00:02Made me think it would be nice to have someone in my corner
00:04Does that mean you're ready to date again?
00:06Don't say that, that just sounds awkward
00:08I'm Nathan Price, Jr.

00:13This is a much bigger commitment than I first thought
00:15I'm gonna be gone for weeks at a time
00:17It's a little something to say congratulations on your new job
00:21Thank you for taking such good care of him
00:23Dodger deserves a home where he's gonna be ridden every day
00:25Nathan Price, Sr. has Alzheimer's
00:28Had no idea?
00:28Yeah, that's because Nathan was keeping the illness a secret
00:31Until Lou decided to announce it to the CEO of Crown Shoppers
00:35When we were in Vancouver
00:36I'm Lou, by the way
00:37Gracie
00:38How long are you gonna be here?
00:39Depends on how long it takes me to clean up your mess
00:41I made you choose between Nathan and this family
00:44And that was so unfair
00:46The only thing that matters is family
00:47What do you mean?
00:48You should get to be in love
00:50No, we agreed to stay apart and we had a million good reasons
00:52That's not gonna work for me

01:20It's nothing fancy, just dinner with my family.
01:43Oh, yeah, that sounds great.
01:46And also a little terrifying.
01:48Well, they'll be on their best behavior.
01:50No, I just mean, I don't know, it seems like we're making it official.
01:57Everybody already knows about us, except for Lindy.
02:01Yeah.
02:03Maybe we should think about telling her.
02:05Is that something you're ready for?
02:08I'm ready.
02:10You sure?
02:11Yeah.
02:12It's a big step.
02:13I know.
02:15I want her to know, but I don't know how she's gonna react.
02:22She loves you.
02:23Yeah.
02:24And Molly's part of the package.
02:25That gets me some bonus points.
02:26Yes, it does.
02:27It's just, it's only been her and I since Ty passed away, and I just, I don't know if
02:34it's gonna open up some feelings, I don't know.
02:39Yeah.
02:40I get that.
02:41I just wanna be careful.
02:42As long as you know I'm here for you.
02:45Are you?
02:46For good.
02:47Yeah.
02:48Really?
02:49Yeah.
02:50I'm so lucky.
02:51Okay.
02:52Okay.
02:53Good.
02:54No more distracting me.
02:56I gotta go.
02:57I'm needing a client.
02:59But, 7.30?
03:00Dinner?
03:017.30 dinner.
03:02Okay.
03:03Don't be late.
03:04I won't.
03:18Oh no.
03:20I'm so late for work.
03:24I have to go get changed.
03:25You know, I'm thrilled to see you riding more, but you still have responsibilities at
03:29the diner.
03:30I know, I know.
03:31I just, I lost track of time.
03:32It won't happen again.
03:33You need a lift?
03:34Uh, actually, I was thinking since I have my license now, maybe I could borrow the SUV.
03:41Please.
03:43Okay.
03:45You got me back.
03:47It feels so good we had.
03:50All we needed.
03:52I shouldn't be calling now.
03:54I'm tongue tied up at midnight.
03:57I can't take you.
03:58It doesn't look like.
03:59I can't take you.
04:00I can't take you.
04:01I can't take you.
04:02I can't take you.
04:03Those are wild horses.
04:25They don't usually come down from the high country this time of year.
04:33And at the break of day you sank into a dream.
04:58You dreamer, you dreamer.
05:06You dreamer.
05:20Oh, wow.
05:22So this is the new place.
05:24What do you think?
05:25I think it's beautiful, and it's all yours.
05:28Well, it's mine in the bank.
05:29My parents think that I've lost my mind,
05:31but I knew as soon as I drove through the front gates this was my home.
05:34Congratulations, Miley.
05:36It's definitely a dream come true, but it turns out dreams are expensive,
05:40and that's sort of why I need your help.
05:42Follow me.
05:44This is Queenie.
05:46She's my pride and joy.
05:48Don't be jealous, Ace.
05:50I love you too.
05:51Well, either Queenie has a very big hay belly or she's very pregnant.
05:56Just do any day now.
05:57It's her first foal and my first attempt at breeding champion barrel horses.
06:02You're okay.
06:03Is she always pacing like this?
06:05Started a few weeks ago.
06:06Well, I mean, it is common for pregnant mares to be a little unsettled,
06:10especially if it's their first foal.
06:11So this is normal?
06:12Yeah.
06:13I think that it's normal for horse owners to be a little nervous too.
06:18And I thought I was being all cool, calm and collected.
06:21What gave me away?
06:22Well, that camera there, for starters, I call it the Queenie Cam.
06:27I'm not normally this neurotic, I swear.
06:29No, it's okay.
06:31Trust me.
06:32Hey.
06:37Tea touch.
06:38Why didn't I think of that?
06:39Good girl.
06:40Sometimes it's just the simple things.
06:42You wanna give it a try?
06:44Mm-hmm.
06:46You'll go greater places
06:48Than where you are today
06:52And you'll sing greater songs
06:54Than the melodies of yesterday
06:58And you'll find greater treasures
07:00Than the things that you've been sold
07:03And the darkness that I don't remind you
07:09That you feel alone
07:12Officials are keeping a close eye on weather conditions
07:17As the forest fire west of Hudson continues to burn out of control.
07:21Residents are advised to stay clear of the area.
07:23Winds are expected to pick up as we move into the evening
07:26Which will further complicate efforts to extinguish the fire.
07:31The flag team are kicking things off with a plan to show.
07:34For the best seats, stay right here with you
07:35Hey, Grandpa.
07:36Hello.
07:37Hello.
07:38We'll be live at the Louisville Romeo finals
07:39With your host, Daryl Getty and Tim Clemens.
07:41That's coming up right after the break.
07:43Hey!
07:44What about Dad's segment?
07:45No, this is, this is more important.
07:48Besides, we watched him yesterday. I'm tired of his bad jokes.
07:51Because of the weather conditions up to this point.
07:54But we are still experiencing drier than usual year-over-year averages.
07:59Authorities are being very cautious this season.
08:02Especially after the devastating fires in Jasper last summer.
08:06Tim show on yet?
08:08Oh, Grandpa changed the channel.
08:10We'll just have to stream it later.
08:11Oh.
08:12Talked to Jessica this morning.
08:14Sounds like they're having the adventure of a lifetime together.
08:16Yeah.
08:17I just hope this newfound celebrity isn't going to Dad's head.
08:19Haha.
08:20Yeah.
08:21Who am I kidding?
08:22It smells amazing in here.
08:24Hey, Katie.
08:25Lindy is making risotto.
08:26Oh, are ya?
08:27I've been stirring for hours.
08:29Uh, it's been about ten minutes.
08:31But how about you take a break and wash up for dinner, okay?
08:33I'll come with you.
08:35Have you guys been following the wildfire news?
08:37Sounds like it's getting pretty bad.
08:39Yeah, I'm just glad we invested in that fire break last year.
08:42So, are you nervous?
08:44About the wildfire?
08:45Yeah, a little.
08:46What about the fires?
08:47What about Nathan?
08:48You know, breaking bread with the family for the first time.
08:51I mean, you guys are obviously serious.
08:53Yeah, we are.
08:54And I want him to feel welcome, so please, no business talk.
08:57No, Amy, I wouldn't.
08:59Look, I meant it when I said that I want to do things differently this time, okay?
09:03So, Nathan is very welcome here.
09:06Okay.
09:08Although, it is a little weird that he hasn't signed that agreement to share his shelf space with us.
09:13I mean, what is taking him so long?
09:14I don't know.
09:15I mean, maybe it has something to do with his sister being back in town.
09:18When am I going to meet this mysterious sister?
09:20I really don't like what I'm seeing on the news in there.
09:23They're saying the fire's getting worse.
09:25Maybe we should cancel dinner.
09:26No, Grandpa, let's not overreact.
09:31Um, we're being evacuated.
09:34Oh, no.
09:35Yep.
09:36Let's go.
09:37Oh, honey, I don't think there's enough room in the trailer.
09:42What about Dodger?
09:43Well, the gates are open.
09:44If the herd needs to make a run for it, they can.
09:45Thanks, Grandpa.
09:46Um, any chance we can use that old red trailer?
09:47Oh, it's got two flat tires.
09:48I knew I should have fixed them.
09:49I'm not leaving him.
09:50You won't have to, honey.
09:51I've got a stable hand coming with a big trailer for all the horses.
09:53Okay, but where are we going to take them?
09:54Fairfield's outside the evacuation zone, and I've got plenty of room for people to go.
09:57I know.
09:58I know.
09:59I know.
10:00I know.
10:01I know.
10:02I know.
10:03I know.
10:04I know.
10:05I know.
10:06I know.
10:07I know.
10:08I know.
10:09I know.
10:10I know.
10:11I know.
10:12I know.
10:13I know.
10:14I know.
10:15I know.
10:16I know.
10:17I know.
10:18I know.
10:19And I've got plenty of room for people and horses, so tell anyone that needs a space to
10:22come to mine.
10:23Thank you, Lisa.
10:24You girls get going.
10:25No time to waste.
10:26I'm staying to make sure Dodger's okay.
10:28No, you are not.
10:29Lisa and I'll make sure he gets loaded with the rest of them.
10:32You go on to Fairfield with your mom now.
10:34Has anybody seen Lindy?
10:37Hey.
10:38There you are.
10:39We gotta go, sweetie.
10:40Is the house going to burn?
10:42No.
10:43No.
10:44No.
10:45No.
10:46No.
10:47No.
10:48No.
10:49No.
10:50No.
10:51No.
10:52No.
10:53No.
10:55No.
10:56No.
10:57No.
10:58No.
10:59No.
11:00No.
11:01No.
11:02No.
11:03No.
11:04No.
11:05Is the house going to burn down?
11:11Here's what I know.
11:12The fire is still really far away, but they want to evacuate all of us just to be safe.
11:17But that does mean that we have to leave right now, okay?
11:20Okay.
11:21Love you.
11:22Come on.
11:27Stand by for emergency vehicles turning west.
11:30We're expecting winds to get worse as we head into the evening, so we're evacuating a pretty
11:33wide area to ensure everyone's safety.
11:36How long do you think the evacuation will last?
11:38That's impossible to say at this point.
11:39We're going to keep a close eye on conditions.
11:43Make no mistake.
11:44As of right now, the risk to property and lives is extremely high, so it's important to
11:48listen to the evacuation orders and to get to safety.
11:51We'll be there soon, sweetheart.
11:52Thank you, Sharon.
11:53Just think of it like a big sleepover at Lisa's house with all of us and the horses.
11:59Thanks so much.
12:02Okay.
12:03We're all set.
12:05You go into Fairfield without me.
12:07What are you talking about?
12:08You can catch a ride with your driver right now.
12:11I would rather go with you.
12:13Yeah, well, I'm not leaving.
12:15What do you mean you're not leaving?
12:16The fire is coming this way, and we are evacuating.
12:18Yeah, well, I'm staying here to protect the ranch.
12:26Protecting the ranch, what does that look like?
12:27Well, I'm going to move the propane tank away from the house.
12:30Maybe cut back some of the brush in the yard, get a hose on the roof.
12:35Okay, but I will help.
12:36Please, Lisa, just go to Fairfield.
12:39I need you to be there for the girls.
12:41And what do I tell them?
12:42I'll tell them.
12:44Well, I'll be there when I can.
12:51Okay.
12:52Yeah.
12:53Fast as you can, please.
12:58I'm not going anywhere without you.
12:59Please.
13:00We can argue about it, or we can get to work.
13:02It's up to you.
13:04Let's get to work, Pat.
13:05Yeah.
13:12Hey.
13:13Hey.
13:14So much for our dinner plans, huh?
13:17I can't believe this is happening.
13:18I know.
13:19Okay, we need to start organizing the evacuees.
13:21Horses are going to need feed and water, and eventually so are the people.
13:26Sorry, have we met?
13:27Uh, Lou, this is my sister, Gracie.
13:29Oh, great.
13:30You were at the open house.
13:32You were?
13:33Your grandpa makes one heck of a burger.
13:36It's funny, I don't think you mentioned you were Nathan's sister.
13:40Didn't I?
13:41Hey, Lou.
13:43Yeah, okay.
13:44Uh, all hands on deck.
13:48Come on.
13:49You can do it.
13:50Good boy.
13:51Oh, you did great.
13:53There you go.
13:54He's a brave boy.
13:56All right, just head into that second barn there.
13:58Yeah, thank you.
14:00Miley, hey, what's wrong?
14:01I tried to go to Queenie, but she got spooked and she ran off.
14:04And then I tried looking for her, but I couldn't see anything.
14:06It's okay, it's okay.
14:07I know it's scary, all right?
14:08But horses always run towards safety in a fire or a storm.
14:10No, I should have stayed.
14:11I should have kept looking for her.
14:12No, you did the right thing.
14:13Is Ace on the trailer?
14:15Okay, why don't you go get him settled, and I'll come find you in a bit.
14:17It's okay.
14:20You didn't tell me you were at the open house?
14:23I must have slipped my mind.
14:26Amy means a lot to me.
14:27You could at least try to be civil with your family.
14:29I don't think that's asking too much.
14:30Does Amy's family even know about the two of you?
14:34Of course they do.
14:37What about her daughter?
14:38Does she know you're a couple?
14:39Not that it's any of your business, but we were going to tell her after dinner tonight.
14:43Was that your idea to wait that long, or was it Amy's?
14:48Yeah.
14:49You know, considering the fact that we haven't spoken in I don't know how many years,
14:54you're asking an awful lot of personal questions.
14:56Okay, you're right.
14:58I'm sorry.
15:00I haven't been around, but I'm trying to change that.
15:05And you're my little brother, and I care about you.
15:08If that's true, then you'll sign the deal with Heartland.
15:10It's time to put this ridiculous feud behind us.
15:29Oh.
15:31Miley?
15:32No, no, no.
15:33This can't be happening.
15:34What's wrong?
15:35Where's Queenie?
15:36I have to go get her.
15:37Where is she?
15:38She's at my ranch.
15:39Can you watch Ace for me?
15:40Yeah, of course.
15:41But what about the evacuation?
15:42I'm sorry.
15:43I've got to go.
15:44Really?
16:04The smoke's getting bad.
16:05We have to go.
16:06I told you, I'm staying here.
16:08What else is there to do?
16:10I still have to wet everything down, set sprinklers on the roof.
16:13You really think that that's going to stop a wall of fire from reaching the house?
16:16It's not always a wall of fire that burns down houses, Lise.
16:19Most of the time, it's embers that fall from the sky.
16:22Okay, but...
16:23Those embers, they start small fires.
16:24You can extinguish them, but you have to be here to do it.
16:27Otherwise, they burn out of control, and that's when you lose everything.
16:31Okay.
16:32I know what this place means to you, what it means to all of us.
16:35That this house and this barn are made of wood and stone and can be rebuilt.
16:40Do you want to risk your life when you mean so much to so many people?
16:53Amy!
16:55I'm worried about Miley.
16:56What happened?
16:57She said something about going to get her horse.
16:59I tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen.
17:01Miley, hey.
17:02What's going on?
17:03You said that she'd run to safety, but she didn't.
17:04She went home.
17:05We will figure this out, okay?
17:06I just need you to come back to Fairfield so we can make a plan.
17:08No!
17:09No, what if something happens to her?
17:10What if she loses the fall?
17:11I have to help her.
17:12Miley, this isn't safe.
17:13Just come back.
17:14Amy, I can't talk right now.
17:15Miley, please.
17:16Hi.
17:17The highway's closed.
17:18No, no.
17:19I have to get to my ranch.
17:20There's a horse there.
17:21And it's just...
17:22Nobody's getting through.
17:23Yes.
17:24Go back the way you came.
17:25Come on.
17:26Come on.
17:27Come on.
17:32Hi.
17:33The highway's closed.
17:35No, no.
17:36I have to get to my ranch.
17:37There's a horse there.
17:38And she's just...
17:39Nobody's getting through.
17:40Yes.
17:41Just go back the way you came.
17:55Well, my mom used to measure my height on this door jamb when I was a kid.
18:05Read all the markings and faded over time.
18:09You can still see Marion's.
18:12Of course, the grandkids.
18:15Great grandkids.
18:16Look at this.
18:17Amy measured Lindy's height just last year.
18:20I'm sure she's grown a lot since then.
18:23You know, what you said earlier, it's true.
18:26Everything can be rebuilt.
18:29And I suppose there's some comfort in knowing that the...
18:33The stones in the fireplace would survive but this.
18:38These memories will never be replaced.
18:42Okay.
18:43Wait here.
18:47Amy, this is a bad idea.
18:48Well, I can't leave Miley out there by herself.
18:50Yeah, well, maybe she'll have the good sense to come back.
18:52Okay, well, Queenie's still trapped there.
18:54All set.
18:55This is crazy.
18:56Yeah, I agree.
18:58It's not worth the risk.
18:59If it's too dangerous, I'll come back.
19:01No, you won't.

19:30Bye.
19:40Bye.
19:45Bye.
19:47the fire continues to burn out of control west of hudson earlier today there seemed to be no
19:59stopping the fire's advancement as it burned well over 1700 hectares of forest high winds
20:06have only worsened the situation several rural properties have already been destroyed with
20:11many more at risk firefighters are now arriving hey uh we should do something for these kids
20:17they're scared out of their minds like turn the table well they all have phones so that won't
20:23really make a difference i uh i have an idea come with me
20:29what are you up to well you said this can't be replaced
20:49and i agree so let's take it with us i appreciate this lease i do but it's more than just this door jam
21:00everything in this house is attached to a memory or a feeling i know honey but you can't save everything
21:06and if you try you run the risk of losing everything do you understand what i'm saying
21:10i do okay we don't know how long that road is going to be possible either we leave now or we
21:18don't leave at all there's no chance that you'd go on your own is there no there isn't i'm afraid
21:25you're stuck with me when did you get so stubborn i learned from the master
21:32all right you win
21:37well this house doesn't burn down
21:46this is gonna be a real pain to fix
21:54no sign of miley maybe she turned back
22:01hey hi queenie hi what's the plan we're gonna pony her back
22:08it's okay
22:11amy we're gonna need a new plan she's in labor how far along
22:18far enough we're not moving her until she's delivered her foal
22:21so i thought we could set up a couple of cross rails here and use those cones to uh make a zigzag
22:30formation do you think those kids really feel like training the horses right now i think they
22:35could use the distraction
22:36zigzag huh or whatever you want just have fun with it
22:43seems like uh my sister and your brother are getting pretty serious about each other
22:51i will judge him by the way he followed her into the fire yeah i'd say he's head over heels
22:56it's nice they found each other it's a little inconvenient though wouldn't you say
23:01i guess you can't choose who you fall in love with
23:04so you're a romantic maybe but i wouldn't mistake that for weakness i know what you were doing at the
23:17open house checking out the lay of the land maybe scoping out the competition i wouldn't go that far
23:24but i was i was curious about the woman that told crown shoppers that my father has alzheimer's
23:31yeah that was a uh regrettable situation regrettable for us worked out pretty well for you
23:41regrettable because it hurt my sister and your brother
23:44but my family's trying to undo the damage and
23:51which is why you should sign that agreement that we made
23:55you know it would level the playing field for both our ranches
23:59and more importantly it's going to clear a path for amy and nathan
24:02so you're turning over a new leaf
24:05i just think some things are more important than business
24:09like family
24:13exactly
24:15you are romantic
24:19hey hey hey
24:25oh
24:27uh...
24:29uh...
24:31something's wrong
24:33i'm gonna check the position of the floor see what's going on
24:36yeah
24:38it's okay
24:40it's okay
24:42oh girl you're okay

25:45i tried but she wants to be here when her mom gets back
25:48she went to miley's ranch with nathan
25:51yeah
25:52i heard
25:53not that i approve but i'm sure she'll be back soon
25:55how are you holding up
25:58i was okay and then i started doom scrolling
26:13so many people are posting images of their ranches burning down
26:19what if that happens to us
26:23well i have to admit i've been wrestling with that myself
26:30all we can do is wait
26:33which is pretty much torture if you ask me
26:38maybe you should start by cutting back on that dreadful scrolling or whatever you call it
26:45yeah
26:46maybe you're right
26:48i do have some good news though my knees are aching pretty bad
26:52okay
26:55see when my knees act up like this it's a sure sign it's gonna rain
27:01that doesn't sound very scientific
27:04it's not but it does give me a little hope
27:09and besides
27:11if the worst does happen we'll be okay
27:16because we have each other
27:18which gives me even more hope
27:19which gives me even more hope
27:30one two three
27:32oh
27:34oh
27:35oh
27:36it's okay

27:39you're okay

27:45it's okay
27:46oh
27:47even if we can get the fall out how are we supposed to get them back to fairfield to get a trailer

27:52i don't know
27:53it's okay
27:54we're not gonna wait here

29:38no it wasn't just me nathan's sister helped
29:41it's her right there
29:43that's gracie price
29:46i didn't even recognize her
29:48what you knew her
29:49a long time ago
29:51probably haven't laid eyes on her in thirty years
29:54she used to spend time at the ranch with your mom
29:57really
29:58no i think she she kind of looked up to mary and you would have been too young to remember that
30:03it's funny that she never mentioned it to you
30:06yeah
30:08gracie price plays her cards pretty close
30:10i'm trying to convince her to sign the agreement she's holding out for some reason
30:14well it doesn't make sense it benefits them more than us
30:18i know i don't know she's playing some kind of game
30:20trying to figure out what my next move should be
30:23i thought you were bound and determined to do things differently this time

33:41I don't know yet.
33:42I want to honor the incredible way that she came into this world,
33:45but wildfire, smoky doesn't feel quite right.
33:51What about Lucky?
33:52Well, that's exactly what she is.
33:55I think that's a perfect name.
33:57I agree.
33:58Good one, pumpkin.
34:00Okay, it's getting late.
34:02Maybe we should get some rest?
34:04Come on, honey.

34:12Okay.
34:13Okay.
34:14Okay.
34:16Let's go.
34:47It sounds like the firefighters are making progress.
34:52And there's rain in the forecast, so we might be able to go home in the morning.
34:57Yeah, it's like we have a home to go home to.
35:02I'm sorry.
35:07It's been a long day.
35:10Yeah, it has.
35:13Queenie and her filly are doing great.
35:17You did a good thing.
35:19Yeah, but was it the right thing?
35:22Of course it was.
35:26I just...
35:29Lindy was upset and I left her alone.
35:32She wasn't alone. She was with your family.
35:34No, Nathan, I'm her mom.
35:36It is my job to make sure that she feels safe and protected.
35:41You know, she...
35:43She needs to know that she's the center of my world.
35:46It's been that way ever since her dad died and...
35:49I don't know if she's ready for that to change.
35:53So maybe we hold off on telling her about us.
36:00I want to tell her.
36:02I do.
36:04I just...
36:06I don't know if now is the right time.
36:09I told you from the start, I'd do this on your schedule.
36:12I'll wait as long as you and Linda need.
36:18Yeah.
37:17What do you think?
37:18I think...
37:23That filly wasn't the only one that was lucky.
37:26You got that right.
37:28What do you say we, uh, repair a door jam?
37:31There's nothing I'd rather do more.
37:46I'll do, Molly.
37:49I wasn't worried.
37:51Liar.
37:53I didn't come all the way back here to watch everything dad's worked for go up in flames.
37:57Hey!
37:59Why did you come back?
38:01The real reason.
38:03To help.
38:05I've been running ranches my whole life and I am pretty good at it.
38:08I can turn all this around for us.
38:10If you'll let me.
38:12I've been doing this alone since dad got sick.
38:14I'm not too proud to accept help.
38:16Mm-hmm.
38:17But not if you're going to make Amy's family the enemy.
38:20Well, you don't have to worry about that because I'm going to sign the deal.
38:23You are.
38:24Mm-hmm.
38:27Who am I to stand in the way of true love?
38:33Mm-hmm.

39:13You are.
39:15No.
39:16When is it?
39:17Miley.
39:18Her ranch got hit by the wildfire.
39:21Please.
39:25When the rain is pouring, it's flooding in.
39:33As it blurt from all of it, I'll be there for you.
39:41I'll be there for you.
