01:19obviously so hopefully most of you guys can come out to cabo should be fun we're just finalizing some
01:25of the content that's being produced so uh that should be cool um but yeah guys put one in the chat
01:35if you have something you want to cover
01:37guys you got all this time with cole
01:41yeah valerie elizabeth's gonna be the the scolding mom for you guys that's me
01:50come on guys come on guys this is what this is what it's about
01:55it's almost like one-on-one time with cole
01:58good to see you thank you so much
02:03hey good to see you as well
02:06so valerie and jm are my clients
02:12and i know you guys have some operations questions for cole
02:17we do yes
02:21well i forgot to type one can i jump in
02:26yeah you can or valerie were you about to go or what
02:32yeah that's okay bilal can go and i'll jump in right after
02:37oh thank you valerie honestly it's going to be really short uh
02:40i'm planning to hire an operations manager
02:42and um i'm curious if you have any templates
02:47for like a service agreement for that by any chance
02:51anywhere i mean generally that position is w2 so you need a w2 contract uh you
02:57could ask your account manager to try to find that for you see if they could
03:00track it down um in the beginning phases you can do
03:04it 1099 like if you got just a couple of employees
03:07you know that's fine how many employees you got
03:10when you say employees you see you mean w w2 no just like full-time people
03:17uh we have like
03:21i think it's nine yeah so if you only have nine full-time folks
03:28then you just should hire this person 1099 like you're not going to get like
03:33audited by the labor department of wherever
03:35so um unless they're california then you got to make sure you w2
03:39one thing one thing i've never really looked into and uh
03:42ramsey is a little bit more knowledgeable on that is because our
03:44structure is also kind of different like we're not in the
03:47uh from the u.s a company companies like incorporated in hong kong i don't
03:54know if the same stuff applies even if
03:56well do you conduct business in the u.s where do you live
03:59panama
04:01um yeah i mean it's interesting
04:06so i don't really know why hong kong that's kind of bizarre
04:12bizarre yeah why is that well that's uh it's tax reasons my friend
04:21yeah but you you can't like i can't just incorporate a company in hong kong and
04:28not pay taxes in the united states that's illegal if i if i'm living in the united
04:33states conducting business in the united states and my employees are in the united
04:37states like they're not dumb like they're gonna audit you and see you know i
04:42get i'm not i'm not american thank the lord but for the tax purpose i'm saying
04:46thank the lord but uh i'm canadian but the point is
04:49corporate and we do have a uslc but i'll have to look into the legalities of this
04:55but um yeah like even when our when someone when a closer joins like we have
05:01a sale an agreement sales agreement or a sales agreement contract agreement or
05:06whatever service agreement um and yeah there's like our hong kong address on
05:11there yeah i mean dude i could put a miami address on there it doesn't mean i'm
05:16paying zero percent state tax if i live in arizona so like and i don't know how
05:21canada works but canada is generally worse so you're even stricter than the
05:27united states in a lot of ways i just would get like some real
05:30professional guidance and maybe you've like there's just i don't know i would
05:33just i get a couple eyes and ears on that because
05:37you know your level you're probably gonna be fine but like what you don't want to
05:41do is get to a million a month and then you get on the radar
05:43and then you don't pay to like and then they're gonna audit you
05:47you know or they're going to because especially like dude like when i moved
05:51to puerto rico um like you know if you move to puerto rico
05:59but all your employees or all your w9 sorry 1099 is in the united states and the
06:06majority are customers in the united states
06:08they will still even if you live in puerto rico
06:11you are still technically supposed to pay u.s tax now
06:15there's like the way people do it is this
06:19pretty wild workaround structure with management companies and all this stuff
06:25you have a u.s citizenship though yeah yeah
06:28that's different though well i know i know but aren't you a canadian citizen
06:32yeah but in canada it's different well yeah i i don't know i don't know the
06:37canadian rules i would just be i would just be wary dude um
06:41yeah yeah a lot of this stuff is like i mean dude you could just not pay tax
06:45like i think what people don't realize is like
06:47you could just not pay tax and like you probably won't even hear from the irs for
06:53a while that's illegal though almost
06:55but it's illegal right and so it's like
06:58what what what we know like when you're evaluating a tax strategy
07:03you'll always like get away with it in a two-year time frame
07:08where you want to watch out is if you want to avoid shit blowing up in three to five years
07:13that's the big thing and people don't realize that
07:16and that's when you have war stories about like
07:19dude just pay your taxes it's not worth it
07:21it's because the person who did a bunch of shit thought they were really smart
07:25five years later everything blows up
07:27they had now they owe the irs a ton of money
07:29and they're fucking you know
07:31they're like damn i just wish i would have paid my tax
07:33oh yeah there's a right way to do it i don't know if you ever heard of nomad capitalist
07:36uh that guy he's great he helped us out but if you're canadian
07:39okay yeah well that guy's legit like i would trust that guy
07:42yeah no i recruited that guy yeah he's great
07:45so yeah we're legally paying zero percent in tax so when we say revenue
07:48we're talking after tax but anyways
07:51uh so the main question was i'm planning to recruit an operations manager
07:56like in terms of like when in the in the agreement like
07:59because there's they wear so many different hats like how do you outline responsibilities and stuff
08:04yeah well you just outline them i mean you got to figure out what they're doing and then you just
08:09put it in a thing there's no templates for it because it's not i mean it it's literally different
08:15for every single company and it also evolves as you as you change the position or maybe you know
08:21first they're just doing a bunch of random operation stuff next thing you know they're
08:25managing two people so uh i would do your the best you can and painting the vision for the position for
08:32the person uh what you eventually want them to be doing in six months to a year etc that's gonna be
08:38more on the scorecard and then just really define the exact responsibilities they're doing now
08:43once you have it all on paper you know you're you're gonna be able to really see like okay
08:47based on these responsibilities what should be like the pay like you know you'll be able to fill
08:53it out you'll be like because a lot of times people think they need an operations and i'm not
08:57saying this is you but just in general a lot of people think they need operations manager but then
09:01if i look at responsibilities that need taken care of it's like they generally just need to switch a
09:07few things around or like delegate one thing to somebody else and then like hire a va i can't tell
09:13you how many times like that's the solution i think you guys might need one but um yeah they're
09:19gonna start it as a sales coordinator and then at the same time since it's not a full-time job
09:23we need help like automate it like somewhat take care of like payroll um yeah yeah so just like an
09:31you could even call it like an ops assistant right really you don't call it ops manager until
09:36they have people that they manage got it cool but you know that again that's just names right um
09:43so i don't know like that position to me sounds like four to i mean dude it depends three to
09:51six grand a month this range i mean not very expensive but you it is
