00:00Leigh-Anne Rimes is opening up to us about having to hit rock bottom to get better.
00:04Now she's at her very best and just getting started in this week's cover story.
00:08Since becoming a country music star at just 14, the Grammy winner has charted her own course to
00:14success through ups and downs. She tells us everybody wanted to keep me this little girl
00:18forever, and that was just not possible. She added for so long, I was afraid of all these
00:24different aspects of myself because we're told not to allow that out. I'm not afraid of myself
00:29any longer. The singer is gearing up to star in her new TV show, 9-1-1 Nashville, and tells us that
00:34everything she does at this point in her life is moving towards freedom. She says whether that is
00:39freedom of expression or freedom in my body or in my mind. She adds, I'm just really grateful that I
00:45have plenty of what not to do behind me, and it definitely informs what I do now and how I do it.
00:51Over the years, Leigh-Anne has been candid about her health struggles, including anxiety, depression,
00:56and psoriasis, but tells us that she feels great, saying, I feel good even though I have my
01:02hormonally challenged days. Going through perimenopause is no joke, but for the most part,
01:06I feel really good in my body. And at 43, she is disciplined about her health and wellness after
01:11enduring so much. She says, we all have to break, and not just once. It will happen often. Rock bottom
01:17looks different for everybody, but you have a choice. In my darkest moments, it's always been about
01:22how do I find the light again? And by her side is her husband, Eddie Cibrian, whom she wed back in
01:272011. She tells us, if I look back at our relationship, I'm really in awe of the things
01:32we've endured and how we've grown together. The place we're in now is just so comfortable and calm
01:38and quiet. We really find our quiet together. That's really important.
