00:01It was all smiles for England in a recovery session at St George's Park, as they looked to reignite their rivalry with neighbours Wales in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium on Thursday evening.
00:14In England's last match, they ran out as 5-0 winners away from home in a World Cup qualifier against Serbia in what was undoubtedly the best performance of the Thomas Tuchel era so far.
00:27And following that camp, Tuchel has named a largely unchanged England squad to take on Wales and then Latvia in a World Cup qualifier.
00:37This means that Jude Bellingham has no place in this current England camp and Thomas Tuchel himself is looking forward to the upcoming games.
00:46We tried to find our own principles and our own identity.
00:55We were trying this.
00:57I think we could see it in Serbia that we were playing a high, I thought we were playing like a Premier League team.
01:07We were playing with high intensity.
01:10We played a high press in the opponent's half.
01:13We played with a high ball speed.
01:16We didn't wait for the pressure of the opponent.
01:18Ball speed was a big thing for us to increase and to overcome the middle block or the deep block more fluid.
01:27So we will build on these principles because we think they're easy to learn.
01:32They're simple, clearly easy to understand.
01:35And yeah, maybe less is more than for us.
01:39Club teams, club coaches have much more time to be deep into details and to mould their systems into the detail.
01:47It's the nature of international football that different players come from different styles and different clubs.
01:55So we tried to create something for us that still reflects the fans, the attitude towards the game.
02:08So we played a very emotional, we played a very, I think, courageous match and had a very courageous approach, brave approach.
02:17In Serbia and the players feel happy about this and feel also like they are well represented in this kind of style.
02:28And this is what we will keep on going.
02:30We have a very complicated, very difficult match against Wales to play here, which is in itself not a friendly.
02:38So, and they are very, very well coached team.
02:41So there's a next step to go.
02:42And then very likely in Latvia, we have to break down a deep block again.
02:47So we have to be on top of our game and to take the next step.
02:51Wales head coach Craig Bellamy was not concerned about the rivalry between the two nations, however,
02:56and instead paid England a number of compliments.
03:01No, I don't believe in friendlies.
03:07There isn't when you're representing your countries.
03:10I don't believe in them.
03:14So we're respectful to what we have coming up as well.
03:20But we're going to win.
03:24Well, I say going to win.
03:26I don't mean to sound like we're going there to try and win.
03:30Yes.
03:30We just took Dav's headline away.
03:34Yeah, I know.
03:35Yeah.
03:36Again, sorry, David.
03:38No, the rivalry, it's for others.
03:44I don't buy inside.
03:45It's not me.
03:47I've grown up in England.
03:51I have full respect for how they support their athletes.
03:55Always have them.
03:56And my football education has been in England.
04:02So I'm beyond grateful for what England have given me.
04:06Massively grateful.
04:08And I just see it, honestly, as a top nation.
04:13You know, they've got to the finals, you know, two finals in a row with the Euros.
04:18Now, this is a team, then they go to tournaments, they're looking to win it.
04:22And I believe that it's a matter of time.
04:24I thought it would have happened before now,
04:26but it's still a matter of time.
04:29We get the opportunity to go and play.
04:33Like I said, a top manager, a top nation.
04:37Rivalry and all that.
04:37That's for what?
04:41You know, our biggest rivals are ourselves.
