00:00Hello and welcome to this Queensland Jane's Weather update for Monday.
00:03There is a huge band of cloud that is stretching across the country.
00:07We're not seeing that.
00:08We've got a lot of clear skies that are going on
00:10and just a little bit of moisture that's starting to pour into the northeast there.
00:13So a huge band of rain, but that is not for us.
00:17Let's have a look day by day what to expect in through here.
00:19A bit of shower and storm activity in the northeast there today.
00:22Otherwise, things are looking quite clear.
00:24Let's move into Tuesday.
00:26Start to see that build in through these northern parts there.
00:29So a lot of moisture off the coast starting to pour in.
00:32We don't have a trough yet to turn that into any wet weather any further south.
00:36So let's have a look on Wednesday.
00:38We're starting to see...
00:39We're not starting to see.
00:40We've already got it.
00:41We've got heat that is moving through here.
00:42So the red lines and then the purple lines indicate a ball of heat
00:46that is stuck over the northern parts of the country now.
00:48So by Wednesday, that is still confined up into the north.
00:51As we go to Thursday, that's when our trough sets up.
00:54It's running in through here.
00:55And so we're looking at showers and thunderstorms.
00:57Now, a lot of them are down through here, still with that band of cloud and rain.
01:02But this part here turns into hit and miss showers and storms.
01:05So let's watch that move through as we go Thursday and then into Fridays
01:10when we're expecting most of that to be in the southeastern corner of Queensland there.
01:14But this is still brewing up in the north.
01:16And as we go into Saturday, that could move further west.
01:19So in through here, and then that could potentially be our next widespread rain
01:24as it comes through at the end part of the weekend into early next week.
01:27So that is something to keep an eye on.
01:29Potential, it's about a week away, so it's not set in stone yet,
01:33but it's something to watch.
01:35All right.
01:35What might that add up to, including that rain as it comes through on Sunday?
01:38But first of all, we've got this in the northeast here.
01:41It could be some big falls if you're directly under showers and thunderstorms.
01:44In the southeast, we're likely to see that activity.
01:47And then this one coming through here as well later on in the weekend.
01:51So Brisbane, let's have a look day by day.
01:53We're in the low to mid 30s.
01:55We'd move down to the low 30s.
01:57Have a look at our overnight temperatures.
01:5915 this morning in the city, 15 again tomorrow.
02:01It rises sharply at the end of the week as that trough comes in.
02:04So there's more moisture in the air, which you can see as part of the dew point there.
02:08That's when we get our chest of showers and thunderstorms in the area.
02:11That's Friday into Saturday.
02:13But generally, it's still looking like fairly sunny skies.
02:16That may change as we go later Sunday and into Monday
02:19if that system comes through from the west there.
02:22All right.
02:22That's it for me.
02:23As always, head to Farm Online Weather for the latest.
