00:00At the beginning of the story we see a prison built on a deserted island.
00:03Today, new prisoners were being brought to this prison, one of whom was Edmund.
00:07When he met the warden, Edmund said,
00:09Sir, help me. I haven't done anything wrong. I've been sent here on false charges.
00:14The warden calmly replied,
00:15I know. If you had done something, you would have been sent to a jail within the country.
00:20Only those against whom a conspiracy has been made are brought to this remote prison.
00:24After that, the warden beat him badly,
00:26and then locked him in a prison cell that had a wooden door and a small window.
00:30This door opened only once a year, when the warden came to beat them for no reason.
00:35Time kept passing, and Edmund became very disturbed from being locked alone in the cell.
00:39He had written on the wall, asking God to give him justice.
00:43But over time, when he realized he had no control over the situation,
00:46he started feeling deeply sad.
00:48After spending 12 years in that prison, he even lost his faith in God.
00:52He thought he would be locked there for the rest of his life.
00:55But then one day, suddenly, the floor of his cell started to rise.
00:59This strange event shocked Edmund.
01:01He felt like a ghost had appeared in front of him.
01:03After being scared for a while, Edmund saw a man coming out from under the ground.
01:08The man was Abbe Faria, a prisoner from the floor below.
01:11He had been digging a tunnel for the last five years.
01:14By a twist of fate, the tunnel opened up into Edmund's room, as if it were a sign from God.
01:19With Abbe's arrival, Edmund finally got someone to talk to,
01:22as he had been going mad from being locked alone for so long.
01:25After that, Abbe excitedly invited Edmund to his cell.
01:29Edmund felt very happy that he wouldn't have to spend his time
01:32scratching marks on the wall with stones anymore.
01:34When Edmund entered Abbe's room, he was surprised by what he saw.
01:38Abbe's cell was nothing like the others.
01:40It looked like a decent hotel.
01:41There were chairs for comfort, and countless books were lying on the shelves.
01:45Abbe promised Edmund that if he helped him dig the tunnel,
01:48he would teach him during their remaining time.
01:50Edmund didn't have anything else to do anyway, so he immediately agreed.
01:54Just as they were about to start digging, they heard the sound of a guard's footsteps.
01:58Trembling with fear, Edmund quickly ran back to his cell and prepared the garbage basket,
02:03because the guard was about to arrive on his floor.
02:05In this prison, the cell door opened only twice,
02:08once to collect the garbage and once to serve dinner.
02:11Besides that, the rest of the day was free,
02:13which gave them plenty of time to dig the tunnel without worrying about getting caught.
02:17After that, Abbe cut a small bunch of his hair.
02:20He struck a stone to create a spark, lit the hair, and then lit a candle.
02:24Then somehow they both entered the tunnel and continued digging forward.
02:28There was very little space below, so digging wasn't easy.
02:31Abbe estimated that if they kept working at this pace,
02:34it would take at least three more years to reach the outside world.
02:37One day, while resting, Edmund learned from one of Abbe's books that Abbe was once a very skilled swordsman.
02:43After that, Edmund became stubborn and said that if Abbe didn't teach him swordsmanship,
02:48he would stop digging the tunnel.
02:50Edmund now had only one goal in life, to take revenge on his enemies.
02:54After listening to him, Abbe agreed and got ready to teach Edmund the skill of fighting.
02:58Abbe began explaining that speed is a warrior's greatest strength.
03:02He thought of teaching Edmund a lesson using the water drops falling in the room.
03:05Standing by the edge of the dripping water,
03:07he passed his hand through so quickly that it didn't even get wet.
03:10He said, the day your hands become this fast, you'll become a capable warrior.
03:14After that, Abbe went back to digging, and Edmund continued practicing.
03:18A few days later, Abbe broke the wooden planks from the door and made a fake sword.
03:22He then began teaching Edmund swordsmanship properly.
03:25When the sword training was over, Edmund would focus on studying.
03:28Now, his whole day was spent studying, digging, and practicing swordsmanship.
03:32After a few months, Edmund's swordsmanship improved a lot.
03:36Now, Abbe started to notice that Edmund had become an even better swordsman than him.
03:40One evening, during a conversation, Edmund found out that Abbe once worked for a very wealthy family named Stadia.
03:47His master had earned a huge fortune, and now Napoleon had imprisoned Abbe to find out where the treasure was hidden.
03:52Hearing this, Edmund became very angry, because he too had once supported Napoleon.
03:57Both of them had been locked away because of betrayal.
03:59Day by day, their tunnel digging was bringing them closer to freedom.
04:02One day, they saw plant roots in the tunnel, which made Abbe realize they were very close to reaching the surface.
04:08Knowing this, both of them became very happy.
04:11But soon, something happened that turned their happiness into sorrow.
04:14The tunnel suddenly started shaking, and with a loud noise, many stones and soil fell on them, burying Abbe underneath.
04:20Panicked, Edmund quickly removed the stones and pulled Abbe out.
04:23It turned out they had been digging in the wrong direction.
04:26They must have made a mistake while digging the tunnel, as even a food box had fallen down from above.
04:31Abbe was badly injured when a heavy stone hit his chest.
04:34Because of the damage to his lungs, he could die at any moment.
04:37In his final moments, Abbe weakly told Edmund that there was a book under a stone in his room.
04:42Something was hidden beneath that book too.
04:44Edmund found the same treasure map for which Abbe had been imprisoned.
04:47He was shocked to see it.
04:49Abbe made him promise to always use the treasure for good, and to stay away from bad deeds as much as possible.
04:54Edmund promised, and Abbe died shortly after that.
04:57Edmund had tears in his eyes, feeling that he was alone once again.
05:01Just then, the guard came to deliver food.
05:03Edmund hid behind the wall.
05:05The guard called out, but there was no response.
05:07When he came inside to check and saw Abbe's dead body, he panicked, and rushed to report it to his superiors.
05:13Edmund quickly sealed the tunnel's entrance and returned to his cell.
05:16After some time, the guard returned with some of his companions, and placed Abbe's body in a body bag.
05:21Edmund was hiding in the tunnel, waiting for them to leave.
05:24As soon as the guards left, Edmund quietly entered the room.
05:27He looked at Abbe's corpse, and while staring at it, an idea came to his mind.
05:31He quickly swapped Abbe's body with himself.
05:33After some time, the warden arrived with his men to collect the body.
05:37Since the prison was on a deserted island, they decided it was best to throw the body into the sea.
05:41Meanwhile, a guard went to Edmund's cell with food, but when no one responded, even after knocking repeatedly, he became suspicious.
05:48He opened the door and went inside, but instead of Edmund, he found Abbe's body there.
05:52The guard then shouted and went to call the warden.
05:55The warden wanted to finish the task quickly, and that day, strong winds were blowing.
05:59The sea waves were crashing against the rocks, making it hard to hear anything.
06:03While the warden was trying to listen to the guards, Edmund suddenly stole the warden's keys.
06:07The shock of it caused the warden to fall into the sea along with Edmund.
06:10As soon as he hit the water, Edmund quickly used the keys to free himself.
06:14When he swam to the surface, he looked back at the warden.
06:17Years of anger boiled inside him, and he brutally drowned the warden in the sea, killing him.
06:21After that, he kept swimming far out into the ocean without looking back.
06:25The next morning, when Edmund woke up, he was on an island.
06:28He didn't know how he had survived or reached there.
06:30Even he couldn't understand how he was still alive.
06:33But he wasn't free yet.
06:34A group of pirates was sitting nearby, calmly watching him.
06:37Edmund thought he was going to be killed.
06:39But the leader of the pirates, Luigi, gave him a chance.
06:42He said he would let Edmund live on one condition.
06:45Edmund would have to fight his traitor friend Jacob, whom they were going to bury alive anyway.
06:49If Jacob won, he could rejoin the pirate crew, and they would kill Edmund.
06:54If he won, he would be set free.
06:56Soon, the fight between the two began.
06:58Jacob was very skilled in swordsmanship, but Edmund's technique, learned from Abbey, was extremely powerful.
07:04Despite several attacks, Jacob couldn't even touch Edmund.
07:07As soon as he got an opportunity, Edmund struck quickly and knocked Jacob down.
07:11But instead of killing him, Edmund turned to Luigi and said,
07:14Look, both of us can work for you.
07:15We are useful men.
07:17Why kill us for no reason?
07:18It's not easy to find good pirates.
07:20Seeing Edmund's skill and kindness, Luigi was pleased and spared both their lives.
07:25During a conversation on the ship, Edmund told the captain his whole story.
07:29After hearing it, the captain freed Edmund so he could fulfill his purpose of revenge.
07:33Jacob joined hands with Edmund.
07:35Since Edmund had saved his life, Jacob promised that he would always remain loyal to him.
07:40Edmund asked Jacob to arrange a boat.
07:42Edmund then quietly went to his old master's house late at night, but everything had changed.
07:46The old master didn't even recognize him.
07:48He found out that his father had died of grief after Edmund's imprisonment.
07:52Edmund was deeply shocked by this news, but the biggest blow came when he learned that his old friend Montague had framed him and had married his fiancée, Mercedes.
08:00The next day, Edmund and Jacob set off for the island where the treasure was marked on the map.
08:05They searched every inch of the island but couldn't find the treasure.
08:08Then Edmund thought there might be something under the water.
08:11He dived into an underground pond near the spot shown on the map.
08:14There, he discovered several old chests.
08:16As soon as he opened one of them, he saw glittering gold.
08:19Jacob jumped with joy and filled the boat with as much gold as they could carry.
08:23But to take all the treasure, they needed a big ship, and Edmund had no idea how to get one.
08:27More than happiness, he was now filled with the fire of revenge.
08:31He decided this wealth would be used for only one purpose, revenge.
08:34To start, Edmund bought a big luxurious house and presented himself as the new nobleman of France.
08:40He invited all the surrounding noblemen to a grand party in his magnificent mansion.
08:45Soon, his royal style and luxury made him famous.
08:48Everyone was talking about him.
08:49But in reality, Edmund was doing all this to catch the attention of his treacherous friend Montague.
08:54Montague did come to the party, but left without speaking to him.
08:58Meanwhile, Jacob informed Edmund that Montague had a son named Albert.
09:02So, Edmund, along with a beautiful woman and some of his robber friends,
09:06staged a fake kidnapping of Albert, just so Edmund could appear as his savior.
09:10The plan worked.
09:11Albert thought this nobleman had saved his life.
09:13Grateful, Albert invited Edmund to his upcoming birthday party and requested him to attend.
09:18Edmund pretended to hesitate, but finally agreed.
09:21At the party, Albert introduced his father Montague to Edmund.
09:24After 13 years, they stood face to face, but Montague didn't recognize him.
09:29Edmund's appearance had changed completely.
09:31However, when Mercedes saw him, she had a strange feeling.
09:34She couldn't recognize him at first, but when Edmund touched and twisted her hair in a special way,
09:39something only he used to do, she immediately realized who he was.
09:43It was Edmund's old habit.
09:45Edmund knew that Montague was desperate for money.
09:47So, he lied to him, saying that he had found a huge treasure and a ship was bringing 100 kilograms
09:52of gold the next day.
09:54He also asked Magistrate Wilford to clear all legal hurdles so there would be no police problems.
09:59But Wilford was a corrupt magistrate who had full control over the local police.
10:03After hearing Edmund's words, he made a plan with Montague.
10:06They decided to steal Edmund's treasure before it reached him and keep all the gold for themselves.
10:11Montague said he knew someone who could help them.
10:13In fact, these three men were the same people who had framed Edmund years ago and sent him to prison.
10:17And now, Edmund had deliberately brought them all together.
10:20After the party, Mercedes sneaked into Edmund's carriage.
10:24Crying, she told him that Montague had lied to her.
10:26He told her Edmund was hanged.
10:28Edmund feared this truth might ruin his entire plan for revenge.
10:32That's why he told Mercedes to leave for now.
10:34Then we see that Edmund's ship had been robbed.
10:36And it was done by Montague's man.
10:38This same man was also one of those responsible for sending Edmund to jail.
10:43Edmund burned with the desire for revenge.
10:45The man thought he had robbed the ship easily.
10:47But soon the guards arrived and captured him.
10:49He tried to escape, but Edmund showed up.
10:52The man tried to fight, but Edmund threw a noose around his neck.
10:55Before killing him, Edmund revealed his true identity.
10:58So the man would know exactly why he was dying, and for what crime.
11:02Now, Edmund's next target was Magistrate Wilford.
11:05Years ago, this same Magistrate had framed Edmund in the matter of Napoleon's letter.
11:10Ironically, the Magistrate's father had been a supporter of Napoleon.
11:13But in his thirst for power, Wilford had his own father killed,
11:17and blamed Edmund for the crime, which led to his imprisonment.
11:20This time, Edmund cleverly made Wilford confess everything during a conversation.
11:24Wilford admitted it all, thinking Edmund had no proof.
11:27But what he didn't know was that the police were already in the room,
11:31listening to everything.
11:32They arrested Wilford on the spot.
11:33Meanwhile, Montague, now bankrupt, was preparing to run away.
11:38But Mercedes refused to go with him.
11:39She told him that Albert is not his son, but Edmund's.
11:42When Montague married Mercedes, she was already pregnant.
11:45That was the reason she agreed to marry him.
11:48Montague shouted in anger, but couldn't change anything.
11:50He rushed to the fort where he had hidden all the stolen treasure.
11:53But when he opened the chests, they were filled with sand.
11:56In the last chest, he found only a small chest piece, which he gave to Edmund.
12:00At that very moment, Edmund appeared.
12:02Montague now knew the truth.
12:04Enraged, he attacked Edmund with a sword.
12:06But Montague was no match for him.
12:08Edmund easily disarmed him and pinned him to the wall.
12:10Just as Edmund was about to deliver the final blow, Albert stepped in and said he wouldn't
12:15let his father die like this.
12:16Montague used the moment to secretly load bullets and gunpowder into a hidden gun.
12:21Then Mercedes came running and stopped Edmund.
12:24She told him the truth.
12:25That Albert was actually his son.
12:27Edmund was shocked.
12:28Just then, Montague aimed the gun at Edmund, but Jacob, acting fast, threw a knife with
12:33lightning speed.
12:34The bullet missed Edmund but hit Mercedes in the shoulder.
12:37Montague used the distraction to escape.
12:39Edmund chased him.
12:40Montague got on his horse and charged at him.
12:43Edmund's sword fell, and for a moment, Montague seemed to have the upper hand.
12:47But in the end, Edmund managed to knock Montague down and strike him fatally.
12:52Montague died on the spot.
12:53After his burning fire of revenge finally cooled down, Edmund, along with his wife and son,
12:59went back to the island where he had spent 13 years of his life.
13:03There, he remembered his mentor, Abe Faria.
13:06In the end, he bought the island so that no one would have to suffer the pain he went through.
