Augustus Caesar had sent a military campaign in 25 BC under the command of the Roman governor of Egypt, Aelius Gallus. Due to the Romans' lack of geographical and political information about Yemen, the Roman army of ten thousand fighters was annihilated in front of the walls of Ma'rib. The Abbasid and Ayyubid states failed to control Yemen, and the Ottomans suffered the same fate, even calling Yemen the graveyard of Anzul. Many people are ignorant of the reason for calling Yemen the graveyard of the invaders. Here is the reason for this name, which was given to Yemen before the Christian era. The reasons are as follows: Yemen was called the graveyard of the invaders. This name was given by the Romans when the Roman army of ten thousand soldiers drowned in the sands of Ma'rib, led by Aelius Gallus in 24 BC. Yemen is a base for human supply and military support, and this name was given to the people of Yemen by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in his saying, "Reinforcement has come to you." There are many hadiths about Yemen, the graveyard of Anzul. Or the land of pains, this is what the Turks called Yemen, the people of strength and great might, as stated in Surat An-Naml, God Almighty said: They said, “We are men of strength and great might, and the command is yours, so consider what you command.” The slaughterhouse located west of Sana’a was given this name because of the largest massacre that took place in history on the threshold of the city of Sana’a’s western side, and the name is the Antoll slaughterhouse. The Ottoman Turks did not need to invade any country and occupy it with more than five thousand to ten thousand fighters to occupy it, and their strategy would precede them in most countries, so they would surrender to them without a fight until they came to Yemen with seven thousand fighters, and they were exterminated in a week. Turkey reinforced it with forty thousand fighters, and most of them were exterminated at the hands of the Yemenis. After that, it added another forty thousand fighters to become eighty-seven thousand fighters. A large part of this campaign headed to Sana’a after fierce battles that faded with the tribes of Rada’a, Hajjah, Amran, and Sa’dah until they reached the threshold of Sana’a from the western side with their army, which was more than 25 thousand fighters. The most heinous battle they received in history took place on the threshold of Sana’a, where In one day, 12,000 Turkish soldiers were killed, and that is why it was called the Anatol massacres. For example, an old Turkish song that is still popular among Turks to this day talks about Yemen as a beautiful country, but a harsh one, in an eloquent translation of the tragedy of the Turkish army in the Amdoul cemetery, so the
