00:00Bueno, y como les decíamos, qué entrevista. Nada más, el encargado, el mero mero, el que hace todo lo que es posible con los dispositivos de Amazon Panos Panay.
00:10I was thinking, well, you are in charge. You are in charge of all the devices of Amazon. Thank you very much for your time, Panos.
00:18And now here in New York, we saw new Echoes, a new Kino, a new Ring, a new Blink, a lot of products.
00:27But besides that, let me ask you this, Alexa is, I think, the most important solo inside the Echoes on a lot of Amazon.
00:37So when we can expect something from Amazon Plus, maybe the Spanish, because there is a lot of people who are expecting that.
00:44First off, I can't wait. I can't wait to get it to Mexico, just to Mexico.
00:50One of our best customer bases, like people who love Alexa, they come out of Mexico.
01:01Yeah, and we're pumped about it. But we want to get it right. We want to get Alexa Plus right.
01:05Right now, we're actually in beta in Mexico with Alexa Plus.
01:08Pretty fun. And the Spanish speaking is awesome. It's getting there, but we want it perfect.
01:13And so I'm like urgently going and urgently working to get it.
01:18We as a team are urgently working to get it in Mexico.
01:21But we also have to be somewhat patient to make sure we get it right.
01:24And just, you know, for the local folks like in Mexico, we just want it to be something you fall in love with right away.
01:32And so we're almost there. We're in beta now. We're right around the corner. Right around the corner, man.
01:37I think that a lot of Mexicans loves Alexa because it's almost like a Mexican Alexa, if you know what I mean.
01:43I mean, it's very localized. She makes jokes. She speaks like a Mexican.
01:49I think that's a very important part of making Alexa a Mexican Alexa or a Canadian Alexa.
01:56It does matter. It matters for the dialect. It matters for the culture. It matters for the people.
02:01I don't think you'd be happy if we didn't focus on it. Right.
02:04And so we are putting all that energy in. It's pretty amazing to see what the new Alexa can do.
02:09Alexa Plus with the power by LNN. The conversation is very natural.
02:13And so it's it's better. It's getting better.
02:16Maybe this is going to be a basic question, but there's a lot of people saying.
02:19What is Alexa Plus? I mean, in Mexico, you may say, I know Alexa. I have Alexa in Diego.
02:24Actually, the speakers, I don't know if you know that, the speakers in Mexico, they can call it Echo.
02:29They call it Alexa. So what is Alexa Plus?
02:32Like it's a smarter, more conversational and helps you get stuff done.
02:37Like it's really that simple. Like this is a product that you can extend services through Alexa.
02:42You can manage your calendar. You can manage your home. You can manage your music.
02:44It understands you better. It's personalized. It knows more about you.
02:48The more you talk to it, the more it understands you, the more, the deeper that context goes.
02:52And then it can provide more for you. It's almost like the house manager, if you will, or like the really to just drive home the idea that you have a personal assistant with you at all times, whether it's on your phone or in your home.
03:05Like it just comes with you.
03:07Now, with the new products, the Kindle. Now we have a Kindle in color and you can upload your files to the cloud.
03:14So it's more like this kind of tablets that we already know of at our companies.
03:20But what is the key field that you feel is going to be the most important thing that the people are going to have this new Kindle?
03:28Because it's pretty awesome. It's so slim, but this with the pencil, it's changed.
03:33Something about Kindle, it is a product that has forever been a distraction-free device.
03:42Like there's no, you don't get distracted by mail, by the internet, by text, by anything.
03:46So when you're in your Kindle and reading a book, people, they disappear into the book.
03:50They literally go into their book just like you were holding a paperback.
03:54We just want to keep that pure. We're just bringing that to writing.
03:56When you put the pen down, just go and no distraction. Get your thoughts down.
04:02Then you can move that to like basically you can create text out of it or you can summarize it or you can use AI to summarize or look at all your notes over the last six months and just bring the notes back or ask what you were thinking about.
04:14All that's there. The tech is there to enable things.
04:17But really what it comes down to is distraction-free writing.
04:21Just write, take your notes, take your thoughts down.
04:24For me, it's a really big deal. I mean, this is how I operate.
04:26Every morning I do my writing. It's a very, very powerful thing.
04:31Just to finish.
04:32This is something in the presentation that I love about your kids, about taking the phone out on the TV.
04:38It's very easy to talk about my kids. I love them so much.
04:41I love it so much.
04:42Yeah, I have these teenager kids that use the phone all the time.
04:45I have to take it out, the phone, and they can be lunch, and the dinner.
04:49But what do you think about the responsible use of the technology?
04:53Because most of the people now, they don't write anymore with a real team, with a real notebook.
05:00You know, with a kid, it doesn't get changes because it's just an evolution.
05:03But what do you think about using that responsible technology with kids, with Disney generation, with us?
05:09It is. It's critical.
05:12Like, you know, depending on the age of your kids, of course, we have Alexa for kids.
05:16We have Kindle for kids.
05:17We try and focus, like, for the customer that we're focused on to give them the best experience possible to keep them safe.
05:23So parents can kind of sit back and be comfortable and relax and know that they're going to be taken care of.
05:29We take it very seriously.
05:30On the other side, you know, the responsibility is, like, tech is a really important enabler for us to get things done.
05:35It's also an enabler to help us be smarter, maybe connect us socially, for sure.
05:40So it's not like you should just take it and move it away.
05:43It's just when do you use it, how to use it matters.
05:46For us, one of the most beautiful things for my family is Alexa is basically in the living room now.
05:51We don't have to take out our phones.
05:53We can just ask for anything we want.
05:54Her depth of understanding is incredible.
05:56And even if you wanted to manage your calendar, what do we have tomorrow?
05:59What are we doing next week?
05:59How do I think about this challenge?
06:02You get all that support, and then, you know, you just, your kids aren't taking their phone out to get it.
06:06It's very, very important to me.
06:08I just finished Alexa in the end.
06:11It's an intelligent assistant.
06:13We're in the era of a new way of using artificial intelligence.
06:17So as an expert in technology, we're in Amazon.
06:21We have a long career in the technology field.
06:25We just think about it's going to be the new feature of the AI.
06:28And because talking about a distant future, this change in days, not even months.
06:34So first thing is going to be in a way that all we're going to interact with the other person.
06:39I think at the end of the day, like, you, you, what we want is we want our customer to be in control.
06:45You've got to use it the way it suits you best.
06:48It can expand to so many different areas, but I don't think it's anything more than where do you want to take it?
06:53Like, this is your field, like, Fernando, where do you want to push intelligence?
06:58How much information do you want to give?
07:00Because ultimately, the more it understands you, the more helpful it can be.
07:04And like Alexa, it continues to personalize, understand your needs, understand, like, you know, understand your calendar, your mail, your texts, and ultimately your content.
07:12And then now all of a sudden, your life just gets a little bit more organized.
07:15And that assistant can do everything you need it to.
07:16But you always want the user in control.
07:19We always want our customer to have that control so they can choose, like, what they need and when they need it.
07:26Well, thank you all for your time.
07:28It's awesome.
07:28I just want to try Alexa Plus.
07:30Very serious.
07:31And with this, we finish this showcase.
07:35So, if you may, Alexa, take us to the next news game.
