00:00...that dance-off.
00:23Please welcome your host, Jeanette Munrara.
00:30Hello, and welcome to your Monday edition of It Takes Two.
00:35Live on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:38And just like that, week two is done.
00:4013 celebs earned a sweet escape from the red light,
00:43and sadly, one couple's time in the competition came to an end.
00:47But never fear, movie week is here,
00:50and the dance floor is rolling out the red carpet.
00:53Drama, glam, and a few surprises await.
00:56Here's what's coming up tonight, though.
00:58Despite really spinning things into action on Saturday night,
01:01Strictly's resident DJ Skinner got more than he bargained for.
01:05He's here to tell us what his short but salsa-sweet journey meant to him.
01:09A powerful Viennese waltz that Lewis and Katia felt was in full control.
01:13But after mixed reviews,
01:15how have they fared with the judges' comments that ruffled a few feathers?
01:18And despite being bottom of the overall leaderboard,
01:21Ross and Yvitsa found some sunshine on Leith and escaped the dreaded dance-off.
01:26We'll be asking how they hope to do a wee bit better for this week.
01:30And don't forget, you can send our couples your questions.
01:33So if you ever wanted to know what their pre-show rituals are,
01:36or who their strictly tanning buddy is,
01:38you can WhatsApp them on our number 0800 022 3801,
01:43or just scan the QR code on your screen.
01:46But first, week two got us all feeling a bit bonkers.
01:50With 80s hair, a kilt debut, and a jive that felt like a tango.
01:54Let's remind yourselves of Saturday night.
01:57It is week two in the ballroom.
02:00So please welcome...
02:01Our Straitly Stars!
02:03His hit was swinging so much,
02:05they were hitting the front row, darling.
02:08I don't often say this,
02:10but could we be looking at a front runner here?
02:13Keep the power, keep the passion, but I need refinement.
02:16I found it all too aggressive.
02:19If you're gonna make tiny, tiny little mistakes,
02:21don't do it in front of the judges.
02:23Dearly departed Len would have loved that heel turn.
02:27I think you're gonna be a ballroom queen.
02:30Your swivel was gold.
02:34You today were the epitome of grace and charm.
02:38The standing foot was pretty placed on the floor,
02:41so he didn't teach me about the standing legs,
02:43so I appreciate that, thank you.
02:46This week I could feel the nerves,
02:48there was a slight jitterbark with everything that you did.
02:51Airing on the side of dull for me, I've got...
02:54Oh!
02:57Nerves got the better of you,
02:58you're better than what you delivered today.
03:01I loved, loved, loved that.
03:05What are you, six foot fours?
03:06Six foot fours, I wish.
03:07Well, you danced five foot eight.
03:09You danced one of the best sambas.
03:12Acting!
03:13Yay!
03:14Yay!
03:15Yeah, it was interesting.
03:17Your family at home will be so proud of you
03:20because you enjoyed every minute of that, I can tell.
03:22APPLAUSE
03:28Please welcome Tom and Amy.
03:30Oh, commiserations to you both.
03:33Now, I can imagine that you're gutted,
03:35but how have your four biggest fans at home taken to the news?
03:39I ain't told them yet.
03:40Oh!
03:41OK, fine.
03:42LAUGHTER
03:44Yeah, look, they're gutted.
03:45They love Amy, do you know what I mean?
03:47And they was watching on Saturday night and last night
03:50and they're sad, bless them,
03:52but we can carry on dancing indoors.
03:54Yeah, you can carry on dancing.
03:55You can do it at home with them now.
03:56And now, let's go back to Saturday night
03:58because, Tom, you just looked like you were having the best time
04:01on the dance floor.
04:02Did you enjoy?
04:03What was it like for you?
04:04I was loving life.
04:05Yeah.
04:06I know I'm not the best dancer, but we had such a laugh out there.
04:09We did.
04:10And we did a lot of lifting.
04:12We're going to go to those in a second.
04:14But are you going to be trading in the dance floor
04:16maybe for a DJ job somewhere?
04:18A little DJ, yeah.
04:19I didn't know what I was...
04:20They weren't even real.
04:21You were just kind of vibing with it and the headphones.
04:23And, Amy, last week you mentioned that Tom was waking up
04:26at three in the morning to go to work,
04:28then going straight into training.
04:30He's worked so hard over the last few weeks.
04:32How impressed are you with all the work that he's put in?
04:35I am so impressed.
04:37An absolute beginner, you know, in terms of the entertainment world.
04:41Nor an actor nor a performer.
04:42So, you know, the performances you pulled out both Saturdays.
04:47I was so proud.
04:48And I also saw the development from day one learning it
04:51to getting it on the dance floor.
04:53And he worked so hard, but also we had so much fun.
04:56But best of all, who would have thought that Thomas Skinner
04:59would fall in love with dancing, including the salsa?
05:03I know. My personal favourite, Tom, just so you know.
05:05I thought we were with Samba.
05:07He's still on another style.
05:09Well, despite the final outcome, the salsa was really spectacular.
05:13I mean, you even got Dave Arch and the whole band involved
05:16in the whole thing. Look at them with the sunglasses on.
05:18And, of course, you mentioned then the lifts.
05:20You did so many of them back-to-back.
05:22Was it nerve-wracking at all for you to go out there and do it?
05:24Do you know what? I wasn't nervous.
05:26Really?
05:27Like, we had done it so many times with Amy.
05:29Like, I just knew what I had to do.
05:31Do you know what I mean?
05:32And it was good fun. It was really good fun.
05:35Do you know that's not normal, right?
05:36Not a lot of people would go out there and be calm.
05:38That's incredible.
05:39And I think the judges definitely commented on it.
05:41But the combined scores that you got from week one and week two
05:44put you at the lower end of the leaderboard.
05:46You got a 29 overall.
05:47Were you nervous at any point that you might be heading home
05:50or getting into the dance-off?
05:51Well, I was second from bottom, weren't I?
05:53Yeah.
05:54And I do move like a fridge.
05:57Oh, sure.
05:58So, let's have it right.
06:00Move like a fridge.
06:01You know what I mean?
06:02I was trying, but I wasn't good enough.
06:04You did really good, didn't he?
06:05He did.
06:06He did.
06:07I was dancing along with you.
06:08I told you before I was dancing along.
06:10Now, this is to the two of you because, Amy,
06:12you've been in that position before,
06:13the pressure of going into the dance-off.
06:15So, what did the two of you do to prepare before you went in?
06:18I just kept reminding Tom to go out there
06:20and give it his all but ultimately have fun
06:22and to really enjoy it.
06:25And it's like what Craig said,
06:27there's not a lot you can do technically anyway moments before.
06:30So, I just wanted him to trust himself
06:32and, you know, stay connected with me and have fun.
06:35And you give it everything.
06:37You did.
06:38I could see it in your eyes watching at home.
06:40I was like, he is loving this right now.
06:42That's good fun.
06:43You were playing against Chris and Nadia
06:44and all the judges did decide to save Chris.
06:46You handled that with so much grace when that happened.
06:49What was going through your mind at that point?
06:52Look, obviously I'd love to carry on going further,
06:54but it's a dancing competition.
06:56And I'm lucky to be here.
06:58I'm lucky to meet Amy.
06:59I've got a new friend here.
07:00Do you know what I mean?
07:01My family loves her.
07:02And it's been a great experience.
07:03Yeah.
07:04It's been good fun.
07:05I don't think you'd ever expect yourself to be DJing on Strictly Come Dancing.
07:08So, there you go.
07:09You got that in the bag.
07:10Well, it's never easy to say goodbye,
07:12but as someone who is the first to leave,
07:14it's always a bit tough to do that.
07:16Tom, you gave it your all with Amy,
07:17so I think it's only right that we celebrate your journey on Strictly.
07:20I'm going to throw myself in this 110 minutes.
07:24I've got the perfect dance, the Paso Doble.
07:29I am starting from the bottom.
07:31I ain't got a clue.
07:32I saw lovely beginning moments
07:37where I see his concentrated listen to what Amy said.
07:40I was surprised and I was pleased with you.
07:43Well done.
07:44Went out there, Paso Doble,
07:46and I loved every single minute of it.
07:49This week, we're doing the salsa.
07:51Wow.
07:52I'm going to do everything I possibly can
07:54to get those hips moving.
07:57Why is it so difficult?
07:59I've never moved my hips in my life,
08:01but I'm going to give it a go.
08:08It looked like you were competing in a weightlifting competition
08:10in Skegness, darling.
08:12You gave it some, and I thought it was a really good echo.
08:16We are going to have to say goodbye
08:18to Tom and Amy.
08:20She worked so hard.
08:22And I've got a new friend for life.
08:27It's been a wonderful experience.
08:29I've learnt a bit of dancing.
08:31Got to spend time with the fabulous Amy Dowden.
08:33Meet some lovely people.
08:35You'll tell your friends and I'll tell mine.
08:38Well, goodness gracious, what a time.
08:42Put yourself outside with comfort zone.
08:44I'm gutted, I'm out.
08:47Aw.
08:48Aw.
08:53Aw.
08:54Tom, I can see your eyes pouring up a little bit there.
08:57I'm dancing.
08:59Now, you said you didn't think you'd fall in love with dancing
09:02the way that you have.
09:03Are you a bit gutted, though, that you couldn't go farther
09:05and get the chance to do other dancing?
09:07Yeah, because I wanted to be bad at other dances as well.
09:09Yeah.
09:10I was looking forward to that.
09:12Well, you definitely brought the confidence and positivity.
09:15So, Amy, for you, what are you going to remember the most
09:18about Tom as a student?
09:19Do you know what?
09:20It was the work ethic, but also the laughs that we had in the studio
09:24and, you know, getting to know Tom.
09:27Aw.
09:28Yeah, it's been...
09:29It was short, but sweet.
09:30It was short, but sweet.
09:31Well, we've got a little comment for you that's come in live.
09:34We love things live, don't we?
09:36And this is from Abby and it says,
09:38Tom, what dance would you have most liked to have done?
09:41The ones that you didn't get to do?
09:43Is there anything you'd want to have done?
09:44Um...
09:45He doesn't even know, I don't think.
09:47The spinny one.
09:48I'll give you options.
09:49The tango.
09:50The tango.
09:51Nice.
09:52The one that you researched for him.
09:53You did the research for it, but you didn't get to do it,
09:55so maybe that would have been nice.
09:56I'll teach you it.
09:57You'll teach...
09:58You can still do it.
09:59You've got Amy for life now.
10:00That's it, the tango.
10:01Yeah.
10:02Tom, how would you sum up, in three words,
10:04your Strictly experience?
10:06Uh...
10:07Fun.
10:09Funny.
10:13I'm funnier.
10:14I'm funnier!
10:15No, no, no, no.
10:16It was that, like, brilliant...
10:18Um...
10:19Yeah, I don't know what to say, really.
10:20I just loved it.
10:21I loved it.
10:22That's it, loved it.
10:23We have loved watching you.
10:24Thank you so much for taking part.
10:25You both were absolutely brilliant.
10:27What a partnership.
10:29Let's hear it one last time for Tom and Amy.
10:32Yeah, sadly, we have to say goodbye to Tom and Amy,
10:37but we still have 14 remaining couples ready to star in Movie Week.
10:41And there's one leading lady who's not afraid to give some critique.
10:44Is it a bird?
10:45Is it a plane?
10:46Oh, no, no.
10:47It is, of course, Joanne Clifton in Choreography Corner.
10:50Oh, yes!
10:51This is nice, Joanne.
10:52Stop it!
10:53Stop it!
10:54Stop it!
10:55I like it.
10:56We have a lot to talk about, so let's go straight in.
10:57Yes.
10:58We are going to start with Harry and Karen.
10:59They did a quick step at the weekend.
11:00Now, Craig failed.
11:01There was a lot of gapping in between them and he said that Harry was dancing too much underneath himself.
11:13I was a little bit confused with what he meant.
11:14Did you understand it?
11:15What did you think?
11:16No, I was confused at the fact that we all started dancing too much underneath himself.
11:20I was confused at the fact that we also started dancing too much underneath himself.
11:25I was confused with what he meant.
11:28Did you understand it?
11:29What did you think?
11:30No, I was confused at the fact that we all saw the VT beforehand where it showed clearly that Karen was trying to stop him throwing his weight around.
11:37Because he is a runner.
11:38Yes.
11:39Like, he obviously was really, really going for it and stuff.
11:42And she's made it more compact, made the steps underneath his body so that she could focus on the frame and possibly on the timing as well.
11:49Because when you overdo it with your weight, you could go out of time as well.
11:52Yes.
11:53So I think that was a clever thing that Karen did and it was done on purpose and good for the other dancers.
11:57We did have a bit of gap in.
11:59That was because his hips were back.
12:01He wasn't using the standing leg, but we'll talk about that later on.
12:04We're going to get to that on the next couple of couples.
12:05Sway-wise, head-wise, wear a neck brace.
12:07The neck brace is a good one, isn't it?
12:09We've got a little bit like this.
12:10That's like saying, hmm, I wonder when I'm going to have a dinner.
12:12All right.
12:13Let's go on now to Lavoie and Aliash.
12:14Yes.
12:15They did a jive.
12:16Now, Anton felt Lavoie's standing foot was a little bit too placed onto the floor.
12:19Yeah.
12:20And as we know, the jive needs that bounce.
12:21Yeah.
12:22On that leg.
12:23It's absolutely crucial.
12:24Yeah.
12:25I mean, if we look at this clip here, and I know Aliash is a professional, does it all
12:29his life, but you can clearly see, side by side now, how Aliash looked more energetic
12:33and lighter on his feet.
12:34And that is because Lavoie is using her movement.
12:36She's focusing on the moving leg, which is doing the flicks.
12:39Amazing retraction, by the way.
12:41But the standing leg has been forgotten.
12:42Now, what we need in the jive for the standing leg, there's a bounce, as you said, with the
12:47ankles and the knees.
12:48There's also like a slip of the foot, which even with energy can become a little jump.
12:53Shall we show them in demo time?
12:55Oh my God, Joanne and I are doing demo time together.
12:58Which way should we go?
12:59I'm buzzing.
13:00You tell me.
13:01Okay, we're going to go this way.
13:02We're going to do four kicks.
13:03We're going to go kick, kick, drunken sailor.
13:05You do it with the good use of standing leg.
13:08I'll do it without, so you can clearly see the difference.
13:10Okay, go on then.
13:11Ready?
13:12And one, two, three, four.
13:15Kick, kick, drunken sailor.
13:17I mean, obviously I was exaggerating then, but you could clearly see the difference between
13:21energy there.
13:22You're welcome, everyone.
13:23I've still got it.
13:24All right.
13:25Let's go down to Stefan and Diane.
13:27They did the cha-cha-cha.
13:28Now, Shirley praised Stefan's wapacha timing.
13:32I love saying wapacha.
13:33And said how difficult it is to execute, but that he did it so brilliantly.
13:36Oh, so well.
13:37Is there anything else that stood out for you from them?
13:39Well, first let's explain to the viewers at home what the wapacha timing is.
13:42It's coming up here.
13:43Cha-cha-cha.
13:44So normally, the timing of a cha-cha-cha is two, three, cha-cha-cha, two, three, cha-cha-cha.
13:50Quite even.
13:51Wapacha timing is where you hold the last cha.
13:53So it goes, two, three, cha-cha, hold.
13:56And three, cha-cha, hold.
13:58And he did that brilliantly.
13:59He did.
14:00But what I love about him is he's embracing it.
14:02He's coming out.
14:03He's doing stuff on the floor.
14:04Body pops on the floor.
14:05I think he's wearing a wig.
14:06It was a wig.
14:07It was definitely a wig.
14:08It was a wig.
14:09Yeah, he's just embracing it.
14:10So lean into that, get more confidence, and then hopefully we'll have less mistakes.
14:13Exactly.
14:14He's doing brilliant.
14:15They're going to be fine.
14:16Okay, Ellie and Vito.
14:17Beautiful waltz.
14:18Motsi noted a huge improvement in Ellie this week.
14:21Would you agree?
14:22What did you think?
14:23Staying more on the floor.
14:24Yeah.
14:25That was great.
14:26I mean, what they have, the relationship between the couple, it's just so special.
14:29There was a moment where they looked at each other and rolled their shoulders back.
14:32And I just got all emotional because I was like, we're here, we're doing this together.
14:35Now, one thing that I would like is maybe put her a little bit over to the right a bit more on Vito,
14:41because we need to stretch out because there's a height difference.
14:44Yes.
14:45But she did do an amazing left hand.
14:47Now, I'm just going to show you, but I'll show you with my right because it's closer.
14:49Oh, do I get to?
14:50So if you put your arm up.
14:51Yeah.
14:52We've got muscle here.
14:53So go on, girl.
14:54Yeah, we do.
14:55And then this fits perfectly.
14:57Like, connects in like leg or something.
14:59Like, boom.
15:00It's easy for you though, isn't it, with my muscles?
15:01Yeah.
15:02So she did amazing.
15:03Chris and Nadia, they did a Viennese Waltz.
15:05Yes.
15:06Now, Shirley loved Chris's improvement, but wants him to keep working on extending that length in his body.
15:11So what would you help him with?
15:13What would you give as an advice to do that?
15:15Well, two things really.
15:16I'd like him to like feel as though there's a little hook at the top of his head that's pulling up
15:20so that all his vertebrae fall down his back like a lovely string of pearls.
15:25The other thing to be careful though is that Anton is saying dance to your full height, which is six foot two.
15:30I don't want that to affect the legs.
15:32We need him to bend the legs more.
15:33Here's my diagram.
15:34Oh, I love your diagram.
15:35So basically what's happening when he goes over Nadia there, he's not using the standing leg.
15:40He's coming out on a straight leg, which is making him do that.
15:43He needs to move in, go, bend that leg and take the spine across so that they can both stay vertical and move smoothly.
15:52And that'll sort out the gapping, same as Harry.
15:55Oh, that's the same as Harry.
15:56Yes.
15:57Exactly that.
15:58So good tips for two.
15:59Right, Amber and Nikita, they've done the samba and wow, what a samba.
16:02Birthday girl, Amber delivered a real treat for us with this one.
16:05Yeah.
16:06However, the judges all agree that she needs to work a little bit on her feet, on the feet placement.
16:10Yeah.
16:11What tips can you give her to help her with her feet?
16:13I mean, the thing is, it was an amazing dance.
16:14I mean, we are, I mean, we're nitpicking a little bit, but.
16:18We're nitpicking.
16:19Look at this.
16:20No, she's amazing, but she does dance a little bit on the outsides of her feet, which make
16:25her legs go a little bit wide and everything.
16:27Yeah.
16:28So basically, good Latin dancers, one more I've seen, I'm ballroom, but good Latin dancers,
16:32they tend to wear away the insides of their shoes, where the heel is, the insides of the
16:37heel.
16:38And that's because they're passing their feet and like sliding against it all the time.
16:41So I would like Amber to do this, just a simple exercise of two, three, cha-cha-cha,
16:47and rub those heels.
16:50So basically she needs to ruin her shoes.
16:52That's what she's got to do.
16:53Ruin her shoes, Amber.
16:54It's fine.
16:55It'll be fine.
16:56We've got eight more couples for you for tomorrow night, but for now, let's hear it for the amazing
17:00Joanne Clifton.
17:01Come again tomorrow, come again.
17:04Okay, our next guest of the night went from cage to center stage.
17:08They performed a powerful Viennese waltz that freed them from facing the dance-off.
17:12Here's a little reminder.
17:13You can jump, you can split, you can go, you can do this, you can do that, tick all those
17:19boxes, but I found it all too aggressive.
17:22I love the fact that you have the control of these explosive moments and then come back
17:27to your partner, but I see already improvement.
17:30You're very talented.
17:32I want you to keep the power, I want you to keep the passion, but I need refinement.
17:36You really brought the drama on Saturday night.
17:47What was it like for you?
17:48It was crazy in there, wasn't it?
17:50Like, I wasn't expecting it to, like, blow up so much, the atmosphere, the energy.
17:54I almost missed the beginning of the song.
17:57But, yeah, it was brilliant.
17:58I loved that dance.
17:59I really, really loved that dance.
18:00It was brilliant.
18:01Yeah, it was incredible.
18:02But you both seemed a little bit disheartened, though, when you got to the auditorium.
18:06What did you make of the judges' feedback?
18:08What did you think, Tom?
18:09Can I?
18:10I actually...
18:11Yeah, Louis.
18:12I actually...
18:13Sorry, Tommy.
18:15This is Jeanette, this is Louis.
18:16You're going bonkers.
18:17You're going bonkers.
18:18I'm going bonkers.
18:19No, because I actually have been thinking about it a lot.
18:22Right.
18:23Genuinely.
18:24And there's two sides to it, the way I feel about it.
18:27On one side, as a pro, as a teacher, I really would have loved for judges to, like, vocalise
18:34the appreciation for what he did do, for all the steps that we spent hours and hours learning.
18:39And they were there every single beneath all steps, including the fleckle that he did on his own,
18:45then joined me, the pivots, the naturals, the reverses, all of it.
18:48But on the other side, I thought, you know, dancing, it's an art form for me.
18:53And it's an expression.
18:54We put on this number together the way we felt was right for us.
18:58Right.
18:59And as any art, there will be opinions of people that would connect with it, that not so much,
19:05that would like it, not like it.
19:07We're here to create what we feel right and share it with people.
19:11Yes.
19:12You know, and then let the judges have their opinions.
19:14Of course, technically, you know, we're still learning.
19:16It's weird too.
19:17Yeah.
19:18Yeah, but it was a jam-packed routine.
19:20I mean, Kata doesn't take it easy, does she?
19:22But we never compromise on dancing.
19:24No.
19:25And I think that's really important.
19:26And I feel like if you're going to do a Viennese Waltz, you want to do the best version
19:29of that Viennese Waltz for the two of you, right?
19:31Lewis, you love the elegance of the dance, but you really struggled with the different components,
19:36especially the Fleckle, which you called a screwy-a-rooney?
19:40Screw-a-rooney.
19:41Screw-a-rooney.
19:42I can't even say it.
19:43Screw-a-rooney.
19:44Screw-a-rooney.
19:45Yeah.
19:46How did you come...
19:47Oh, we spent like the full week basically just working on technique, didn't we?
19:51Doing the Fleckle, doing the originals, which I like to call...
19:54The maturals.
19:55The maturals, which I call originals.
19:56The originals, okay.
19:57The OMG.
19:58The reverses, you know, the pivots, everything.
20:01We just drilled and drilled and drilled those all week.
20:03And it was, you know, it was what I was able to do at the end was a million miles away
20:07from what I was doing at the beginning of the week.
20:08Yeah.
20:09So I know there's more and more and more to go.
20:11Yeah.
20:12But it was the best I could have done on the night, really.
20:14Ah, it really was.
20:15Now, we know you're both taking the competition very, very seriously.
20:18Uh-huh, uh-huh.
20:19We're having a bit of fun in the training room.
20:21Oh, that's a call.
20:22It's a call.
20:23Understatement.
20:24Lewis, are you late for rehearsals again?
20:26Lewis, where are you?
20:29Where are you?
20:32Oh, my gosh, she'd swim across the city.
20:35All the way to...
20:37Can you even swim?
20:40Was that easy?
20:41I mean, you've got to be quite strong and your core's got to be quite tough to do that.
20:44I think it was...
20:45I think she was doing most of the strength, I think.
20:47We haven't had the dance to try any of the lifts yet, but we have started prepping for it.
20:53Already getting ready for it.
20:54You know, we need to become a proper partnership full of trust, so that's what we're doing.
20:58Okay.
20:59Yeah.
21:00Well, you're through to movie week and I can exclusively reveal you're dancing a Paso Doble to a version of this.
21:06That's the Plaza of Execution.
21:10A strictly tribute to the movie Zorro.
21:13Zorro.
21:14Yes.
21:15Lewis, it's only Monday, but how does the Paso Doble feel on you so far?
21:18Oh, it's been a bit of a day, to be honest, hasn't it?
21:21Yep.
21:22This morning was hard work.
21:25I laid on the floor and put the hat over my face at one point, because I wasn't really picking up the style, the shapes, the technique of it.
21:34But I think towards the end of the day, we had probably a nice little 30 minutes at the end.
21:37Yeah.
21:38There was a smile at the end of the day.
21:39It was kind of a smile, yeah.
21:40The day went so quickly, I said, yeah, because you spent half of it laying on the floor, dwelling in the fact that it doesn't feel right, it's not going to happen.
21:48It doesn't feel right.
21:49I don't look good, yeah.
21:50Just think banana and you'll be fine.
21:51Yeah.
21:52She'll explain.
21:53Right.
21:54But Zorro means fox in Spanish, symbolizing cleverness, trickery.
21:58So what kind of clever tricks do you have up your sleeve? Are we going to see more the same?
22:02Or are you going to focus on refinement?
22:04Because you know the judges want to see that.
22:05Look, of course, I've got a weapon here.
22:10You know, he is like a...
22:12No, he is.
22:13He is like a supercar.
22:16It would be criminal for me not to showcase that.
22:19However, we are listening to the judges.
22:20And Paso doble in itself, it's such a powerful, content dance.
22:25So we really focus on dancing together.
22:28And the story of Zorro is it's got softness to it as well.
22:31You know, there's a love story.
22:33There's a bit of flirtation.
22:35Yeah.
22:36So we're looking for all of it.
22:37Yeah.
22:38Refinement, strong technique, beautiful lines.
22:40Anything else?
22:41Yeah.
22:42He's looking at you constantly going, it's Monday.
22:46Give me a second.
22:47Well, we can't wait to see the two of you.
22:49You've been brilliant so far.
22:50So I can't wait to see what comes next.
22:51Thank you very much.
22:52Let's hear it for Lewis and Katya.
22:55Woo!
22:56Yes, Lewis.
22:58Next up, it's time for a call to action.
23:01Music, please.
23:03Fight against the judges?
23:05No.
23:06We will dance and we will live.
23:09In your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the scores from this day for one chance?
23:15Just one chance to come back in here and tell the judges that.
23:19They may give us a two, but they'll never take our freedom!
23:23When you started off, you look nervous, but halfway through, you're little.
23:32So let's keep working it in the right direction.
23:34It was very square, there was no swing, there was no sway.
23:38But I'll tell you this, Ross, no matter what I say, you need to keep going, darling.
23:43You said, I'd be happy with most improved.
23:45And let me tell you, you are most improved.
23:48Please welcome Ross and Anita.
23:53Ross, we are going to Hollywood, baby.
23:56You and I, we're going to win an Oscar for that.
23:58All right, Ross, you were quite emotional after the dance on Saturday night.
24:02What did the performance mean to you?
24:04It meant everything, I think.
24:06You know, we've talked about how emotional we are as a couple.
24:09And it just was everything.
24:12You know, I think the choice of song was beautiful.
24:15Going up to Scotland to shoot at Loch Lomond, which brought back so many memories.
24:20And just everything, and also my niece Holly was in the audience.
24:24And she was about the same, you know what it's like on that floor.
24:26You can sense people, you can hear them.
24:29And at the end of the lovely little film, I wasn't watching it,
24:34but I heard my voice crack a little bit.
24:36And then I heard Holly go, because obviously that was her grand and granddad.
24:40So it was like, oh, and I was like, hold it together at least till the end of the,
24:44at least at the end of the dance.
24:45Focus, focus, focus.
24:46I've got a dance to do.
24:47But it was so beautiful, honestly.
24:49Well done to the two of you.
24:50And Yavita, Ross really got swept up in the whole thing.
24:54Did you feel there was a real connection to the dance for him?
24:57Definitely.
24:58I mean, from the beginning to the end, I felt that emotions.
25:02I felt that concentration to do it well.
25:06Because, I mean, I felt, I don't want to, we really, both of us,
25:14we really wanted to do it well for Scotland.
25:16So it was, I don't want to use the word pressure.
25:20But it was kind of a pressure.
25:22But there was a bit of pressure.
25:23Yeah.
25:24Because we really wanted to make everyone's proud.
25:27And your parents proud.
25:29And I wish they could see it.
25:30No.
25:31But I think, from my point of view, you were amazing.
25:36And thank you so much for that dance.
25:40You guys are cute.
25:41Right, Ross, you were bottom, though, of the judges' combined scores
25:45for the last two weeks.
25:46Was there ever a worry that you might be going home?
25:49Oh, absolutely.
25:50All the time.
25:51You know, I said it to you, and I kept saying,
25:54in the dance-off, do we get a chance to rehearse the dance-off?
25:57Do we get a chance to practise a little bit and things like that?
25:59So, yeah, no, I was very much thinking that we're definitely
26:03going to be in the dance-off.
26:04Did you know Anton called you out for most improved?
26:07Yeah.
26:08Which is great.
26:09But then Craig gave you a two.
26:10What did you make of that?
26:11Pfft.
26:12Exactly.
26:13That's all the noise you can give.
26:14Exactly.
26:15No.
26:16It was so lovely of Anton because when I went into this,
26:19and we've talked about this before, and becoming, like,
26:21you know, the poster boy, the poster older man for people
26:23who've never danced, who want to dance, who can realise how
26:27beautiful dance is.
26:28Even if you can't dance, you know, to actually get involved
26:31in it somehow.
26:32And when we were in Scotland, you know, I had people coming up
26:35to me.
26:36Oh, strictly knee dancing, you know, but you're now making us
26:40want to do it, which I think is so nice.
26:42Oh.
26:43So to go into it like that, and I always said, if I could be the
26:46most improved, that would do for me.
26:48And so when Anton said that, that was just, that made it for me.
26:51That was...
26:52But you're not ready to go, so please don't let that be the end
26:53of it, right?
26:54Oh, no, no, no, no.
26:55We're not going anywhere.
26:56No, no, you're not going anywhere, because you're moving on
26:57to movie week, baby.
26:59Oh, yeah, you are.
27:00And you're dancing a pas de doble.
27:01Oh, yeah.
27:02And we need a countdown for this one.
27:03Five, four, three, two, one.
27:14Thunderbirds are go.
27:17It's going to be the Strictly take on Thunderbirds.
27:23Ross, today was a...
27:24What are you making of the Paso Nobles so far?
27:26Today was day one.
27:27I'm not making a lot of it so far.
27:29It's making a fool of me.
27:30I get that a lot.
27:31Lou has said the same thing, yeah.
27:33It's terrifying when Lou says that it's tough.
27:36Lou, thank you so much.
27:38Literally, we were standing on the side and Ross went,
27:42Oh, Lord.
27:43Oh.
27:44Oh, Lord.
27:45Focus on the Thunderbirds.
27:46That is you, baby.
27:47That is your journey.
27:48And, Yevita, it's a dance that requires a lot of precision.
27:52Yes.
27:53Does it help that you're going to be puppets?
27:54Is that...
27:55I'm a puppet.
27:56So, definitely, Ross as a puppet is a win-win.
28:00Ross as a puppet is a winner.
28:01He does it great.
28:02Okay.
28:03Then we start doing Paso and then we need to work more on that Paso part.
28:07So, we need to get a puppet that can do the Paso.
28:09Yes.
28:10Yes.
28:11There we are.
28:12Okay, are you laughing a lot in rehearsals?
28:13Yes, we do.
28:14We continue to laugh a lot.
28:15I've been compared to a Muppet and now I'm a puppet.
28:18So, there we are.
28:19Yeah, like, you know, it's just one of those things.
28:21I can't help it.
28:23No!
28:24Kissy!
28:25Kissy!
28:26Oh, gosh.
28:27All of a sudden, It Takes Two has become a different show.
28:29Right.
28:30Ross, you are Mr. Hollywood yourself.
28:32Oh, yeah.
28:34And this week we've got Cynthia Erivo coming in to help everybody.
28:36How are you feeling about that?
28:37Are you excited to work with a Hollywood star?
28:39Very excited.
28:40I've met Cynthia a couple of times.
28:42Of course you have.
28:43Of course I have.
28:44When we asked the question, you were going to say that.
28:46So, yeah.
28:47So, she is just wonderful.
28:48And of course, her performance in Wicked was just sensational.
28:51Yeah.
28:52And you're not even...
28:53If she's going to come into the room, you're going to get my old mate Cynthia here.
28:54We know each other well.
28:55As I like to call her.
28:56Oh, you'll call her Cyn.
28:57We should all start calling her Cyn.
28:58Sir.
28:59In fact, I just call her Sir.
29:00Will you introduce me?
29:01Of course.
29:02You're going to meet her too, Yavita.
29:03You're dancing with Ross, the Paso Doble.
29:06Oh.
29:07I usually go, like, on the side, you know?
29:09I just let him...
29:10Oh, look at that.
29:11No, but she's incredible.
29:12Oh, super.
29:13And I can't wait to see what she's going to bring to the show and to everybody.
29:15Yeah.
29:16Well, good luck to the two of you.
29:17Thank you so much.
29:18Paso Doble.
29:19I'll give you my bit of advice.
29:20Yes, please.
29:21The banana.
29:22Right?
29:23Think of the banana.
29:24And even if you are a puppet, you take it like a matador.
29:27Does that make sense?
29:29It does make some kind of a sense.
29:31I'm not quite sure which sense it makes, but it's some kind of sense.
29:33Matador, banana.
29:34Matador, banana.
29:35Matador, banana.
29:36With a banana.
29:37Puzzle face.
29:38Let's hear it one more time for Rossing Yavita.
29:41That's it for tonight.
29:42I'm back tomorrow with more from Joanne Clifton.
29:45Dance Off survivors Chris and Nadia are here, along with Stefan and Diane and Ellie and Vito,
29:50who will be revealing more about their movie week dances.
29:53That's from 6.30.
29:54Have a good night.
30:05Hello.
30:06Players.
30:07Oh, wow.
30:08The castle.
30:09There it is.
30:10Welcome to the Highlands.
30:11Oh, God.
30:12Here.
30:13Here we go.
