'We're not going there!' Russell T Davies won't speculate on Doctor Who's streaming future

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies spoke to BANG Showbiz at the Attitude Awards in London on Wednesday night (08.10.25) where he was quizzed about the possibility of a royal cameo and the sci-fi show's future beyond Disney.

00:36I mean there was talk that maybe he was continuing a cameo in Doctor Who.

00:40That would be fantastic. Because obviously he was a Stormtrooper in Star Wars.

00:43I wish. There's a long history of the Doctor Who producers trying to get a member of the Royal Team to a cameo in Doctor Who.

00:49It's never happened.

00:51Who's been involved or who's been approached at Masters?

00:54Oh I can't give away names of people who said no because then they'd be barracked by fans.

01:05So we heard the speculation that maybe Disney would maybe withdraw funding from Doctor Who.

01:09Hopefully it doesn't happen. I hope it stays on the streaming panel.
