AN ESPN reporter was brutally leveled while covering a college football game from the sidelines.

Tori Petry was on duty on Saturday at TCU Lane Stadium, where the Baylor Bears hosted the Kansas State Wildcats.

An intense encounter took place between the two college football teams in Waco, where the Bears won 35-34 following a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback.

But it wasn't Baylor's resilience on the gridiron that made headlines in Texas.

Instead, people were left talking about the shocking hit Petry took during the game.

The journalist was standing on the sidelines doing her job when the unthinkable happened.

It was during the second quarter when Kansas ace Avery Johnson was rushing forward before getting pushed out of bounds by Baylor's Kyland Reed.

Johnson was moving at great speed and had no time to slow down as he approached the lines.

That is when the quarterback accidentally smashed right into the ESPN journalist.

Petry went flying and brutally crashed on the grass in front of thousands in attendance and millions watching from home.

Players, including Johnson, and coaches quickly went over to check on her.

Thankfully - and remarkably - Petry stood up immediately and dusted herself off.

The reporter has yet to comment on this extraordinary incident.

Petry combined her passions for modeling and football to forge a successful journalism career.

The Emmy award-winning reporter worked for the Detroit Lions after playing the sport and competing for Miss Florida Teen USA.

Petry graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude with the highest honors in the top 10 of her class.

Before going to school, though, the eventual TV host and sideline reporter played semi-pro football while entering pageants.

Petry said, "I didn’t do my first pageant until my senior year of high school.

"I had actually applied for a scholarship that required me to read an essay on stage at a community event.
