horseshoe dip coming down in through here.
01:56Trough is running in through here.
01:58Cool side of that is over to the west.
02:00Showers and storms out ahead of it in that heat.
02:02So here we move through Wednesday.
02:04Nice big band of rain that is moving across the east in through here.
02:07Hot, then rain, showers and thunderstorms,
02:10then a cool change on the back end of that next high pressure system coming in.
02:14So we're not seeing that heat.
02:15It moves through there on Thursday.
02:17Next high pressure system.
02:19Is it going to next Friday?
02:20Here's the next high out here over the bite.
02:22OK, now we're starting to see our horseshoe coming down in through here.
02:25But is there a trough that is running in there
02:28that is going to spoil the hot weather party for that yet?
02:31It's likely to not get a lot from that one
02:33as the next change comes through ready for next Saturday.
02:36So no major heat concerns for us yet,
02:39even though we've got that big ball of heat
02:40that will be moving further to our east,
02:42but not for the southwest at this stage.
02:44What does that add up to?
02:46Lots up in the north, lots moving in through here.
02:49Hardly anything for the southwest corner.
02:51So for Perth, let's have a look at our temperatures.
02:5319, 20, 22, 23.
02:55We hang around that and it might warm up next Friday
02:57before the next cool change moves through.
02:59So there's no heat concerns at all for that southwestern corner
03:03anywhere in the outlook at this stage.
03:05Maybe in the next week, we'll start to see that as it gets active.
03:08So we are seeing that it is moving down,
03:10like Melbourne's going to be in the low 30s
03:12as we move through Thursday.
03:14So that heat is making it down to the south,
03:16just not to us in the southwestern corner here.
03:19And also with that, there is hardly any wet weather,
03:21but you can really tell by the wind direction.
03:24That is all southerly until you get our northeasterly
03:26when our temperatures jump up.
03:28As always, head to Farmer Line Weather for the latest.
