00:00Once overlooked by global investors, Uzbekistan is now rewriting the rules of economic transformation in Central Asia.
00:11Why are global investors choosing this country and how is the government balancing growth with sustainability and inclusion?
00:19Hello and welcome to Business Line Uzbekistan.
00:21Over the past eight years, investments attracted to Uzbekistan reached more than 111 billion euros and the gross domestic product has doubled, reaching about 100 billion euros last year.
00:34Gold and foreign exchange reserves have exceeded more than 41 billion euros.
00:39Today, 16,000 foreign-invested enterprises operate across the nation, not just injecting capital, but reshaping the economy from the ground up.
00:49The government's goal is bold to double GDP to 172 billion euros by 2030, with foreign direct investment at the heart of that strategy.
01:00From renewable energy and advanced manufacturing to IT and logistics, foreign investment is driving job creation and unlocking new industries.
01:10With clear ambitions and growing investor confidence, Uzbekistan is building a future powered by global partnerships.

01:18In this factory, the smell of chocolate and caramel mixes with the sound of progress.
01:24Every day, 200 tons of sweets are produced here.

01:58According to the 2025 Index of Economic Freedom, the country now leads the region in trade freedom.
02:20Now we see more and more interest in sectors critical minerals, services, IT sector, finance sector, and many others,
02:27which is a significant departure from the type of businesses that were interested in Uzbekistan, say, 9 or 10 years ago.
02:35Countries like China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey are now among Uzbekistan's top investors.
02:41In Bukhara, Saudi Arabia's aqua power is building two 500-megawatt wind farms.
