20:28Released posthumously as a final testament to his art and love, revolving around a musical
20:34love story where the lead characters played by the late Zubin Garg as a blind artist.
20:42The film combines love, melody and profound emotion.
20:46The film was in its final stages when fate intervened.
20:50Although much of the work had already been done, including the shoot, the music, even most
20:56of the vocal recordings.
20:58But what remained was the dubbing of Zubin's own voice for scenes he had shot, a step that
21:04couldn't be completed after his death.
21:10Garima Saikia, Zubin's wife, has stepped forward with heavy eyes and steadfast heart as she has
21:17resolved to shepherd the project to its conclusion, to honour the vision Zubin had laid so carefully.
21:27In many ways, the film's premiere becomes more than a release.
21:32It becomes a farewell, a final gift to the world from a man whose music shaped thousands
21:38of hearts.
21:41Filmmaker Rajesh Bhuyan, who'd been working with Zubin over the past three years, has
21:45said, and we quote,
21:47We were working on this movie for the last three years.
21:52The story and music of the movie were by Zubin Garg.
21:55This was the first musical Assamese movie.
21:59We had completed almost all the work on the movie, except for the background music.
22:04Zubin Garg wanted this movie to be released on 31st October.
22:09So we have decided to release it on the same date, not just in Assam, but nationwide.
22:15Zubin's voice is almost 80-90% clear, as we had recorded it using a lapel mic.
22:22So we will use his original voice only.
22:26But unversed, Zubin was a popular Assamese singer, known for crooning songs like Ya Ali,
22:33Mahi Wei, among others.
22:54He passed away in an accident in Singapore at the age of 52.
23:10He was in Singapore for the Northeast India Festival, where he was supposed to perform
23:15on 20th and 21st September.
