Available on the iPhone 16 series, Audio Mix is a brand new feature that uses advanced intelligence and Spatial Audio that lets you tune the audio to your liking with you videos. Not only can you minimize background noise, but it can also amplify the sound of your voice. There's also a cinematic mode that blends a mix of audio from the background and from subjects that are in-frame. We put this to the test to see how well it works on the busy streets of New York City.

00:00After our iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max reviews, a lot of you had questions about the audio
00:05mix feature with the iPhone, so I'm going to test it out, show you how it works, also
00:10including whether or not it works well with the microphone.
00:13First up, a relatively quiet courtyard next to our office.
00:16A smartphone burst.
00:18The audio mix uses the influence of our spatial audio capture and advanced intelligence to
00:23distinguish between background noise and voices when recorded videos.
00:27This provides amazing sound editing capabilities after the video capture, you can edit the
00:32sound by selecting edit and then audio mix.
00:35The standard option captures sound and spatial audio with no adjustments.
00:39The in-frame option isolates the voice of the person speaking on camera and can eliminate
00:44unwanted voices off camera.
00:47The studio option makes it seem like they're recording inside a professional studio, like
00:51the microphones are closely subjected even if they're a few people away.
00:55The cinematic option formats voices, like in movies, voices inside and outside the camera
01:00frame are centered on the one track from the screen with environmental noises surround the
01:05sound.
01:06You can adjust the intensity of all the mixes with the slider, letting in more or less background
01:10noise.
01:11None of the modes sound like they work as well as a clip-on mic.
01:16Now I'm here at Bryan Park to see how well it does with all this noise around me.
01:21A smartphone burst.
01:22Audio mix uses the influence from spatial audio capture and advanced intelligence to
01:26distinguish between background noise and voices when recording videos.

01:32After video capture, you can edit the sound by selecting edit to prevent audio mix.
01:37The standard option captures sound and spatial audio with no adjustments.
01:40The in-frame option isolates the voice of the person speaking on camera so they can

02:11Audio mix only works with the onboard studio microphones, and so the option disappears when
