Poisonous Insect, also known as Gaichu (害虫), is a Japanese drama film directed by Akihiko Shiota. The film stars Aoi Miyazaki as Sachiko Kita, a 13-year-old girl grappling with profound personal turmoil. After her father abandons the family and her mother attempts suicide, Sachiko becomes the subject of school gossip, further isolating her. As she withdraws from school and her peers, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery amidst the challenges of adolescence.
