00:00It was 6.29am on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, when a hail of rockets rained down on Israel.

00:10These 5,000 projectiles fired by Hamas marked the launch of a terrorist attack dubbed the Al-Aqsa Flood,

00:17in reference to Islam's third holiest site in Jerusalem.

00:21The scale and brutality of this assault will stun the entire world.

00:26Alarm sirens sounded in Israel.

00:30The Iron Dome, Israel's defense system, was put in place.

00:35But the system was quickly overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of projectiles.

00:40Soon afterwards, Hamas fighters armed with explosives attacked the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel.

00:47Attackers on motorbikes or in pickup trucks used these gaps to reach their targets, most of which were 30 minutes away.

00:54Other commandos were launched by sea or in the air.

00:59In just two hours, the fighters of the Palestinian terrorist movement Hamas targeted Israeli military bases and kibbutzim.

01:09The Nova Music Festival was the scene of the largest massacre, with over 360 festival-goers killed and 44 taken hostage.

01:17In addition to murders, the UN said several victims were subjected to rape, torture and cruel and inhumane treatments.
