Protesters attend NSW Premier Chris Minns Albury press conference

00:00Hello Premier. Good morning. Good morning Premier. We need a new hospital. It's a dog's breakfast.

00:15We're extremely disappointed. We all made the effort to come and see him today

00:20and he barely looked up from the car. We've made hand-painted signs to welcome him here

00:27and he's not even stopping to listen or chat. Didn't wind his window down, didn't look up.

00:32So extremely insulted by that. He said one of his reasons for not stopping and speaking to you

00:38was because he didn't have good news. Your response to him saying that?

00:43My response is that he needs to rethink that. He needs to remember that he's the Premier

00:48of the whole of New South Wales. This is Albury, we're part of New South Wales

00:51and as far as I can see Bankstown just got an extra $700 million

00:56on top of their $1.3 billion for their hospital

00:59and they have less emergency department presentations each year

01:04than we have at Albury-Odonga. So he needs to do his research.

01:07He needs to go back and look at it again because this is the whole reason

01:12we were asking him to stop and listen to us because whoever's giving him the information

01:16is not feeding him the correct information. We need more and we've got a community

01:20of around 300,000 people that rely on this hospital and we're totally let down.

01:28We're so insulted that he would come and brag about public housing that he's,

01:33you know, taken opportunity to go in there and spruik about public housing

01:37that their government is taking credit for, whilst just down the road

01:41there's a hospital that's been neglected for decades and people lined up and 30 to 70

01:48beds short every day. Why doesn't he go to the federal politician, Mark Butler,

01:55and ask for funding for a greenfield? The solution is there, there is an off-ramp,

01:59he's just not willing to listen and for him to say that he has no good news for us,

02:04well he has, he's in a position of power. Go back, rethink it and bring some good news

02:09to us because that's his job.
